We stayed for 2 nights, a group of 5 friends and we absolutely
loved it. We swam in the mornings, the pool was lovely, refreshing and deep and we could have happily stayed around all day if we didn't have other things to see and do on our list. The massage/spa was the best experience in my life, overlooking the greenery with sounds and scents of nature, real nature - not piped music! I would love to come back.
I stayed in here for 2 nights and what a experience it was, the villas are stunning with everything you would need and really comfortable beds. The staff are so nice friendly and helpful the treatment room is so relaxing and the pool is great! I will 100% stay again!
We had a bargain holiday to Bali where the allocated hotel was in Legian. We decided to end a couple of days around Ubud and found this hotel. It was absolutely fantastic. We made a late booking for 5 of us and it worked out at only £10 per night per person. 2 large double rooms and a large sofa bed. Ver comfortable, idyliic setting in rice fields and a beatiful pool. Excellent and well worth it.
We really enjoyed our stay at Junjungan Serenity. We were there with our family for Mum's 60th, and had a great time. Mum stayed in a one bedroom villa overlooking the rice fields, we stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with our 2 small children, and there was plenty of room for everyone else in the other 2 bedroom villa. We didn't realise that we'd booked the entire place with this arrangement!
We all arrived on the same day at different times, and were greeted with fresh lime & mint drinks, and Budi personally showed us around the place before introducing us to her sister who was amazing, and took care of us with anything we needed for our stay.
The location is away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, but really convenient to get around - either hiring a scooter, or taking a trip to the main areas in a taxi. (They provide a shuttle once a day which is really all you need). Any closer to the town and it wouldn't be as peaceful, so it's a worthwhile trade-off.
There's a kitchen with a chef who will cook anything on their menu for you at any time, and bamboo hut eating area that overlooks the rice fields, although they also brought drinks and food to us while we were in the pool. Also, with breakfast included we could order whatever we wanted and it was never a hassle. Really nice food as well! Occasionally there would be visitors from other surrounding places just to eat there.
Surprisingly, there were no problems with mosquitoes or insects considering we were amongst the rice fields - With 2 small children we came prepared just in case, but never had any issues.
The rooms were clean and new, the beds were comfy, and the serenity... yes, it lived up to it's name. We had massages in the spa area which overlooked the rice fields, listening to the waterfall in the creek at the end of the garden.
The hospitality was wonderful, they provided us with toys for the kids, movies to watch, and also made us a cake to celebrate Mum's birthday as their gift to us.
Overall we have great memories of our trip, and our stay here was definitely a highlight.
My girlfriends and I rented one of the "villas" for four night and it was amazing! The most comfortable beds and the nicest staff! They made you this wonderful breakfast in the mornings and was very helpful with driving you somewhere or helping you find good places to eat and do. It was an "open" bathroom so many ants and animals could get in the room and it was not walking distance to the main road so that was the only things that I'm going to be negative about!
I stayed at Budi's new property (she also manages Avalon Villas Ubud) for three days in October 2016 - right after they started accepting bookings - and had an absolutely wonderful time. The villas are pristine and very nicely designed, with lots of attention to detail; each of the five rooms and bathrooms has different unique finishes.
The pool and pool deck overlook a rice field, are a great place not just for sunbathing but also breakfast and yoga; and even though access from downtown Ubud by car / scooter is quick you feel the peace and serenity of the surrounding countryside, rather than downtown Ubud's hustle and bustle.
Particular highlights: the home-cooked breakfast is DELICIOUS (my favorite was a daily mint citrus smoothie, coffee, and banana pancakes), the staff is wonderfully friendly and attentive, and if you're looking for a special getaway with your significant other you have the option of booking the honeymoon suite which is tucked away in a quiet corner with a neatly integrated bathroom design for romantic candlelight baths in the evening. On-property massages and treatments are also an option, in a quiet spa area adjacent to the rice fields.
The only thing I would caution travelers to be aware of is that downtown Ubud is not within walking distance - a car, motorcycle or bicycle are required to get around.
