My husband and I spent 2 nights in Villa Semana. Our visit didn't begin very well as the villa we have booked was not what we expected, however the owner and staff quickly remedied the situation by providing us another villa which we're much happier with.

The spa here is fantastic. The massage quality is excellent and the environment is truly the best we've ever had. We began with a floral footbath and were offered a selection of 4 massage oils which I found to be very good aromatherapy oils. Then we laid down on the comfortable bed on the pavillion, which is set on a platform overlooking the Ayung river. The surrounding was completely lush and the sound of running water was so soothing. We're completely outdoor and we felt the cooling breeze - so nice compared to indoor treatment rooms with air-cons!

The hotel has very beautiful landscaping. Everywhere you turn in the garden feels picture-perfect!

We also love the Balinese coffee they serve at breakfast!

We're thankful that Suter the owner is flexible with our booking arrangement. I had originally booked 4 nights through Agoda, however my husband preferred to have more nights spent in a seaside hotel. Suter worked it out with Agoda and we could change our booking without penalty, which we appreciate.

My husband and I just enjoyed 2 nights at Villa Semana as part of our trip to Bali to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We found the location of the resort beautiful and tranquil. Our pool did not have a view of the rice paddies/river as we had hoped, but it was none the less very pretty. The spa on the river was incredibly peaceful. As we laid and had reflexology done we could hear the local children playing in the river, it truly was a wonderful experience.
The food was outstanding, in fact some of the best we have ever had in Bali. There was a wonderful selection and the service from the waiting staff was impeccable. The owner, Jurg, was on hand the whole time to give us advice on sight seeing in Ubud and its surrounds. He had some very interesting and funny stories to tell. We did a mountain bike ride with him through the rice paddies and the town itself which was one of our highlights of our week in Bali. We stopped off at local artists selling their wares and got to see Ubud from a completely unique angle. We intend taking our 2 teenage daughters back with us next time to Villa Semana to enjoy the other side of Bali which I think many people miss out on.

I recently enjoyed a two night stay in a part of Bali that I thought no longer existed.
Villa Semana, located in a valley along a tranquil little river in Semana/Ubud is a bit of Paradise!

From the moment you drive down the beautifully landscaped lane leading to your own private villa, you know that you are in a very special place. You are greeted by staff who provide wet cloths and a refreshing drink to wipe away the stress from the outside world.

The accommodations are excellent. Everyone has their own private villa with pool. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated in traditional Bali style with western amenities.

The grounds are filled with little walking paths that lead you to an outdoor dining pavilion. I enjoyed a traditional Bali breakfast and an evening dinner. The food is organic and wonderful. I am told that you may have the Chef give you a cooking lesson.

The staff are friendly, well trained and made me feel really special. I highly recommend that you experience this little bit of Bali paradise for yourself.
