“Luxurious hotel, great staff!”

We visted this hotel more then once and love this place, it offers everything you need on a holiday. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is very good and there is an afternoon tea at the beach. Definitely book a massage at the spa around 17/18h. For a good cup of coffee and the best cakes you should go to Luthu's at the beach. We love to go to Little Bird for dinner and music.

Room Tip: Every room has a great view, some rooms are located near the swimming pool, and they are all surroun...

Just returned from our honeymoon here staying for 10 nights. On arrival we got upgraded to a club room which was amazing and very spacious. We also had access to the club pool which was metered from our room the only down side was this pool is in the shade all day so we didn't tend to use it. All staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We ate at the poolside bar a few times and the food was gorgeous although so some days it did take ages to get waited on which could be improved.
Overall fabulous holiday and would defiantly return to this hotel!!!

Excellent resort location, huge in size, with over 90% of resort dedicated to greenery and open spaces. 2 pools, the infinity one leads up to beach front. Great restaurants, breakfast and very friendly staff. Just step out on beach front and you have everything within 100mtr - restaurants, local grocer to laundry service to exchange, cycle hire, water sports....et al. The beach in front is good, but the seabed is rocky, good for swim during high tide only. The themed dinner / show priced at IDR 180,000 was not good value-for-money; seems steep by Bali standards.

Room Tip: Some renovations going on for some cottages/bunglows; we were auto upgraded.

My new wife and I have just returned from 7 nights at this wonderful hotel. Looking at some others photos I'm only gutted we didn't get a more modern room. They supplied a honeymoon cake for us which was amazing and every night we got a turn down service. The staff were wonderful and helped us every day. The view were amazing the gardens lush the food amazing. We had a honeymoon 3 course meal on the beach and the staff did absolutely everything to make our holiday so special. The only complaint I have is with the Germans stealing the loungers and never using them.

Our 4th visit to the Segara Village was as good as, if not better than our previous visits.

On our first day, as I went to the beach to watch the sunrise I noticed that the mountains of Agung (3031 m) and Batur were clearly visible which made this early morning experience all the more memorable.

Our cottage was also located in close proximity to the place where the Hindu offerings are prepared daily. It was interesting to observe these offerings prepared and placed three times daily.

The Hotel and its gardens (kebun) were magnificent to stroll through on our way to breakfast or drinks at the various bars. The one-day that it did rain at breakfast time the staff were up and running with “business as usual” undercover in no time at all.

For us one of the many attractions of this hotel is that it adjoins the walkway that runs for several kilometres in each direction along the Sanur shoreline, no need to get involved in traffic except the odd bicycle.

Breakfast and afternoon Tea and cakes were a delight and always well organised by Surianti, Sukiaki Bayu and the team. At the cocktail party that we were invited to it was interesting to chat to Vijnyani and her colleague about the challenges of running the various events that they run and their ambitious plans for the future.

Lastly for us, one of our interests was to improve our knowledge of the Indonesian language and with this we were assisted by every member of staff who would cheerfully spend a few minutes to chat and indeed correct some of our grammer and even give us a few phrases of Balinese which was of great assistance when negotiating with various traders.

Selemat jalan ! (Bon Voyage)
John & Ann.

Room Tip: Go with your budget, they are all in a nice garden setting.

My husband and I have just returned from a week at the Segara Village and only wish we could have stayed for longer. When informed that renovations would still be ongoing during our holiday we considered moving to alternate accommodation and are so happy that we decided to stick with the Segara. On arrival in Bali we were informed that our room was not ready (due to the renovations) and the first night we were accommodated in the Segara’s sister hotel, the Kejora. This boutique hotel was stunning and it was certainly no hardship to spend a night there. In return for the inconvenience, we were treated to dinner and drinks one evening. From start to finish staff could not have been more accommodating and welcoming, the customer service was second to none and we were made to feel really at home. A special thank you to Nyoman Priantini and Suryati Made, who simply couldn’t do enough for us and their other guests. The grounds of the hotel are stunning and even though the hotel was full it was always possible to find a tranquil area to relax in peace and quiet. You do have to be sharp to secure a lounger though; some guests are a little inconsiderate putting their towels out at the crack of dawn and then barely using the loungers. The buffet breakfast was delicious and I can’t understand why other reviewers described it as the same every day – we felt the daily choice of western style cooked breakfast, Indonesian cuisine, omelette and egg bar, pastries, an array of breads and spreads, cold meats and salad, fresh fruit, pancakes, waffles and French toast more than adequate! Most days we didn’t eat again until the complimentary tea and cakes in the afternoon. It is obvious to see that Bali is a very poor country and initially the sight of rubbish, stray dogs etc. on the main streets is a little shocking but you need to look past that and see the warmth of the people and beauty of the countryside. Yes, you get hassled by vendors trying to get you to visit their stalls and by ‘taxi drivers’ offering transport but they are poor people trying to earn a living and a firm but polite ‘no thank you’ is all it takes to be left in peace. We ate out most evenings and found the food delicious and inexpensive spending approx. $20 a meal for two courses for two people with soft drinks. Daily massages were a huge treat and at around $8 a time more than affordable. We will definitely go back to the Segara Village in the future.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to Segara Village 2. The rooms are a little dated but clean, spacious, excellent ai...
