We have just returned from Segara Village in Sanur and I must say it was lovely some of the comments we read before we went made us a little nervous, but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised, the room, grounds cleanliness, friendly staff, the welcome was great.
We travelled around Bali , went to the Monkey Forest in Ubud, Coffee Plantation, Temples ,Waterfalls, Bird Park, Catamaran to another Island all amazing. A must is to go out and eat, the food is delicious and very cheap. The village itself is kept immaculate you will always see somebody cleaning something, If you have time to complain about slow draining water in the shower or a little crack in the tiles then you are obviously blind to the beautiful surroundings that make up this unique holiday village, we found the breakfast more than adequate and never waited more than a few minutes for coffee to be served, the staff always had a smile and a good morning for you although some visitor's chose not to smile or reply back which I think is very rude. We are season travellers that visit three countries every year and I must say this is one that we would revisit if we have the time, I would suggest that if you want to experience the local way of life then visit this place if you want clinical five star serving expensive western food then go to Sandals. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay in Bali one to remember

Room Tip: All rooms were lovely and well located to beach and street

We have stayed in luxury accommodation throughout the Pacific and South East Asia, but by far the best package is that offered by Segara Village. We booked a Bungalow and were upgraded to the very best. The hotel complex is beautifully laid out and extremely attractive to walk around day and night. It is right on the beach front and has several pools as well. The breakfast restaurant is superb offering a wide range of foods plus gluten free bread. This is a self-service arrangement allowing for daily variety which we appreciated over the six nights we were with them. After driving extensively around South Bali, we consider Sanur the ideal base for prolonged accommodation as it is so central and removed from the maddening crowds. We explored numbers of the other hotels along the beachfront and were totally convinced that our choice of Segara was the ideal.

Room Tip: The Bungalows are tucked away from the main foot traffic so afford more privacy.

We stayed here with our three children (11,10 and 3).
We stayed in a bungalow room and had the day bed and an extra fold out bed. Our king bed was more than big enough for our three year old to share. The room was not squashy even with all the extra bedding. Cold air conditioning too!
Staff were amazing, so happy and friendly. Breakfast made me gain 5 kilos, pools were amazing,
In the middle of everything, but in resort like being a million miles away in your own oasis,
Right on beach front.
Only gripe would be our room had a mouldy damp smell (as much of Bali has a smell and our first time), I did wish we asked on first arrival to be swapped rooms, as I am sure they would have been more than happy to...but would be our only minor complaint. After speaking to other residents, they had no smells in their rooms and also were more than happy with resort.
Amazing cocktails ($10aus) and fruit juices and great food from their restaurant, although we only got light afternoon snacks. Best aioli I have ever had!
Can recommend Minami Japanese restaurant next door, which is actually part of hotel to some extent. It cost us about $100aus to eat there, but generous drinks and dinner for 5 is not dear for 5 star food.
Tootsies just up the walkway on beach we got burgers, pastas a juice and beer each $16 and shop out back has great handbags, clothes etc. As does Indahs a couple of shops up and all prices fixed and cheap as any place you will haggle down too anyway.
The other restaurant to eat at is Warung Little Bird, in main st of Sanur, cheapest and best Indonesian food anywhere. But be early or book. We averaged about $40 a meal inc tip and cocktails for us all!
There is a laundry up the rd towards mcdonalds that washes your clothes for 15000 rupiah per kilo, Beny there was also very helpful with tours etc.
Can not recommend Sanur or Segara enough.
We are hoping to get back here (to the resort) atleast once a year if not every second.
There is Bali belly and than the Bali Bug....a need to return!

Room Tip: There was no fitness centre, but with all the walking and swimming, you don't need it. Also play...

I spent 3 days at Segara Village and loved it. The location is right on the beach, which is great.

The hotel has beautiful gardens and lovely cool relaxing pools. My daughter and I spent many hours diving into the cool waters after walking along the beach or around the shops.
The rooms are well appointed with excellent air conditioning. We were upgraded to a great room with a huge bathroom and wide private veranda. I also appreciated the complimentary bag and fruit punch we received on arrival.

Breakfast was delicious - lots of variety and plentiful. Balinese musicians playing soft traditional balinese music live in the background created a wonderful ambience. Coffee wasn't great, but that was the only fault. If you want a good coffee, there is a beachside coffee shop 2 minutes stroll down the beach which does excellent coffee.

All up - a well appointed hotel with beautiful gardens and pools and a relaxed vibe. I would definitely come back to Segara Village.

It was an amazing 14nights spent in paradise. It was filled with wonderful service, food and relaxation. Fantastic is an understatement for the service given by the staff at Segara, nothing is ever to difficult and they make you feel at home. The resort is close to markets to shop and if you wanted a day to relax you have pools to lay by or a wonderful spa. This was my second time to Bali and staying at Segara and it won't be my last. A huge thank you to all the staff especially Nyoman and Dayu for making mine and my partners holiday PERFECT!!

Room Tip: For privacy the best room is a room in Segara @ village 2

Myself and my husband stayed at the Segara Village in May, for 8 nights as part of a multi-centre holiday. We stayed in one of the first floor basic rooms (they call it a Deluxe Room). It wasn't the biggest of rooms, but we like to get out and about and don't spend much time in the room so we found it fine. The bathroom was fairly small but had a very generously sized shower cubicle which we appreciated. Overall it was clean and comfortable.

Robes, slippers, toiletries, room safe, small fridge, complimentary water, tea and coffee making facilities were all included, plus there was a decent hairdryer. There was no iron or ironing board.

Our balcony was screened by trees and foliage which made it feel quite private. Wifi was a bit hit and miss, I managed to access it one evening from our balcony, but on another occasion couldn't and had to wait until I was sat in the reception area. It's not an issue for me, but might be for others.

The breakfast buffet was not the most extensive we've had, but there was plenty of choice including the usual egg station plus some traditional Balinese dishes and the customer service was excellent. A nice touch was the complimentary afternoon tea/coffee and cake.

As a lot of other reviews have mentioned, the gardens and pool areas are beautiful. Looking back at our holiday pictures you would think that some of the photos taken within the grounds were at tourist locations.

It's definitely not the most central of hotels, and I didn't realise how sprawling Sanur was. There are minimarkets close by and plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance, but the large supermarkets are quite a hike. I would recommend hiring a bike, but not from the hotel as their charges were double of those just around the corner. If you go out of the main hotel entrance, turn left until you hit the main road, turn left again there's a bike hire shop a few shops down, we negotiated a good price here and cycled to the large supermarket with backpacks for some supplies.

We found ourselves in a bar called Jimmy's a few times, which was quite popular. Leave the hotel via the beach route, turn right, right again at the corner, go along the road until you hit the main street and it's just across the road. A lot of the bars in Sanur seemed to close at 10pm but Jimmy's always seemed to be open later.

I'm pleased we picked the Segara for our time in Bali, we saw hotels that looked more luxurious but didn't have the local character of the Segara.

I've been to Bali 3 times now and stayed at Segara Village all 3 times. I love it there it is absolutely breathtaking. Nyoman has always been there and has made me feel apart of a family that is so caring and truly kind. Walking around Bali I would not stay anywhere else. My children love it there too and they too feel like they are apart of another family when they go there. The surroundings of the hotel feel like your walking in a dream and the Lutu,s cafe next door has great food and coffee. Segara Village also makes me feel safe and the staff are all so very nice and special and make my holiday one to cherish.

Room Tip: We have always stayed in the Segara rooms and have found them the best.
