Our room was very modern and spacious in a quiet location. The grounds are beautifully kept. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Lovely seaside location. The breakfast was adequate. We would definitley stay here again.

Just returned from a 7 night stay at the Segara Village. We were in the Deluxe Bungalows and cannot fault our accommodation. Towels were replaced twice a day, we had a pool area which was lovely and quiet. Every night we got chocolate and our butler went out of his way to make our holiday special. If we wanted, we got breakfast to our veranda, which was lovely as we could avoid the breakfast restaurant. Breakfast was good - a lot of choice.
Staff were extremely helpful and polite and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was easy and totally relaxed.
The grounds were pristine, there was always someone cleaning or watering the grounds to keep them in the best possible condition.
The beach was nice, there were enough sunbeds and the sand was raked every night.
We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and the food was delicious.
The pool bar was clean, the cocktails were exceptional and the area was a pleasant place to relax in the afternoon sun and meet new people.
We will return to the Segara Village and would definitely recommend it to everyone that wants a relaxing holiday and not a party holiday.

Well im hooked, My wife and 2 kids went to Bali for the first time and we are converted.Just arrived back today and are planning our next trip. Segara Village is a hidden gem on the beach in Sanur. Staff / Food / rooms and the whole relaxed feel was awsome. Our Driver Katut was also fantasic, buying us water, changing our money ( getting us a top rate) was a gentleman and really nice guy. The people of Bali are all welcoming and very appreciative of us coming to their country. If you want a slice of heaven on the beach Segara Village Hotel will not disapoint.

Room Tip: Segara Village 2 , private little pool, really cool for those late night swims

This was our first visit to Bali and we stayed at the Segara Village Resort. What an introduction to Bali - the check in process was smooth, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were offered beautiful smelling handtowels to cool off with - (even while you sit around the pool tanning - they offer them to you). We were upgraded to a family bungalow which was so beautifully decorated - king size bed and bath big enough to lie down in. Our daughter had the bottom room (just wish there was an intercom to talk to each other though). Our rooms were always cleaned so well and everything was stocked up (mini-bar). The meals and cocktails (mocktails) were plentiful - prices cheap!. The infinity pool was gorgeous - perfect for swimming - water always warm. This is a great place to relax - we are planning to come back next year with more of our family.

We stayed with friends here who had been here 10 times over the last 20 or so years. This was our first time. We stayed 10 nights and wished it was longer.
We arrived in the late evening and the way the grounds were lit the place looked magical and enchanting. We were welcomed and were given an upgrade from the bungalow room to the Segara club room. ( a free upgrade was part of our package if it was available). We were given friendly introduction instructions and brought a welcome drink ( made from fresh fresh fruit). We had a bowl of fruit in our room as well as an invite with our names on it to the cocktail hour the following day.
The Segara club rooms have their own private pool only meters away ,surrounded by beautiful carved Hindu statues and giant palms. If it is busy be sure to secure a pool lounge early! each room also has their own daybed on the porch so you can relax there too. There is free wifi if it is part of your package. There was also staff by the pool at, all times if you needed anything. Agung was particularly helpful.
The club rooms are large. They have a large plasma tv mounted on the wall with surround sound and a DVD player. The bed is comfortable as are the sheets and pillows. There is also a daybed/lounge in the room. A desk, a separate area ( like a walk in robe)for hanging and storing clothes . A safe and a mini bar are here as we'll as kettle tea and coffee.
The bathroom is large with bath and shower and soft absorbent Segara towels.there were a few lights in the room so you could light separate areas ( or all of them) ,one being around the mirror. Usual bathroom amenities included. Water pressure and temperature were good.
The room of the bathroom ,change area and sleep area was all grey marble as is most of the bathroom. The room was nice but the colors in it were a little cold.perhaps they wanted the modern and not traditional look as no Balinese decoration in the room.
The turndown service was particularly good as not only did they leave little chocolates but they would change all the towels if they had been used during the day. As well as more water if required ( you get 2 small bottles a day).
The grounds are beautiful. Old trees , statues, temples, manicured gardens, frangipani trees. Just gorgeous! If you get up early in the morning you can see gardeners and a large team of people making everything look lovely for the day.they are also very friendly as are all the staff there. The accommodation is almost hidden amongst the gardens. There are 2 other pools on the grounds . One is a lagoon like pool which is gorgeous. The other pool is larger and near the breakfast area. A nice warm pool. Then there is the bar pool which is also nice for a relax and a drink in the afternoon. The squirrels and birds on the grounds add to the natural beauty.
The breakfast is great and menu changes daily. Includes eastern and western tastes , catering for all types of diets with hot and cold foods and even different types of fresh breads. They have someone making eggs fresh for you but there can be a queue if busy. The only thing I can fault is probably the coffee. And the tea is weak. The service for the tea and coffee is great though. We were greatest almost every morning by Ketut, who appears to be one of the managers, she was always friendly and helpful, as we're the library staff arranging transport for the day at short notice.
There is a little gift shop on site where you can post your postcards. There are gifts here too which are a bit more expensive than the markets but without the haggling.
The hotel hosts BBQ dinners and buffet dinners most nights, also with band or legions dancing, however,
Most nights we ate at "Toosie" which is next door. Great well priced fresh food and cold binging beer.
This was a great relaxing holiday destination, the hotel is an oasis.

My partner and I have just returned from a 10 day stay at Segara Village. I cannot say enough about it. the whole experience was fantastic. We got upgraded to a Bungalow villa which was very nice. The staff were always friendly and helpful. I had a problem with my sunglasses which are perscription and it was no trouble at all from them to help me get them fixed. The food is lovely. The grounds are wonderful. If your looking for a nice relaxing time with great staff this is definately the place to go. My partner said that he would go back and stay there again. 10/10 Segara Village.

My wife and I toured Bali for 10 days in June 2011. I have been meaning to write this review since then, as it was well worth the stay. We stayed at the Segara Village for 4 nights. If we could do it again we would have stayed longer. The grounds are very nice, well manicured and clean. The infinity pool overlooking the beach, while cold (apparently normal for Bali) was beautiful and relaxing. We stayed in the private are, which for the extra premium is well worth it. The beach in front of the hotel is very nice, however this is really not a swimming beach. At least while we were there, the tide was quit strong. Being from the US and used to traveling the Caribbean, this is a far cry from what I am used to. Still a great beach to sun bath and walk. There is also a 'boardwalk' along the beach the brings you past many restaurants and shops, mainly those attached to other resorts. Gives you an easy option for a change of scenery, although that is likely unneeded. Onto the service, it was fabulous. A very friendly, curteous staff eased our check in/out process. The rooms were clean and kept that way the whole stay. We had a very well decorated, updated room, and the bathroom was very large as compared to most resorts. Just outside our ground floor room was a smaller pool used by only guests of that section of the resort. A nice reprieve from the main pool if looking for a little more quiet. The food on the resort was very good, but not great. The best part of our trip, was the party that took place the night of our arrival. Apparently a family member to the owner of the resort was married, and they threw what must be the greatest wedding reception of all time. All resort guests were invited, however they asked everyone to where all white, which made the scene remarkable! The festivities included a fashion show, where the catwalk was over the pool, a DJ, a band and numerous musical acts. Oh and there was open bar and food. Oh my the food! Tons of it, everywhere. And from all over the world. We got to meet so many other guests and people, which made the rest of the stay that much more fun. I really cant say enough about the Segara Village. We stayed at 3 hotels on our visit to Bali, and this was by far the best all the way around. If we every return to Bali, and I hope we do, we will be staying at the Segara for sure. My commendations to the staff. Keep up the great work! Oh and not to mention I needed to use the services a the resort doctor during my stay from a scuba diving injury, and he was very quick, professional and helpful.

Room Tip: Choose a private or semi private room. Worth the extra premium!
