According to us, the location of this hotel is great. We found it very charming that the hotel is not facing the sea, as all the other newly renovated buildings. We find Laghawa Beach Inn hotel much more charming with a beautiful garden with lots of space! MANAGEMENT PLEASE KEEP THE GARDEN LIKE THIS ALWAYS!. My parents and sister always stay in one of the hotels which were mentioned by unsatisfied customer above, but they have a lot less privacy and not such beaufiful gardens! Every inch is used there for another room! O.K. the service may be better and everything may be cleaner but you pay for that as well! They pay more than 2,5 times the amount we paid here! So it's a matter of choice I suppose.
I do have some small suggestions for the management however: keep the pool cleaner.
And maintain and clean the rooms better, they have charm and space enough, just maintain them in better shape.
The restaurant needs a better management. The service is not efficient and the music is much too loud to be inviting for having dinner. Acoording to me, it looks a bit shabby with all these paintings of Bob Marly.
I ldo like the location at the street.
I would certainly come back to this hotel.

Our first impression of our room was stale smelling, tired and large. After airing the room and using incense we felt better but there was no improving the rusty unclean stained sink and fridge, torn and stained mosquito netting. It has such potential with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, lounge/dining and private garden. No airconditioner in sitting room, a great split system in main bedroom but very noisy aircon in 2nd bedroom and a fan which stays on one control = slow! No coffee cups, cutlery or crockery provided and I would question how many times our sheets were changed in 2 weeks. Electricity cut off repeatedly and too many mossies. Outdoor bathroom with shower was fine. Lovely gardens, moss covered tiles in the pool and on old swim-up bar stools. Not safe at all. We did make management aware and stayed because of position and having friends with a great pool close by. Lovely staff and walk to beach. Nice pool towels! Cheap price but would not stay again unless overhauled. Such a shame!

Read the review by lavasso and must admit, that all the facts he provides, are true. But - for us, none of these were actually a problem. Apart from maybe a really a bit too long way to the beach (it's not that you see the beach from your room).

The hotel restaurant - yes, time too wait is rather long, but he food is fine and the girls really nice. The fact that the restaurant faces the road is not a problem at all - between the restaurant and the road itself there is a small temple and a pool with fish. And on the other hand, one day there was a village festival, and we could watch the parade just having lunch.

Pool, gardens and parrots are great, as well as the cafe at the beach - we were so disappointed to find out that it works only till 5 or 6 pm, so it's impossible to have late dinner there. But as I said, the hotel restaurant is OK too.

What I realy disliked was the staff at the reception, especially one man - I always felt embarrassed to ask him about sth because he was sooooo dissatisfied to be forced to do something. And the other thing - not enough beach and pool towels: if you wanted to get one for sure, you had to get up early and go and take it - later you might not have found any left.

But as I said, in generall our experience in this hotel was OK.

I have stayed here a few times, and have always been greated with a smile and cold beer..perfect! Lots of people staying here are returning guests and the reason is that the staff are just all amazing. friendly, helpful and generally lovely people.

The beach is used by locals especially at weekends, which i like - what's the point of travelling otherwise! But, further down (5 mins walk) it's more for torists and so a little cleaner if you prefer(raked sand etc).

Great wave breakers with sun huts on to sit on and watch the sun rise. Lovely beach bar to drink at - although take a torch if coming back in at night as it's not always very well lit up. Hotel pool is really nice with a shallow kids end and beautiful gardens. Food is really great too I recomment the sea food kebab, fresh and tasty!

I know i'll go again as soon and can't wait!

Tip - if you are staying 1-2 weeks or more ask for a special rate discount

We stayed for over a week in a one-room villa. It was very relaxing, the staff is friendly, the gardens are marvelous, and the pool is very big. In the late afternoons, cockatoos would fly in and perch in the garden's beautiful trees. If you are looking for a place to rest, be able to cook for yourself (supermarket just a short walk away), enjoy walks on the beach, this is really a good place to stay at.

I stayed at the LBI for 3 nights having spent the previous 5 up in Ubud. My room here immediately fell into the 3 D's category....dingy....dark and depressing with so little light that I had to keep the doors open just to see what I was doing. The internal decor was in need of some TLC and there was dirt/dust evident behind the bedside cabinets. The air-con was so powerful that I had to sometimes turn it off or otherwise freeze. The bathroom lacked lacked any form of ventilation, nor did it have a fan. I had to put a towel on the floor to mop up excess water which didn't drain properly
Breakfast was quite amazing particularly as 2 of my 3 orders were wrong and the service was poor. (and remember this is low season)On the first day, I had to wait over 10 mins for just 1 more jam by which time both coffee and toast were cold and it was a long time before both of these arrived. Day 2 was OK . On day 3 I specifically asked for coffee to come with the eggs/toast and yes, coffee arrived well before anything else did resulting in my asking for some hot coffee again.
The few of us who had breakfast had to ask for the fan to be turned on and the dining area was within metres of the main road. You could have breakfast on your terrace or in your room.
Having hired a bike, I was able to cycle along the prom and see lots of other hotels with significantly superior beach settings, most of which had their dining areas facing the sea. There was some sort of beach cafe at the end of a long dark path leading from the hotel grounds but the beach here is not particularly attractive and again this area was quite dark.
The gardens are very pretty and there is a lovely well maintained pool, towels are provided.
I booked this hotel on the basis of it's 'beach' location but anyone hoping to see the beach has a trek to find it and then another trek to find a decent bit of beach worth your towel. I was disappointed both by the service and the location and if you just want a room for a base for few days, then fine but you can do much better for a very similar price.
