“Absolutely beautiful!!!”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

I took my family with their partners to the Bali Emerald in Oct 2011. It was clean and tidy with an amazing pool in the middle of our villa. Everyone had their privacy yet we still maintained our family unit. Our wonderful maid, Dewa was a real trooper and it was great to have someone else do the cleaning and laundry. She even told me to leave the dishes alone because that was a part of her role. (Not use to that, so it was HUGELY appreciated). Staff friendly and helpful. Love Bali and their people!!!!! Would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Sanur very easy to get around with heaps of restaurants to suit all tastes. Also alot quieter than Seminyak, Legian and Kuta. Sensational massages at the end of the lane near the silver shop. Got to go upstairs but worth every cent. ($6 AUD....would have paid triple for their work). Huge thank you Bali Emerald for our holiday x

This property is well worth the price, especially if you shop around and find a cheap deal, we got ours on booking.com, very reasonable. Spotless, clean private villas, beautiful private swimming pool, the whole property is perfect for relaxing. Food is reasonable priced and good, they do deliver to the villas for free. Sanur is a nice village, just enough shops and eateries around, but not overwhelming like Kuta. The people are nicer there too and prices are cheaper. The villa is very secure, gated with security guards at the gate. There is a maid who cleanes and washes, irons, we had a nice girl, she was very efficient and respected our privacy. I would go back there anytime for a nice relaxing holiday, highly recommended. Shops, supermarkets are a comfortable 15 minutes walk away, but can catch a taxi for cheap as there are lots around. The living area is by the pool and it is open, with ceiling fans, which are enough to keep cool, the bedrooms are airconditioned for a good night sleep.

Room Tip: We had a villa with private swimming pool, well worth it, as there are some which share the pool. I...

The villas are perfect for a relaxing vacation in Sanur. My friend and I stayed at the villas for one week before heading to Ubud. The home is well-appointed with a very large kitchen and living space and a private pool. The villa was in a good location - walking distance from a number of eateries and shops.

We booked a 3 bedroom villa which came with a private pool, a maid and was in the heart of Sanur.
We were placed in the "Jade villas" arm of emerald villas and stayed in Villa #7.

This has 3 large bedrooms that are quite separate from each other and would suit 3 couples.

The bedrooms and living area are all airconditioned

Bedroom 1 was the largest and had a large bathroom with toilet, double sinks, a bath, shower, as well as a second outside shower. The bedroom has a double sliding glass door that opens on to an undercover deck (marble) that was poolside as well as an entry to the main living/dining area.
The wardrobes are large and also contained the villas solitary safe (that we used frequently)
This room has a TV, a bed side lamp and lots of natural light (large curtaned windows on the side).
The bed is large, firm and a four poster bed.

Bedroom 2 was the next largest and had a good size bathroom with a toilet, double sinks, a bath, shower and also had a second outside shower. The bedroom has a double sliding glass door that opens on to an undercover deck (marble) that was poolside.
The wardrobes/drawers were a good size.
Access to the main living/dining are was via the outdoor (undervcover) area.
This room has a bed side lamp and lots of natural light (large curtaned windows on the side)
The bed is large, firm and a four poster bed.

Bedroom 3 as you would expect, was the smallest of the 3 bedrooms and had a smaller size bathroom with a toilet, single sink, and a shower. The bedroom has a double sliding glass door that opens on to an undercover deck (marble) that was approximately 4 metres from the poolside.
The wardrobes/drawers were a reasonable size.
Access to the main living/dining are was via the sliding double doors but was via an in-covered area. This only became an issue when the torrential rain came down and there was no cover to get to the main part of the villa.
This room has a bed side lamp and lots of natural light (large curtaned windows on the side)
The bed is large, firm.

The villa includes a maid for ~7 to 8 hours a day.
She was thoughtful, quiet, very helpful and also looked after the pool cleaner and gardener that turned up each day (also very friendly).
Each morning, she would arrive ~8:30 - 9:00 (which suited us) and would clean the dishes, do our laundry then clean the rooms and windows then offer if we needed any groceries fetching.
We made use of this only once and provided a tip for petrol money.
She was never invasive and you would hardly know she was around which was one of our concerns as most of the time she was either out the back (a rear section purely for cleaning and laundry) or in an unused room. Nothing was too much trouble (not that we were high maintenance either)

Back to the villa. The decor was a little "dated" but could be simply passed off as "Balinese".
The main living area was enclosed and has 2 access doors that lead to the undercover overlooking the pool as well as 2 very large glass windows that are are up to the edge of the pool.
The kitchen is large with a good sized dining table and living area.

There is an LCD TV in the living room with cable access and a DVD player (with some DVD's in the drawer).
An assortment of books (~20) and magazines are also in the room.

There is a water cooler that saved us having to purchase bottled water each day which was nice. A good sized fridge/freezer, and a beatufil oven if required.

The swimming pool is nice. It is large (for this villa it was 17 metres long !!!)
It is approx 1.7 metres deep for the majority of the pool (about 13 metres of it) pool and not sure how deep in the other 4 metres (shallow end), but my 7 year old daughter could not reach the bottom so be aware for little kids who cant swim.
There is also another shower next to the pool.

There are 2 out door recliner/deck chairs that overlook the pool and are padded as well as a small grass area.

The entrance to the villa courtyard is a small double doorway that can be locked and the complex has a 24hr guard on the gates who were all very polite and friendly.

Outside the gate are plenty of places to eat, shop and relax. Restaurants are all along both sides of the road, as well as massage shops, and lots of shops for Bali goods.
Local food as well as italian, irish food can be found a short walk from the villa as well as FlapJacks sports restaurant overthe road.
Live music is at quite a few of the restaurants every night and is delightful (try the Cat & Fiddle Irish restaurant it is interesting to hear a balinese band play irish music).

There is a pharmacy approximately 400 metres away and the beach another 400 metres further.
Hardys (the supermarket/retailer) is approximately 2kms from the villa so a taxi is recommended. It is airconditioned so is a good place to do all of your shopping and no need to barter as all items are priced.

The reception area does not give you the "wow" factor that the villas do. It feels a little underdone so could be made a little "on par" with the villas. Also note that the reception area is not close to the Jade villas (1.5 - 2 km away) so use of the restaurant/bar was never considered by us whilst we stayed there.
The only time i visited the reception (after the initial sign-in) was to print boarding passes which they charged per page. Not an issue, just something to be aware of. They will send a car to pick you up and take you to and from the reception, but the driver will require some payment.

Some areas for improvement would be -
WiFi access at the Villa (there is none), but quite a few places offer it.
Provide some in room maps of the area as well as Bali.
Additional in room safe (for bedrooms 2 and 3) for when additional couples stay.
Additional TV's for BR2 and BR3. The villa is relaxing and inviting to stay at, so for the additional people, it would be a nice touch hence me mentioning it.

The villa is lovely, recommended (especially for multiple couples/familes), clean large and the price was very good.

Room Tip: Minor noise can be heard from villa 7 which is the live music from the restaurants near by, but not...

The emerald villas in Sanur are one of three villas managed by the same group, the others are the jade villas and the golden villas. These villas are beautiful very well appointed with huge kitchens and living areas and your own private pool. All three sets of villas are in good locations and aprox, a ten minute walk from the beach. When staying you have a house keeper for 8 hours a day who will do your laundry etc we have stayed at these villas 3 times now and every time our house keeper has been amazing. They will also run errands for you and we just gave them petrol money for as well. The pools are immaculate as are the grounds and are cleaned daily. I would recommend these villas for a large family as the 3 bdrm has plenty of room and are also great for 3 couples. The bedrooms are completely separated each with their own beautiful bathrooms. I would not however stay in the 1bdrm villas as these do not have a private pool and are more like a hotel set up. But the 2 and 3 bdrm villas are fantastic private and also very easy for a person with a disability to get around as there are only a few steps. However none of the pools have a hand rail to help with getting out so we tied a rope around 1 of the column's and my husband used that to get out lol. All of these villas are close to great variety of shops, places to eat and supermarket. When booking these properties you need to negotiate the price and make sure you keep a copy of all correspondence as they have a habit of changing things on arrival this also includes which property you choose as we have booked the emerald villas and upon arrival have been taken to the jade villas.!!! Although they are of the same standard it's quite annoying as they are at opposite ends of Sanur. I hope this review is of some help when considering these properties. Kind regards Kerry .

It was a family trip for us in December 2012 and we stayed at a 2 bedroom villa here for 5 days. Absolutely fantastic facilities. You dont need any utensils, everything is available here.. Nice private swimming pool and a supermarket where you can get basic stuffs. Lots of money changers at stones throw from this place..

Pros:
1. 5 mins walk from beach. But main Sanur beach is a bit far.
2. Great maid who washed all our clothes and cleaned dishes. We didnt use her for cooking as we cooked ourselves. But the lady was very kind and helpful!
3. Fantastic private pool.
4. You can hire private taxis quite easily.
5. Food in the place is a bit expensive, but once in a while you can eat here and breakfast for us was good.

Cons:
1. A bit far from main Sanur beach..
2. Internet is costly at 12$ per day.
3. They are bit inflexible on service, but hey thats the rules of the place and its put up as well..

Overall we would definitely go back to this place if we visit Sanur, being vegans it was a pleasure to stay here as we could cook ourselves. I would say worth the money we spent here..

Room Tip: Two bedroom villas dont have aircon for the living room!
