“Charming Balinese retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2011

We had a wonderful time at Puri Mesari. It is a charming hotel with lovely landscaping and a picturesque little pool with frangipani flowers falling into it. The hotel is set a little out of the way but that makes it quiet & an excellent get away from all the hustle & bustle.

Taxis are easily available - the reception can arrange private ones (we recommend Erwin, he is a good guide, friendly & reliable) & public taxis can be flagged just outside the hotel. Bikes are also available for hire; a short ride away are the Sanur beach (to see the sunrise), tourist kiosks, restaurants etc. The Roti Prata joint on the Sanur-Denpasar highway (just as you turn into Sanur) is a good place for a meal.

Simple but adequate continental breakfast, more choice available on request. Room was clean & spacious - no television available but that was fine by us! Open bath area which was different but nothing to complain about -- the high walls ensure complete privacy. The hotel offers free wi-fi from 7am to 11pm (speed is way better in the internet room beside the restaurant).

What stands out about Puri Mesari is the personalized service which we can speak volumes about - special mention for Ms.Linda & Ms.Juni. All other staff were also extremely warm and friendly; always ready to help. They are willing to go the extra mile & never forget your name! Would we go there again? Definitely!

After 2 weeks of busy scubadiving and sightseeing we spent our last week in Puri Mesari for relexation. We experiencend it as that was the best place for us to stay there for our rest. Puri Mesari is a quietly situated hotel just not too far from the beach and the busy roads of Sanur. For us staying in Puri Mesari was an excelent finishing touch of our very beautiful holidays at Bali. We hope to stay there again in future!!

A nice hotel if you don't like the big guests factories.
More personal touch by kind staff (English speaking). Think about 20 rooms total (3 blocks, 2 levels and 2 separate upgrade villa's) during our stay half booked. Mostly Europian guests.

Has not the facilities like the for instance nearby 5* Mercure, but has the nesseciary facilities (excuse my poor English) > good bed, airco, basic breakfast, small swimming pool, wifi.
All of course for a much lower prize than the 5* Masives. More basic.
For instance: no "towel-ritual" in the morning for the beds by the pool. Relaxed atmospfere.

Entree on street level, rooms, restaurant, pool on lower level (stairs > not armchair kind) Isolated at the end of a street, but company car is (free) afailable in Sanur during daytime.
Taxi's are always nearby (cheap). Walk to the beach about 10 minutes.

Manager supports a school for poor children and teaches and directs the Brass band... so if you have sheet music, my suggestion...donate it and be a part in good work.

Hotel just starts a 2 week re-decorate and paint.

We had a great time in Bali, a couple from Holland.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the villa's if afailable (upgrade)

Puri Mesari was a small hotel but its architecture was beautiful and really special. The staff was very friendly and if jou needed something, they were ready to help you any
way. A television on the room would make the hotel more complete. It was a very quiet place to be. We had the superior room , it was clean and huge. I loved the flowers who fell down from the trees into the swimming pool, it was a romantic vieuw. I would definitely recommend
this hotel to everybody , who likes to visit bali. Me and my sister we had a great time at the
Puri Mesari.

In a very busy world, this is truely an oasis of rest, quietness and friendliness.

I stayed here for 3 weeks, with great pleasure. My room was kept very clean and I enjoyed the food in the restaurant, which is fresh and tasty. The warm coffee from their espresso machine and ice cold beers from their fridge was a daily treate.

The staff are most helpful and always friendly. When I left, the manager insisted to bring me personally to the airport. The price for this service he asked was only a "Terima kashi".

I hope to come here soon again. Reinoud

This year it was the third time that we came back to Bali and for the third time we stayed at the Puri Mesari and again it was a delight to stay there. The hospitality of the staff is great. The warm welcome you receive when you arrive makes you feel to arrive home away from home. The hotel is small, the advandtage is that all the staff knows you and you are not a number like in one of the bigger hotels. Although the rooms are basic, the bathroom was huge and has a nice outdoor experience.

The pool is centrally located, and has an inviting character, especially in the evening.

The breakfast choice is limited but the french toasts are delicious and so is the Pisang Goreng with Icecream which we took as dessert before sleeping.

The worst thing about the hotel is that you have to leave again but do not want to go.

This was our first hotel in Bali and now we realise how lucky we were! The staff at Puri Mesari were wonderful - they helped us reserve restaurants, spa experiences and taxis. The pool was the nicest in Bali - the temperature was perfect. We spent a lot of time around the pool. The food was great. The staff were very accommodating. The resort itself is a few minutes walk from the main street. We didn't find it a problem - we did catch a lot of bluebird taxis though because it was so hot in the day and the taxis were so cheap. We got brand new pool towels which were lovely. The room was very comfortable - the air conditioning was a welcome relief to the midday sun. The bed was large - my only request would be a mosquito net, but there were really few mosquitos in the room considering it's Bali and there was so much water around. The bathroom was lovely (outside but covered). The gardens at the resort are stunning. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, we can't wait to return. We will very happily recommend to our friends. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Room Tip: Some rooms are right on the pool so if you prefer more privacy, make sure to ask.
