My wife and I spent sixteen days at the Hotel Sanur Beach. On arrival the check-in service was very good and we were upgraded to a deluxe garden facing room (526). The swimming pools are large and clean and there are plenty of sun lounges.Breakfast is really good with a large variety to choose from. The downside in the restaurant is the monumental number of people (europeans) who smoke whilst eating.Gross.I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a very good hotel in a good location.

Hotel very good although our bedroom was a little tired. Clean and very friendly staff with good food. Beautiful grounds and right on beach. Not best beach in the world and not much good for swimming (sea goes out long way). Beach restaurants few yards away are very good and lots of choice of restaurants on main road. All in all we had a lovely holiday.

My husband and I went to Bali from New Zealand and stayed at Sanur Beach Hotel for 7days, the room was excellent and the service very good, we ate in one of the three restaurants in the evening and found the service and the food to be very good and reasonable priced the hotel is near to the small shops of sanur .The hotel has 2 very good swimming pools and is on the sea, which is also very good to swim in.
I could not fault anything about the hotel.

We stayed for 10 nights and overall we had a very good stay. You have to remember you are in Indonesia so some things need to be overlooked. I had requested a quiet non-smoking room and that's exactly what we had. I hope people that visit Bali will remember that there is much more to the island than Kuta, Sanur and Nusa Dua. Just outside the hotel there are numerous people offering transport at a great price so it is so easy to get out and about. Relaxing, having a drink (sitting on a swing) and chatting to other guests at the Bamboo Beach Bar (especially during their Happy Hour!) is a must, especially after a long day of sightseeing.

I booked via email in January for 2 interconnecting rooms (2 adults and 3 kids) non smoking and got exactly the rooms I asked for with the second room discounted 50% during the high season. Yes the Hotel is a little old and tardy in a few places but it is clean and a nice place to relax. The2 pools are really good and you don't have to fight for a sunbed. The buffet breakfast which is included was tasty and never crowded as they serve the breakfast in 2 locations.
There are plenty of good cheap restaurants walking distance of the hotel both on the street and the beach footpath. The shuttle bus leaves on the hour and picks you up half past the hour to Hardy's Supermarket which is a good spot to fill your fridge up with beer and food. The price of a large Bintang beer at Hardy's is 21,000 rupiah and it is 32,000 rupiah at the hotel bars so the hotel is pretty reasonably priced.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would stay there again. The last few recent negative reviews were mainly complaining about lost items and petty complaints. I went and had a look at the Dynasty Hotel in Kuta which is where we where originally were going to book and glad we didn't stay there as it was too busy and overcrowded unlike the Sanur Beach which was much more relaxed and with much friendlier staff. Don't worry go ahead and book, you'll enjoy it.

Myself and my Wife stayed here just recent in july on our honeymoon and we had big expectations about Bali and the Hotel as we had already been to thailand and Austrailia and were looking to really relax.

The hotel is decent if a little bit dated but has very good facilities in a large complex and the staff are smiley and friendly. But not all of them

Things turned sour for us though on our first day. About 5pm at the small square pool we decided to leave for our room and forgot to lift our Camera. We only discovered it missing 2 hrs later when we were leaving our room to go for dinner.

This is were the trouble started for us. We searched the pool area and asked at the reception but the camera and Memory cards plus all our honeymoon photos were gone. We reported then to the duty manager, we told him that it could have been a member of staff that lifted it and to check his staff before asking guests. He flat blankly accused us of racism and told us that all his staff were honest and checked on leaving the hotel!! he didnt care about us, and proceeded to suspect that the camera was in our room and that we either were hiding it or were too stupid to find it! So he and 6 other security staff searched our room our private things etc. it was very upsetting for my wife and me.

So after no camera was found he decided then to ask his staff rather than interrogate! Of course he said no-one seen it!I had to appeal for poster to be made to alert the public - even that was a trial. all we got was no assistance. Every time we passed by his desk there after he blatantly seen us but kept his head down. They just didnt want to help.

We accept that forgetting the camera in a public pool area was our fault but the pool has no security camera nor is their any measures to stop people walking in off the beach!! security is so lax.. a camera would have resolved the issue immediately.

We can only guess that either a guest or a Member of staff took the camera. Mosts guest have their own cameras -and with balinese staff on very crap pay it on figures that it probably was taken by staff.

It ruined our stay and left us feelin very uncomfortable - I would appeal to anyone who was staying at the hotel from wednesday 21st of July that may have seen or even lifted the camera to return the memory cards if they are still intact.. The camera was a Panasonic Lumix DMC LZ10 with a sandisk 2GB and Kingston 4GB SD cards .We have offered GBP200 reward for their return with or without the camera.

We were very disappointed at the lack of support and assitance and the diabolical security even during a ministerial visit for a big big seminar that week! the place was crawling with police - For anyone who wishes to stay here on holiday beware that valuable items will be stolen..

I dont really rate Bali as a Holiday Destination - its very run down and you get pestered every two steps wherever you walk. I've never been in a more money grabbing place. We are ordinary people and respect wherever are and the people in it. but as guest in a Hotel we expect to be taken seriously and efforts made on our behalf.

I hope someone who knows something will read this and shed some light on our loss.
