“Great location”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

On arrival we were shown to our room which was dark and overlooking the roof of a bungalow below.Disappointed as we had booked a long time ago and thought this room was one of the worst at the resort. After spending one night there we asked to be moved to a bungalow, which was worth the extra money. The bunglows have a far better outlook and we enjoyed are time there so much more. The room was Ok and not as bad as some of the reports I had read before leaving home. Breakfast OK. I did think that the pools were not the suitable for children. Overall a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Go for a bungalow

Our first trip to the east and the tropics. When we stepped off the plane we thought the jet engines were still going. The Besakih Beach Resort is a great place to stay. The buildings and rooms are exotic. The gardens are sprouting, budding and flowering all at the same time on the same plant. The sea and pool is good for bathing. Try the elephant pool is you want to relax. There is art work all around reminding you, you are on a tropical island. The restaurant has a good range of food and the service is impeccable. Try a tropical smoothie - YUM. The resort can organise island tours for you. Hire cars are also available. We had an enjoyable 10 day holiday here and will return some day.

Room Tip: All rooms look out onto manicured tropical gardens

We have just returned from 6 days at the Besakih and once again we had a wonderful time, we took my Mum (84) with us and my brother. As per usual everyone was friendly and it was so good to catch up with old friends again, and I dont mean just the staff. We love staying at the Besakih and have no complaints about it. Yes the rooms are looking tired but the atmosphere that surrounds the place just cannot be bought. Thanks again to everyone involved in making our holiday special

Room Tip: The bungolows are really quite pleasant to stay in if you can get one, but we have stayed in each of...

Been here a few times in the past and found to be satisfactory.Whilst we found normal complaints as in most Bali hotels(i.e.)Desk reception, bathroom odours, faulty taps, hard beds, etc. etc. etc. we found that we really enjoyed ourselves despite the above. Most staff very friendly and
go to great lengths to satisfy your requirements.Breakfast had not much variety unless you liked eggs and thats about it.Lunch was ok and passed the test.Never had dinner there as the Hotel is right in the centre of most restaurants which more than satisfied our requirements.
The real focus of this hotel is the location,on the beach and the trees overhead which when laying on deck chairs you really think you are in paradise.Would love to go there AGAIN & AGAIN!!

stayed for 4 nights last week. had a superb stay. on our request, they gave us a ground floor room right next to the pool and restaurant which was very convenient for us as we had our 2 year old with us. staff was very pleasant and helpful. always eager to please. we will definitely return here in the future. the property is by far the best in the immediate stretch of the beach. room was spacious. the only feedback i would give is to have more modern electrical points and at the correct places. for example, they had an electric kettle in the room but there was no way that the wire would reach the closest plug socket. so when we asked them the solution, they simply came and asked us to place the electric kettle on the floor in one corner of the room! though this is a relatively minor point, its these small things which go a long way for an overall experience.

We just had 3 great nights at the Besakih, and our first time at Sanur. The grounds were lush and green and very well looked after. We arrived late and were welcomed warmly and shown to our rooms. The staff are very friendly and are very attentive. There is a small pond with turtles, which the kids enjoyed. The beach is very clean and peaceful to laze the day away admiring the ocean view. There is a long bicycle/walking path along the beachfront outside of the hotel, which made walking on the path a little less enjoyable due to the many bikes, but not really a big deal. The pool was lovely and not too many people. We had a few meals at the resort and enjoyed them all. There wasn't a huge choice at breakfast, but we loved our freshly cooked omelettes each morning. We would happily stay here again.

Had a wonderful 3 weeks again at Besakih, we have stayed many times before, yes its old, but for the regulars you are aware of this, its the STAFF that make this hotel and of course the hotel dog, Betsy and the hotel cat, Mannis, both of them also provide great service to all hotel guests, they come and visit you and sit outside your room awaiting your return. I have read other peoples post and can understand what they are saying, but go speak to the staff, they are so accommodating and happy to swap your room to ensure that you experience the real Besakih.

Room Tip: go for the bungalows in the front section on the lush gardens near reception ( these are renovated)
