“Great Place With Kids”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

We have been staying at the Suites for the past five years and have seen lots of changes in that time - the only thing that doesnt change is the staff!
This last trip it was great to see the renovations to the kids club, the new bar in the pool area, renovations to the restraunt and the new gate.
The bar and DJ around the pool have really added to the atmosphere at happy hour!

Dont be put off by the location!
Our family loves this hotel and our kids feel at home. Thanks again Plaza Suites - we will be back again soon.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms on the ground floor.

This is the first time we have stayed at the Paradise Plaza Suites and I would highly recommend it to people. We stayed in the 3 bedroom loft apartment, it was huge. Lots of room for the 6 of us. We weren't all stuck on top of each other, like you are in a normal hotel room. The kids pool with the water slide was fantastic, my two boys would have stayed there all day if we let them. All the Camp Splash pool staff are amazing, they keep all the kids safe and under control. All the staff at the hotel were very accommodating. The roof leaked in the upstairs bedroom during a very heavy storm, and they were there to fix it as soon as we called them. They were very apologetic for the inconvenience. The breakfast each morning was really good and fairly varied. There is something for everyone. We only ate dinner at the hotel on the first night and it was ok. The restaurants in Sanur are better value. It costs about $3 each way to get to dinner. We would definitely stay at the Paradise Plaza Suites again. Great way to spend to weeks. The only thing that caught us out was the taxes added on to the nightly room charge, it added on an extra couple of hundred dollars. I booked directly through the hotel and didn't pay until we left. So just remember to check out total cost not just the room rate. But other than that it was great.

Thank you for your positive review on the Trip Advisor website. We are very happy that you enjoyed your holiday with us. The rooms are very spacious and we are also pleased that the kids enjoyed the waterslide. When booking directly on our website, we do display our rates without the tax and the service charge. Before confirming the reservation the total charge is highlighted including the tax and service charge. We do apologies if you missed this, as it is not our intention to mislead our guests when making a reservation. We do hope to welcome you back for your second visit soon.

We arrived quite late on a Sunday night, but we were still greeted with a refreshing drink, a cool cloth and tonnes of warmth and enthusiasim, whilst being walked through all of the vouchers for the day spa, breakfast, ice creams, laundry, etc.

Our 2 BR apartment was a tad run down and in need of a lick of paint, but it was spotless and was cleaned to satisfaction every day. The rooms are kept very cool with air conditioning in both bedrooms and the main living area; a welcome relief after the hot and humid conditions which can take a few days to adjust to.

The 20L water cooler / heater (water hot enough for tea) was well received. The two refills duting our 8-day stay were complimentary. The 4 small bintangs in the fridge were also duly drank. Would have been nice to have a small UHT milk for tea / coffee.

The grounds are kept immaculate and the pools are fantastic. Our 6 year old brags that she spent at least 6 hours a day swimming and riding the waterslide (which was duly enjoyed by the parents too... as were the two separate 2 for 1 happy hours, 2pm-4pm on specific drinks and 4pm-6pm from the entire cocktail menu).

The Terrace restaurant was below-par. The food was bad. I'm not expecting a three hat/star experience, let alone one, but it's definitely something that could improve... at the very least to keep guests eating there. We ate there once for our free meal (waited 30 mins for dessert... ice cream) and again for a 'western buffet' consisting of flaccid wedges and tough chicken and beef. At IDR178,000 (kids 1/2 price)... that was more than enough and we gladly found better quality, more satisfying meals (both Indonesian and western food) for far less in Sanur. I don't know why these places fail to capitalise on celebrating Indonesian cuisine... not just average versions of warung-style nasi campur, nasi goreng, mee goreng. I'm sure if The Terrace offered a night of babi guling, betutu, iga babi with rice and urap... they'd kick a massive goal keeping people eating in the resort. Breakfast every day was good... fresh fruit (pineapple, honeydew melon, watermelon, papaya) and the tastiest, tiniest bananas ever. Eggs to order and bacon aplenty.

The inhouse spa was OK, but at heavily inflated prices. When places start quoting goods or services in USD, look elsewhere. We found a great places for massages out the back gate on the way to the main drag for IDR30,000 for 30 mins. Bargain! On that point, be prepared to pay up to 4 times 'normal' costs in the hotel. That's just how it is. We get that.

Staff were fantastic. I suffered some severe gastro and because of a pre-existing condition, I took myself off to BIMC hospital at 4:30 one morning (turn around trip of less than 2 hours... try that in Australia). Later in the day, we received a lovely surprise of a fruit basket, compliments of Sanur Paradise Plaza Suites' Management and a card, wishing me well; a lovely gesture. Baby-sitting was also arranged, on notice. Yugi, who worked in the kids club, was our baby sitter on all three occasions. She was wonderful! Speaking of the kids club, it was a bit disappointing that the scheduled kids events just didn't happen. I don't know why.

Shame the gate wasn't open until later. We would have preferred walking to Sanur of an early evening for dinner, rather than take the long way around, which wasn't all that great via foot.

The late checkout option for USD95 was excellent value. Highly recommended. Paying an extra IDR600,000 to stay an extra 4 hours til 10pm was also worth it, given our flight home was delayed a couple of hours. Spending as much time so late, in comfort, with a 3 and 6 year old was a priority. Much better than the airport.

Overall, we'd receommend Sanur Paradise Plaza Suites and we'd definitely stay here again. Most definitely best for families who are looking for some downtime, a pool and some cocktails.

Room Tip: Our rooms were 2nd level, with windows looking out over the main pool... not that noisy.

Thank you four positive 4/5 review on the TripAdvisor website. We are very pleased that you enjoyed the services and facilities and was disappointed that your felt that food was not up to standard, we will be looking at ways in improving this. We also hope that you have fully recovered from your illness. We are pleased the kids enjoyed the water slide while you had drinks around the pool. Our philosophy is “if the kids are happy the parents will be happy too” We do look forward to welcoming you back again on your next visit to Bali.

You simply cont fault this place. It had amazing facilities, the staff were happy to help at anytime and very friendy. Easy aces to Sanur village and local eateries. The restaurant food was delicious. If you didn't feel like walking, there was a free shuttle bus to get you into town. Great for a family holiday, for a couples holiday or any holiday overall.

Excellent water slide for the kids. Happy hour was great for the adults. The hotel was expensive to eat at so we ate in Sanur which was a 10-15 minute walk or a three dollar taxi. Good location in Sanur. Would be handy if the back gate was open longer. 6.30am - 8.30pm would be better to allow a walk to breakfast in Sanur or a walk back from dinner out. We liked the supply of drinking water in the suites.

4th time to this great hotel and it continues to please :)

We enjoyed having a pool view room once again as we can keep an eye on the children when they head down to the pool ahead of us. It was great to see the many friendly faces once again....I feel that we have made some great friends with the staff, after 12 months they all remembered us and new our names.
We had a 2 bedroom suite which is great as there is plenty of room for a family, the kids loved having their own bathroom and bedroom. We could put the kids to bed and still continue to entertain with friends and have a few quite drinks in the living area and the balcony.

The back gate that is now open longer hours is great if you need to run down to Hardy's or the shops ......The renovations to the restaurant and spa are fantastic. Happy Hour that went for 4 hours was a great fun part of many of our days. The pool and Camp Splash are always a big hit with all ages. We utilised Camp Splash a few times this visit and it was great to know that our kids were fully supervised, fed and even sunscreen applied while we went shopping and had lunch away from the Hotel.

The overall service provided from the many staff ( Management, Reception, Maintenance, Cleaners, Bar Staff, Camp Splash Staff, Grounds keepers, Restaurant) should be highly commended

I would like to once again thank all staff in providing a great Hotel to stay.
We look forward to planning our next stay with you.
