“Quick Trip but Watch the Weather!”
Reviewed January 26, 2014

We took this boat to get to Gili T from the mainland and when we left the weather didn't look so bad but when we got out into the open water the clouds came in and the wind started blowing. At some points the boat lifted completely out of the water when it wasn't smashing heavily off the waves. People in the back were getting sick so I can only imagine that it was worse in the back end (we sat at the very front). The only problem with the front was that there were no windows and it was stiflingly hot! It was horrible boat ride but we eventually made it there. We were not looking forward to the return trip a few days later but the weather was great that day and there were no issues at all, smooth sailing. This is definitely one of the quickest and safest ways to get to the islands but be prepared for a bumpy ride if the ocean is turning.

“Shady Service”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Booked this boat to get from Serangan to Gili T. and back. While travelling to Gili there was no problem at all: we were picked up by a driver (In time!), the boat left with only little delay, and as the wether was nice we were allowed to sit on the roof, which was awesome (especially as it diminished my sea sickness). However getting back was a nightmare, showing the absence of service of the Gili Getaway. While checking in we were offered another ticket 'for another and even faster boat, leaving the same time'. However soon it appeared the original boat was overbooked (how can a 24-place boat overbook at least 9 people?), and our replacement boat only left few hours later. When we tried to contact or find the manager, he just went into hiding, not exactly what a manager is supposed to do....

Really good fast boat! Took us less than 2hours to reach Padangbai from Gili T. Good price and good service from the staff!

“Fast boat”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

We took the fastboat from Bali to Gili Trawangan. We were staying too far away for them to pick us up, but they were helpful in organizing a place for us to meet the shuttle. The boat was fast and there were no problems with seasickness (I think the journey from lombok/gilis back to Bali is a bit rougher). Although they were more expensive, they were also more professional than the fastboat service we used to return. Also, when we were stuck with all our luggage on Gili Trawangan while waiting a few hours for the public boat, they let us keep our bags in the office while we explored a bit. However, be careful - one of the staff members tried to tell us chartering the Gili Cat boat to Gili Air was cheaper than taking the public boat (it's definitely not).

“Efficient and Safe”
Reviewed December 24, 2013

Since the international airport was moved from Mataram this is by far the easiest and cheapest way to get from The Gilis to Bali. The boats are clean with refreshments available and take just over two hours. The crossing is quite rough so sitting is inside. It is a boring two hours or so but by far the best way to get to and from The Gilis and also the safety standards are to European levels
