I first met Anna 6 years ago when I was on an overseas posting to Bali and since then we have become good friends. That aside, the food served here is amazing. The Soto Ayam, Mee Goreng, Nasi Goreng - I even had Anna cater once for a lunch at my villa - her range of cooking is amazing. She is a lovely genuine sweet person, extremely kind and dining there is like dining at someone's home. Yes, there may be times when the service is abit slow because of the number of guests or something may go wrong as one reviewer no doubt found unbearable but this happens in any restaurant and dont forget that you are not paying 5 star restaurant prices here, just honest, genuine home cooked food where you sit down and chat with the cook, owner who soon becomes a friend and it is part of the experience of being in Bali - that really, if you have to wait a few extra minutes etc, so what, there are more serious things in life to worry about than sitting in a warung and having a great time. Anna and her husband Komang are a wonderful couple and if you approach their warung as if you're going to someone's home for a meal, you will enjoy the experience. I know I always do. In a world of exclusive and pretentious restaurants, high end prices, celebrity chefs, expensive bills, it's nice to know there are places like Warung Anna where you can, on any given day, sit at a table, enjoy delicious Balinese food, have a chat and a laugh, and on a rainy day, watch the rain fall and realise that life aint so bad after all
