Old huge hotel complex. The garden is just so beautiful. Three pool areas. We had a garden wing room facing to one ogåf the pool areas. We're supposed to have a cottage but something went wrong. They poromised to change it but we were quite happy to stay and nit bother to move agåfter a very long trip, the beac was awsome. Breakfast was excellent (got a breakfast box because of early leaving last morning). Had a tour to see the seaside cottage in order to decide where to stay nex time. Room was big. AC was just fine. Fridge was cold. Toilet was really vöchallenging. Lot's of flushing involved! Bicycles where much more expensive than outside. Wecoming drink wasquite lame. Besides it would be nicer to enjoy it in the beach bar. All the staff were just awsome. Friendly and efficient! Looking forward to coming again:)

Room Tip: The other garden wing is under renovatio and hopefully is going to be modern. But as said the outsid...

This is a very old hotel and it seems like the management didn't bother to take care of it. The hotel floors and doors are really old, some of the light buttons in the room were not working, there were cobwebbs under the tables, and almost everything in the bathroom was rusty. The view of the beach and pool from the room is great. Its unfortunate that the management didn't do anything to keep it looking like a 5 star hotel. It is more like 3 star standard.

I spent 5 nights at this hotel and really liked it! It could do with some refurbishment of the bathrooms but the view was lovely (9th floor, and in Bali they don't allow hotels to be this tall/high anymore), and the facilities were nice--an assortment of indoor and outdoor restaurants ( yay for beach front restaurants), easy to get taxis because of the scale of the place...and the location, right along the beach path can't be beat.

It was bliss waking up early and seeing the tide out...every day walking the path and checking out the variety of art that Johnny (down the way) had to sell--he's from Ubud (he learned painting from his parents) and sells a range but had a few nice (small) paintings he'd done that I snapped up and had him frame (not all wood frames are the same). He also arranged for a glass-bottom boat to come in and take me across the shoal to see the most amazing fish...The guide threw some bread in and the clownfish were amazing: swarming and storming the food. Next time, I'll have my snorkel and mask with me. I was traveling alone and had gotten the feeling I'd have to be in a group to book a boat, but Johnny got me my own, and it was a blast. I highly recommend the adventure!

I enjoyed chatting with the shopkeepers on the ground floor of the hotel, and I loved the breakfast--esp the Balinese/Indonesian fare (and sweets wrapped in leaves!). It would get quite crowded though (This was over new years). There was a required New Year's Eve fete, which was a bit surreal, but the staff was excited and it was a bit infectious.

Because you are at a huge hotel, it was easy to get a cab to Hardy's, a supermarket and shopping venue worth visiting.
I'd say my room itself was more of a 3* but the hotel management is gradually refurbishing the property, so I expect it will keep getting better. I adored my view but I also thought the 'garden' rooms which are all nearer the beach and look quite comfortable would be ones that I might choose if I were with friends or family.
There was no furniture on my balcony, so every evening I'd pull a chair out of the room to enjoy the dusk.
I did have one complaint though: the room next door had apparently had room service and left their dishes out. When i returned to my room, there was a trail of ants marching to my door! of course, bugs are everywhere in a climate like Bali's, so I sprayed them down with my mosquito spray, but I hope they'll be a bit more attentive to that kind of thing.

Overall: it was peaceful. There are a number of pools and restaurants, and it's a nice quiet part of Bali to enjoy. A stone's throw from the Le Mayeur Museum and for me, a fine place to shake off Hong Kong and start my visit to this magical place.

Room Tip: High floor if solo, a garden cottage? if with someone to hang on your patio with?

I was in Bali for a conference and the organizers picked up this hotel for the participants. Overall the hotel is well positioned in Sanur and have a beautiful access to the beach but needs quite a renovation. My room on the 9 floor was spacious and overlooked the sea - what a morning view! The decor is typically Balinese so don't expect a standard all-included Hilton style hotel (but who wants something like that in Bali right?). I was put down by the breakfast, absolutely not in line with the standing of the hotel. And by the rather debatable level of cleanness in the common spaces. One day I found the rest of cigarettes on the floor next to the elevator. The morning after they were still there. The hotel was packed with loads of tourist buses coming and going, so if you want a relax environment for a romantic gateway, choose another place. Plus on the swimming pool, the best part of the whole experience. Spacious, clean and well taken care of. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful hotel in Sanur, Bali. Very impressive main lobby. It has an interesting statue of "Rajapalak". Request one of the staff to tell you the story behind this legend. It has it's own private beach which makes it very convenient to go for a morning walk or romantic by the moonlight with your loved one.You will find the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Unfortunately most of the toilets in the rooms could do with better housekeeping. Value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view, obviously.

We had a room with a view. Sea view to be exact. An old, yet very pleasant hotel with direct access to the beach. The corridors were a tad too dark, though. Fairly priced. All in all, it's a great option…highly recommended!

I stayed in this hotel for holiday with my family. We got a nice suite room for three of us, the bath up looked outdated and some part of wall need to be painted. Surprisingly the breakfast was not good for a 5 star class hotel but the staff were friendly. The best part of the hotel was the beach at the back and big garden surround it.
This hotel was very close to mak beng's restaurant, our fav place for lunch (they have the best fish soup in town)
