“A little bit of an oasis alright!”
Reviewed August 6, 2013 via mobile

We arrived quite late to the Oasis hotel, where we were greeted by smiling faces all round. Upon a swift check in we were shown to our room. I would strongly recommend a pool access room, especially one that gets the sun in the morning, so be sure to ask for this on check in.
People tend to bang the hotel doors which is extremely noisy especially at night. Perhaps some sort of sealing could be stuck to the inside door frames to reduce this problem.
The buffet breakfast is very good and really westerners cant complain, there is even a little variation every morning. Yes, it does tend to cater a lot for the Asian market but there's plenty of choice for everyone. There is an egg station which you could miss out on, it's at the bottom of a few steps leading out towards the side entrance of the hotel.
The staff were always helpful and advised us on many things during our stay. There is a beach shuttle service which you have to book in advance, to and from the beach. It is very reliable, tho the walk is only about 7-10 minutes. They supply beach towels also.
Hardy's shop next door has everything you may need while on holiday. The hotel has many good restaurants nearby so is well situated. The biggest advice I can give to wine lovers that are coming to Bali is , Bring Your Own!!! We found wine to be very expensive, even in the supermarket, this is due to the % of alcohol which corresponds to the high level of tax imposed by the government. Beer is the better choice by far.

Stayed in a pool access room mainly for easy access of pool, it did cost an extra $30aud per night privacy is limited as adults and children park themselves on the steps leading to your room and think nothing of it!! The water was so cold we never used it...., this is because the pool has only early morning sun the rest of the day its in the shade.

We used the beach club more, but you had to be down there around 10.30 to be able to acquire a sun lounge, some guests went down to the beach club early and reserved sun lounges then went back to hotel for breakfast!!
Breakfast for our taste was quite limited there was a very limited selection we have had much better in a 4* hotel. Rooms are nice and spacious clean bedding and towels every day if you require and 2 small bottles of water. I was looking forward to using the fitness centre it consists of a dilapidated bike and an treadmill !! so that was disappointing for me.

The staff are very obliging and quite pleasant... The location is good plenty of lovely restaurant's just a short walk away. Mona Lisa, Cheeky Parrot are two that we would recommend....next door is Hardy's supermart where you can buy groceries , clothing and much more
We would not stay here again better hotels around for less tariff we had a late check out 5pm instead of 12pm it cost an extra $40aud.

Close to restaurants. Had back room on level 1 with own private pool. Next door to Hardy's super market. Staff are friendly.
Pools all one depth and ours too deep for my wife. Room in need of maintenance - door catch lock broken, Glass shower door needs adjustment. Very noisy for sleeping with Hardy's Air conditioning roaring all night.

Studio appartements are nice and spacious as they are at the end of the hallway. Therefore internetreach is a littlebit less. Wifi codes change everyday and is the best in the lobby.
The location is perfect for walking to all the restaurants in the street and next to Hardy's (a convenient store). Pitty the hotel does not provide for bycicles. Rain shower is very nice.
Style of the hotel is modern, but in the room there's no way that you can feel that you are in Bali. Could be anywhere in the world.

Room Tip: rooms 3304,3303, 3302 and 3301 are overviewing the lobby and benefit from a seebreeze.

One of my worst hotel experiences ever....
Very noisy at all times, instead of "closing", doors are "slamming".
Breakfast is very mediocre for a 4* hotel.
We hired a driver with whom the hotel has a partnership with and this was the WORST driver of all times (extremely rude and not professional at all).
Sanur in itself is NOT the best place to go to in Bali.
Stay away if you can!

Already stayed twice ( total 4 nights) in this hotel. Next to supermarket, and many restaurants around there. The facility is not traditional Balinese one, but woody and cozy. Better to choose a room on ground floor that has direct access to pool.

The worst 4 star hotel I have stayed at ever.
Good and bad points about the Oasis Lagoon Sanur.

Bad points
-Stains (brown stains) on the sheets when we used the bed for the first time. Staff come up to room with many sheets and quilt covers to change the sheets and they could not find a set of sheets that were cleaned with out stains. They had to get the brand new sheets out of the packet.
-Beds were as hard as the floor. Could only sleep on our back as if we slept on side or front our backs would be so sore in the morning. We stayed in a deluxe room and for some reason they had two single beds put together.
-Noisy. Entry door and balcony doors were not sealed. We could hear noise from the outside of our room when trying to sleep. We could hear people walking past the entry door, noise from room above us, we could hear people in the pool. Not good if you can't block the noise out when trying to sleep.
-Cleanliness of room, old used shower cap left on hook in bathroom, floor had dirt on it, looks like they were not swept before mopped, towels had stained, shower recess was not cleaned properly.
-Shower waste water did not drain away until the shower floor recess filled up with water.
-Not enough beach / pool towels. Had to wait some time to get pool towels.
-Breakfast was lacking choices, plates look clean but had to brush small crumbs off.
-Staff not very helpful and often we felt they were rude.

Good things
Close to Hardy's shop (Shops - cloths, food, etc)
