“Cheapest dinner, good atmosphere”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

Many travelers are scared of eating in local markets because of a)hygiene concerns, b)communication problems (what does that mountain of unidentified foodstuff contain and how spicy is it? )

To address the first concern, I can say I never had any stomach problems after eating at this market (or any other street food place in Indonesia).
As for the second thing, Pasar Sindhu is actually quite tourist-friendly, with many stalls having photos and descriptions in English of the unidentified food mounds :-)
And of course, very friendly locals to chat with.

I recommend the chocolate-banana pancakes for dessert, but make sure you share cause it's huuuuge!

“Traditional and Delicious Night Food Market”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

We sometimes look for dinner at Pasar Sindhu as they have variety of foods. Might get here approximately at around 6 p.m. So we won't have to queue long for the food we want.

The dangdut music might be unbearable for some stages, as we need to speak louder.

The market has everything basic essential food what we need and/or fruits. A must to go for those wanted to experience traditional Balinese/ Indonesian fresh market.

Returned again to the local food market to be pleasantly surprised to discover that the area has been redeveloped and opened out....excellent food; great prices; fast; the smells are superb !!! Local foods are 10,000 up to 25,000 rp; seafood more expensive. A great nasi gor for 10,000; fried chicked with heaps of veges and nasi; 25,000; great fresh juices 6-7,000; heaps of locals and more and more expats and travellers.....well worth the visit
