“Nice little restaurant on main street”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

I liked the setting, friendly staff and good value for money as well as the reasonable quality of their food and their evening entertainment program. Close to Bumas Hotel.

“Best Rendang at a restaurant in Sanur”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

This small restaurant has an extensive menu. The service was good and the food was superb. I had the beef rendang which was very very good. The fruit juice was icy cold as was the Bintang. The do a 17 and 21 course Rijstaffel (available for lunch or dinner) which looks magnificent. A cool restaurant with good food, decor and staff. I shall return next year for the Rijstaffel without hestitation

“Music an attraction”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

We had passed by several times and thought a dinner visit to be the best bet as they had excellent music. Whilst it is in a great location we were let down by the food or our choices maybe. We tried to eat local cuisine everywhere. Here we found it a little bland and disappointing. As with all places we ate the staff were good and attentive.

“A bit disappointed”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

I reviewed this restaurant last year and gave it a really good review - unfortunately a year can make a big difference. First night out in Sanur this year was going to be to savour the flavours of a favourite restaurant. A disappointment was in store for me. Disappointment 1. The spring rolls were delivered with a 'tomato sauce' masquerading as a chilli type sauce. Disppointment 2. Ayam Betutu - not very good at all. Daging Rendang was OK, but overall the meal left us flat. Either it was an 'off' night for the kitchen or my expectations were too high. Either way I will try again next year and hopefully things have improved. I hope so, because the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is great.

“An enjoyable lunch”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

We were walking along the road to see if we could find one of the 3 restauarnts we'd written down from Balieats, and there it was!! Bonus, not to far to walk at all. I would've liked to try the Rijstaffel but wasnt really that hungry so settled for the Beef Rendang instead. Having noted that the majority of 'local' eateries tend to tone down the spicyness of their dishes we asked for 'local style spicy' and thats what we got. Very tasty. The meat was a little on the tough side but still edible. At least it was a decent Rendang and not just a sloppy beef stew you tend to get anywhere else.
