We stayed at the Puri Maharani for 1 night as a stopover on our way to Lembongan. The hotel arranged pick-up from the airport (additional cost) but we were greeted with a cooling welcome drink on our arrival. The room we stayed in was quite good but perhaps a little dated and in need of some slight renovations to the bathroom, but adequate all the same. The hotel grounds themselves are beautiful and although located on a busy street, you wouldn't really know it. If we wanted to spend some time exploring Sanur, I probably wouldn't pick this hotel as it seems to be a bit out of town, although they do provide regular free shuttles from the hotel.

Room Tip: Some rooms are located right near the swimming pool - best to avoid if you don't want people han...

lovely small hotel, staff are wonderful, rooms are nice, needs more English speaking channels on TV, has shuttle to beach but is too far from shops to walk too, so your are reliant on the hotel for everything unless you get a taxi everywhere and no one knows where the hotel is so you have to explain the location and guide every taxi to the hotel. Very nice hotel just to chill out but if you want to go out and about it can be a nusiance to constantly get taxi's everywhere.

This hotel is miles away from anywhere. If you rent a bike it will only take 10 mins to downtown but if you want to drink you need to pay 30-50k each way in a taxi to get to the good restaurants. The hotel itself is quite nice but all the poolside groundfloor rooms have mold and smell musty which let's the hotel down badly. The manager is a nice guy and will help you with anything you need. All in all it's ok here but there are far better places available.

My wife and I had booked 4 nights at the hotel and had a fantastic first 24 hours. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the location was just right for us being a little bit away from the centre of Sanur and back from the road. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with a nice pool and restaurant. The room was a good size and very comfortable. The Bathroom perhaps needed a bit more air but was otherwise nicely done out. A shuttle bus provides free transport to the beach on a regular basis. They have a lovely little spa which gave us both a great hot stone massage. Its the perfect getaway for couples.

Unfortunately, on our second day a group of teenaged school children arrived and filled most of the other rooms. Although they were very well behaved the noise caused by this, particularly in the pool (we had a poolside room) forced us to leave. The management were very apologetic and did offer us a room away from the pool but the hotel was too small to escape such a large group. Might be worth checking before you book if any large groups are staying in case this is a regular occurrence. If not, its a great little hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid the poolside rooms as you will hear everything.

We stayed here for a week over Easter and were very well taken care of by the staff of Puri Maharani. As well as tending to our every need, they helped organise a day trip around the island and took us to the Merpati office in Denpasar for free to sort out our onward airline tickets to Lombok.

It was a superbly relaxing place with the Balinese music and gentle flow of the fountain into the swimming pool set amongst beautiful gardens. Breakfast was tasty and the library was well stocked. Yes, it is far from the beach, but they take you down and arrange for you to be picked up at your discretion.

We would definitely return to the Puri Maharani.
