“Hidden Gem on the beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2011

Great little seafood in southern Sanur. First ate here in 2010 and really enjoyed the food and laid back atmosphere. Probably the best value for money for seafood in Southern Bali. Drinks also very reasonable. Araks on the large side. Really enjoyed their curries too.

“What a find!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2011

Cafe Kesuma is a great find. You will get a fabulous seafood meal, sit on the beach with your feet in the sand, and you can still manage to catch a sunset from this side of the island too!
We ate a whole fish and the jumbo prawns, served with chips and a yummy serving of their water spinach. The whole meal was well under $30 such a bargain!
The staff are very attentive also, great service.
On the beach front at the southern end of Sanur, go out of your way to find it, it's worth your while!
PS - in the past we have bought lobsters from the fish markets and taken them here to be cooked for a small price. Indulgence at a very low cost!!

“Enjoy the delicous (and cheap) chicken sate with your feet in the sand”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2011

We went here twice, first time in August 2009, last time in August 2011.
Toilet has been improved, new and clean towels/soap to wash your hands.
Food still cheap and delicious, inr. 35.000 for a delicous chicken saté with rice, I think the best we had on our Bali trip. Of course this is not a 4/5 star place, but the atmosphere and value for money is incredible, therefore my maximum ranking. Lovely staff, quiet place.
Located nearly at the end of the boulevard, in Sanur south.
Will certainly go back again.

“Still great and fantastic value.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2011

This was my 2nd trip here and I wanted to show some of our group that you don't have to spend the sort of money needed to finance a revolution to enjoy good seafood on the beach in Bali.

It was a bit windy this evening so we ate 'indoors'. Still in the sand, but a bit more covered and sheltered from the elements.

Our thoroughly delicious meal for 6 people included over a kilo of king prawns, 2kg of 'red snapper', 2 large plates of grilled calamari, salads, vegetables, chips and a few drinks for Rp 730,000 (about AUD 80).

A similar meal at any one of the 'rip-off' joints at Jimbaran Bay would have cost 4 times that amount if not more, and the quality wouldn't have been even close.

Want good inexpensive seafood?
Go to Kafe Kesuma.

“Poor experience”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2011

maybe I picked a bad evening but there is no way I would recommend this place to anyone - the fish soup was 95% vegetable and the nasi goreng seafood should have come with a microscope to find any seafood in it; the manager did not want to know. Avoid at all costs.
