I like the beach for family vacation both children and adult. The beach is white sand beaches with a lot of water sport and activities for fun
Decent shopping and cafe options in the main street. No real hassles from the locals pushing transport. The walk along the beachfront also relatively hassle free. The beach itself is fairly boring looking - yellow sand with bulk beach lounge chairs outside the high rise hotels.
Plenty of services (restaurants, shops and manicures etc) on the beach yet not too busy. Also fairly shallow so safe for the kids.
Not much tourist around this area! If you're looking for a low key vacation with walking distance of shops, restaurants and a calm beach this is your place!
Walk or bike the main road and you will see Balinise house, temples with people in it practicing their instruments a very local night market and cheaper prices then Seminiak, Kuta or any of those other turistics Bali place. 30 minutes from the airport.
Watersports are easy to find here.
Most boats can go out for snorkleing or diving, some surfing but not for the novices as its far out.
Nice resturants to take a fruit shake or lunch.
Worth - 2-3 hours of you holiday to get some sun..
Local people are nice and less here than other places in Bali trying to sell you everything.
Our two young children (4 & 7) loved our visits to the Sanur Beach. Our accommodation was not on the beach however we found many cafes/restaurants were we could pull up on the sun beds, have a drink & let the kids play in the sand & water. The water was a great temperature & safe for our two to swim in. Very relaxing!!
