Owner description: The Sanur Beach Promenade is lined with brightly painted outrigger boats along the water's edge, and good restaurants and cafes opposite. Treat yourself to a massage offered by one of the many masseuses with divans on the sand. If you're there in July, catch the Bali Kite Festival, a colorful international competition.

“Just come by for a quick look at the Volcano on a clear morning”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

If you are at one of the oceanshore resort hotels in Sanur such as the Bali Hyatt then you will find that Sanur Beach is get in good condition. However if you venture to the public area of the beach up the northern end, then the picture is very different. As many others have noted, there is rubbish strewn across the sand. The water doesn't look particulary enticing to have a splash in. However on clear days, especially in the morning try to pop a long for a glimpse of the huge volcano to the north which you can see from the beach. Impressive sight.

“The beach is a disgrace”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

I am sorry to say that we visited Sanur beach and were so disappointed. The water itself was ok but the amount of rubbish on the sand was disgusting. They need to clean up their act!

“I'd rather stay by the pool..”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

I've been here twice now, and I can't say I'm very fond of the beach here. If you stay in a hotel with a beachside location and have sunbeds, bars and a swimmingpool close by, sure, it's nice enough. But the beach itself is dirty (and when they clean, they only bury the garbage into the sand), the water is often dirty with a lot of garbage, the surrounding areas aren't very inviting, and the low tide makes it impossible to swim after 3pm.

“Sanur Beach Markets”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Although I did not go swimming here (reserved that for the hotel pool) we had a lot of fun walking along the paved footpath which runs the full length of the beach and browsing in he many stalls in the local markets. To fully appreciate this area one must enjoy bartering and learn to say, "Tidak!" when not buying.
