A restaurant of this standard should not be languishing at #31 in the Sanur listing. Many of the higher ranked restaurants are warungs, coffee shops and other cheaper locations. This restaurant is in a different category. It serves high quality, fresh food in a high class restaurant. The calamari, pizza and pasta were all good. The service was excellent and friendly. The price reasonable. Try it.

“Tired of nasi campur? Try this place for a pleasant change...”

Well, truth is, I can eat Balinese and Indonesian cuisine all day every day, but the rest of my family can only put up with it for a couple of days at a time. So after a few days staying in Sanur my wife and I decided to have dinner at The Village. We really appreciated the fully air-conditioned non-smoking room at the rear of the restaurant. Lovely decor throughout - the overhead light fittings are beautiful, comfortable chairs, quality tableware and the climate controlled wine room looks marvellous from inside. Friendly and attentive wait staff - a few spoke excellent English and at least one can converse in Italian. We didn't have any wine (you need deep pockets to enjoy good wine in Indonesia) but the mocktails are delicious. For the meal, we had fried calamari, portobello mushroom for entree; spaghetti carbonara and veal chop for main course. All dishes were very good. Note, I don't consider this establishment as fine dining in spite of the extensive wine list, so don't expect a mind-blowing culinary experience, but all meals were prepared well with fresh ingredients and tasted good. Speaking of ingredients, most of the produce is imported (e.g. buffalo mozzerella from Italy, lamb and beef from Australia) yet still very fresh - management's efforts to source a wide variety of produce from all over the world and keep prices reasonable is to be commended. And yes, though the prices are realitively high compared with other establishments on Tamblingan Road, it is very good value (wine excluded) if compared to an equivalent dining experience in Australia - Perth, especially.

Amazing pizza with fantastic and friendly service, thanks Darsana! Very accommodating with special requests. It's a bit pricey by Bali standards but worth it!
