“Bali & Fun & Value & Beaut People”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

A great recommendation from a friend.. and he was understating how good it is.
Mangrove / Sanur Beach Villas is now my best find in Bali.
The location, the pricing, the people & the facilities are easy to rate. They are all excellent.
It is the style of this wonderful place, however, that makes it so good.
Privacy or complete inclusion? Or a little of both? It is your choice and it's easy to make it happen.
The honour system involving the Bloody Huge Beer Box Thing With Heaps Of Ice is brilliant. It makes it simple to have a drink and relax, and it makes it simple to meet other, like-minded guests. It IS fun!
The real strength of the place tho', is those who make it all happen.
Ron & Irma & Rosie & Everyone On The Staff are there for their guests. I reckon that they really enjoy having people at their place.
A magical find and I'll be back every six months.
P.S. B/Ron has a small knowledge of Australian Rules Football.. ask him to share it with you.

Room Tip: You can purchase Vodka / Bourbon etc, at Donald's Mini Mart for approx. $35AU. Or you can pay $7...

Sanur Beach Villas are like a home away from home. The gardens are amazing and as soon as you walk in the gate it is paradise. The rooms are older style but comfortable and have great air conditioning. We also had a pedestal fan which was good for the nights when you don't need a/c.

Breakfast is included in the nightly rate. Love the mixed omelette with bacon and tomato.
You can eat breaky on your veranda or under the gazebo and chat with other guests. We have met some fantastic people while staying Sanur Beach Villas, including hosts Ron & Irma.

The beach is within easy walking distance and there are some great restaurants close by.

Thanks to Ron and Irma for another great stay at Sanur Beach Villas.

Stayed at SBV for 3 weeks in September and loved it. Ron and Irma are great hosts. Darwin, Daniel and the rest of the staff cannot do enough for you. Rosie is an absolute gem! Breakfast is included in the price- ooohhh the iced coffees! Location is at the southern end of Sanur, at the end of the beach path. Close to some great restaurants such as Mama Putu’s, Gardenia Café and Kesuma’s. If you get the chance, book into the Bamboo Shoots cooking school with Irma and Dewi – the coconut pancakes are divine! Adi the driver is extremely knowledgeable and great to take trips with!
Thanks Ron and Irma. We’ll be back!

Surprisingly for 350,000 rupiah a night including breakfast this is a little oasis, with attentive staff. Ron is a character and very sociable to his guests, especially if you are social with him and helpful about local hangouts and shops. They do have icecube trays in the room freezer, stubby coolers and good quallity bottle openers.

Irma, Rosie and the other girls and boys are good value, as is Adi the driver who Ron organised to pick us up from the airport and who also used for a few trips out for sightseeing and shopping.

Small establishment with 6 single rooms and 2 twin villas, which all had a verandah facing the pool, which was nice, clean and just right temperature for sipping those bintangs in from the Big Red Esky. The BRE is a great honour system, trade in your bottle tops and pay the 15,000 rupiah as you go.

Irma and Dewi ran a great session at the Bamboo Shoots cooking school which is onsite, recommend it to anyone.

The only downside would be the noise of the occassional motorbikes on the road outside leading to the popular beach.

Room Tip: Choose rooms 2-6 or the villas, not room 1 which is closer to roadside.

We were 4 adults staying in a 2 bdrm villa for 700,000 rph per night ($70aus) so i didnt know what to expect but i was quiet surprised.

Small complex which we all loved as it ment not having to share the pool with to many ppl. Pool temp was always perfect, Ron and Irma are the best hosts so friendly and nothing was a problem. Breakfast was included and excellant, and finally a hotel who serves vegemite (felt like being at home) TY

Conditiion and cleanleness of the rooms was A1 and a good size and loved all the books in the bookcase so was always something to read while lazying around the pool.

Ok if your after a 5 star resort its not for you but for couples looking for somewhere quite and reasonable priced i cant recommend it highly enough and the beers dont come much cheaper and colder in Bali!!!

I also recommend you try some of the resturants down on the beach from here , very cheap good food and excellant service.

Our stay at sanur beach villas, was once again very memorable, met lots of lovely people. Had many laughs, bicycle hire, which we utilised a fair bit. Ran out of time to do the new cooking school unfortunately. mama Tutu's restaurant up the road 30 or so Metres very handy. Or for a bit of a spurge. Charming restaurant was an experience.... Good to see the red esky still working keeping those beers cold. We love it here because it's so laid back and friendly, Rosie, Darwin and Daniel cannot do enough for you.. We looked forward to our breaky on the patio each morning... Falling asleep on the sun lounges, or the LILO in the pool either way, it's peaceful, fun, and a lunchtime Fish BBQ Ron the owner organised brings those that feel like a chat together. Say no more... Well see you again Ron,,

We were here for the day and it was exactly what we needed before we went home. We felt the rooms were good value ,basic accommodation and i loved the open bathroom , haven't had that since my first visit to Bali so i may be a little nostalgic. Air con worked well, there was a safe in our room , stocked up fridge , so what more could you ask for. I liked that each villa had its own 2x sun lounges and the best part was the pool which was very inviting and we pretty much stayed in it all afternoon. Everyone was helpful and cant wait to be back there again in October ;-)
