we liked the location, both pools and a good breakfast. As it was our last accommodation on a very active 3 week trip through Java & Bali (we started in Jakarta) we used it to get some rest before returning to Holland and did't try to undertake any activities.

This was our second visit to the Mecure. We love Sanur and it's laid back feel.
The hotel has an excellent location on a wide sandy beach, one of the best in Sanur.
There is a large choice of restaurants from simple warungs to a wide variety or restaurants that cater for all tastes eg pizza, seafood and European.
We organised to be picked up from the airport the cost being 250000rp. They were waiting for us and it was very efficient. We arrived at 11.30 pm and checking was very quick and the staff friendly and efficient. We booked the larger 42sq mt room with king bed. It was the same room we had two years ago. Room 206.
We felt the rooms are really tired and are in desperate need of an update.
The bathroom was large, but again in need of renovation. Although cleaned daily they are mouldy and the towels are thin and need replacing.
We also had some sort of animal running around in the roof at night.
Breakfast was adequate, after 10 days it became repetitious.
Dinner at the restaurant was very good, either a buffet, or Al a carte. We are Accor members so food eaten in the restaurant was 2 for 1 which made it very reasonably priced. We did think it strange that the buffet was not included as when we travelled to Thailand and Fiji the buffet was included.
Again I use the word tired to describe the resort, as the roof of the restaurant had tarpaulins covering it which looked like they had been there for quite a long time.
The underwater lights in the pool near the restaurant were floating around freely which was quite dangerous. The pool towels were thin and faded, and need replacing.
Overall it is a well priced hotel with a great position,well maintained large gardens. Lovely staff that are so friendly and willing to help.
I do think it is time for some renovations and updates to improve the property,

Pros:
Location is great right on the beach, lovely afternoon breeze, very nice staff, cheap massages on the beach (by mercure uniformed staff), a yoga studio, surf/stand up paddle hire and lessons and 2 pools. The restaurant does a decent breakfast and coffee lovers will love the coffee machine provided. Lunch/al a carte menu is also very good and reasonable price, only a few dollars more than cheap places around resort but with added extras like bread and well presented plates.

Cons:
Had to ask for sheets to be changed when checked in due to stains, all the linen (sheers/towels/pool towels) was dated, worn and many had marks. really could do with a lick of paint and new linen and it would make a world of difference. Shower room available if you have a late airport transfer but it is grotty so a bad last impression. Not enough sun loungers near small pool, although this is also due to rude people who leave their towels there all day but only use for a an hour or so. Had to leave air con on 24/7 to make an impact in room which I didn't like having to waste that much power but would sweat at night otherwise.

We arrived at the hotel at about 11pm.We were shown to our room,which was located near to the lobby.Whilst the room was basic,it was clean and had most things you would need for a beach hotel.To be honest when we settled in we had a few doubts about how good the hotel would be,but when we woke the next day and looked at the setting on the beach we were more than happy.The location is superb,a lovely beach with plenty of sun beds,no need to fight for a lounger at any time of day.The restaurant setting is rather nice,and we always found something to enjoy.
