“Very Relaxing Resort”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

If you want to go to Bali for a relaxing holiday Mercure Resort Sanur is the place to stay. The shady palms right on the beach with plenty of lounges and space for everyone were our favourite thing about the resort. Other resorts along the boardwalk seemed to have limited lounges and not much shade but Mercure has plenty of shade to relax under and the area is so quiet. The pool area is also nice and is close to the large shaded area. The gardens are also lovely and neat and well kept. The rooms are spread out over the grounds in blocks which means you are not waking up in the morning looking straight across at someone else on their balcony.

There are plenty of restaurants and cheap massage places within easy walking distance of the Resort or you can catch the free shuttle bus up to the other end of Sanur if you prefer a change. There is also easy access from the hotel to drivers and taxis if you want to go exploring further.

We stayed 4 nights and asked for a renovated room which we were told we had but were told it had been renovated 3 or 4 years ago. The fittings in the bathroom were fairly new as had a great rain shower, however the decor/furnishings could definitely do with an update as were orange and brown which is fairly typical for Bali I guess but could be better. The size of the room and the bathroom was great though with plenty of space. The layout was a bit unusual with the wardrobe area, safe and fridge in the bathroom! Our room was close to the restaurant and pool area but still quiet enough so location was good. Breakfast is good with a good variety of hot and cold foods however they need to find covers for the bread as we saw a few flies on it some mornings. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However the welcome/check in process was a bit slow and could be improved as we were given a voucher for a welcome drink which when we went to get it was pre poured and just tasted like cordial.

We would definitely return to Mercure Resort Sanur and recommend it as good value if you want to just have a relaxing holiday by the pool with a book to read and a nice quiet location.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room and not too far from the restaurant end of the Resort which is closer to th...

This hotel is excellent for anyone who wishes to spend time relaxing at a seaside location. The hotel has a nice outlook onto the sea and is quiet. There is a restaurant overlooking the beach which has good quality lunch and dinner. The buffet breakfast however was only average. The 2 pools were very nice however could do with a few more shade and lounge options. The Spa is exceptional with really friendly and efficient staff. I had a number of treatments and was extremely happy with the service. The discount for Accor members was also appreciated. A 75000( approx $8.00 AUD) rupee trip to the Matahari Galleria Mall was worth while with a number of quality shops alongside the Matahari department store. There was also a hypermart, cinema and duty free if required. The deluxe room I was given was not exceptional however fairly good value for the price paid. The staff however were exceptional - so friendly and helpful. Only thing I could fault was the pool towel system which needed a card for each guest to gain a towel. You had to remember to take this card to the pool and only one towel was allowed. As towels were very small and did not cover the lounge you risked being burned on the vinyl lounge when the sun was high on the area the towel did not cover.

The Mercur Sanur is situated right on Sanur Beach, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the area is quiet and relaxing. The resort pool was lovely with plenty of lounges, there are also plenty of lounges under the palms on the beach, a great place to relax. The buffet breakfast provides an excellent selection of foods, everything you can imagine for breakfast and more. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus hourly to Hardys department store which sells everything and now has fairly decent toilets. There are many restaurants along the road outside of the hotel as well as along the beach, most serve breakfast if you dont want to pay the $10 per person for the buffet.

The hotel consists of cottages, each with 6 rooms (three floors, two rooms per floor). Our room was on the ground floor, we had a nice private garden area, close to the pool, beach, and restaurant, the room was clean and spacious, the staff were extremely helpful.

The serenity and beauty of this resort overwhelmed us. It is certainly one of the best kept secrets of Bali. In the past we have stayed at Nusa Dua, Kuta, Tuban and Legian.Sanur, and Mercure Resort surpasses all those places.
The resort is not new, but with that come benefits. The rooms are renovated, attractive and functional. There are tropical gardens, 2 great pools and a beautiful private beach with many sun loungers. The main restaurant and also a bar overlooks beach and pool.. There are many restaurants close by on beach ond on the street, and there is even a free hotel hourly shuttle service to Hardys Department Store.
We will be returning to Mercure resort, Sanur.

Room Tip: We preferred a ground floor room because the patio extended to a screened tropical garden whereas th...

Stayed there couple of time already with my husband. Love love love the calmness of this place. Right on the beach. Lovely staff. Lovely garden, each room has access to the garden. Very calm and lovely. We absolutely love it there. It so much different than chaotic Seminyak or Kuta. Definetely will go back there eveytime we are going to Bali. Super recommended for a couple or honeymooners who are looking for a relaxing holiday.

Traveling with 4 young kids, we chose to have 3 bedrooms close to each other. 1 king size and 2 twin bedrooms were available for our stay. This hotel has a beach front and nice facilities to relax with family. Their breakfast was good. However dinner was rather disappointing. You can always try other restaurants close to this hotel.
