Bungalow hotel, a bit worn down, with the better (and more expensive) bungalows near the beach. The pool area is not impressive, but better than nothing. The cleaning of our room could be better (they could wash the floors with CLEAN water). Otherwise OK room, even though the AC was not the most effective I've seen. And the water pressure in the shower was minimal. Nice airy beach bar / restaurant, where also the breakfast is served. Friendly staff, but not all of them understand much English. Peaceful and relaxed atmosphere overall. Unfortunately there were far more insects here than at the hotel we stayed at before (mosquitos, flies and ants). Mosquito repellant is a must! (but not guaranteed to work).

Room Tip: Ask for a room / bungalow near the beach.

I've stayed here twice now and believe it to be excellent value. It's not the Ritz, but the staff, the food and the accommodation are well abover average. But in the middle of my two weeks here, I spent four nights on the nearby island of Lembongan at Coconut Beach Resort. My own little bungalow with two resident geckos in the thatched roof, and right beside the hotel pool and restaurant and with the most fabulous views across to Mt Agung, highest mountain, and active volcano, on mainland Bali, this was really paradise. No cars, just a few pick ups for local deliveries, means you can safely chug your way round this island, on a moped, in safety. Like most things on the island, hire charges are inexpensive, and what adventures you can have. There's a mangrove forest you can explore by boat, beautiful unspoilt beaches with just you on them, a beer (Bintang) round every corner to keep you refreshed, and the most lovely people you could hope to meet. All too soon it was time to take the Flyer back to Sanur, but, next year, I will be back to both the excellent Peneeda View and the wonderful Lembongan.

Room Tip: Seaside bungalows at the Peneeda view are ideally located for facilities, and low number bungalows at Coconut Beach save you to much climbing, unless you enjoy exercise!!!

the whole place looked like the staff and owner had given up some years ago...what was once a nice leafy garden is now a run down shabby hotel.....
you are awakened to screaming kids by the pool left to run unchecked by their bogan aussie parents who think its fun for all the guests to have their child screaming all day ...

the staff spend endless hours asking what room you are in as it seems most gueust just up and leave without paying due to the screaming ....
reception is barely manner no sign of a pool boy or towels and a rather rude sign in the lobby states that unless cups are brought back and washed by the guests they will be removing the free instant coffee and hot water ....
the pools are tiny and falling apart and the murkey green water emits a clorine cloudy which stings the eyes even before getting in ... the boniuse is that any germs will be cured although i still cant see out of one eye after 2 days in the gassey liquid....

having said that if you like screaming children and no staff to serve you the breakfest is nice as is the bfest area with a cheerful fat dog to come and stare as you eat the tiny saussage ... although they seem to run out of crossiants every day and its pretty much serve yourself as the staff dont seem to care

there are many dozens of much better places .... so why stay here ..unless you want a cure for diseases in the clourine or have a liking for screaming and feeding fat dog i really wouldnt bother ..much like the staff of this once i am sure proud hotel...

ps the warung on the beach next door is great and the service there much improved ..jonny who carves and sells wooden monkeys and lizards is also woth a vist ...we bought 3 at about $40 each and well worth it

Room Tip: try the villas if you have to as there may not be a family of screaming kids next door ...... if you are lucky6

Four visits to Peneeda View Beach Hotel and can't wait to go again. This has to be the best or one of the best hotels in Sanur. The room we always have is the seaview cottage, a lovely view of the ocean and close to the restuarant and garden pool. The staff are fantastic, rooms very clean, cleaning staff very obliging. can't recommend it enough.

Room Tip: The villas have the doorway facing the footpath, anyone walking past during the day look straight at the bed. Have to keep door closed if having a rest.

Our scheduled stay in Amed was cut short due to terrible weather conditions, so we drove down to Sanur with no accommodation booked. After looking at a couple of places, we came to Peneeda View and found the location, price and room suitable for a four day stay. The location, right on an uncluttered piece of beach, is outstanding and it was a pleasure to sit in the beachside restaurant for breakfast each day and enjoy the view up to Agung and across to Lombok. Breakfast (included) was delicious with a lot of variety and just enough of everything. We had one of the thatched bungalows, which was clean and spacious although other comments on TA about dim lighting still stand. We enjoyed a daily swim in one of the three pools, although the pool area is beginning to look a little tired. For the price, we weren't complaining. All staff (especially the restaurant) were friendly, and it was no trouble for reception to organise the hire of a DVD player for us. We found everything we needed was within an easy walk, but there was also plenty of transport readily available ranging from bemo to private hire. This looks to be a very family friendly hotel, and we would definitely consider returning with the grand kids if we could secure the same reasonable deal.
