“You get what you pay for”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Very average hotel, with the barest essentials. No restaurant, but they will order food in for you, it takes about 1 1/2 hours, but there's no restaurants nearby, except Maccas, which is about a 20 minute walk. The pool was extremely small with no shade and not particularly clean. The rooms had aircon, but it barely kept the room just under 'warm'. The location was rubbish and I can't tell you the amount of times we had taxi drivers who had no clue how to get to our hotel. Basically, if we didn't know the way, we weren't getting home! The first journey back to the hotel took us over 2 hours! The driver had to keep stopping and asking for directions, so make sure you download a google map or something to show the driver where the street is - that's what we did. There's WiFi, but it's torturously slow and doesn't really work in the rooms, unless you're close to the hub. The beds were hard, the showers unclean and the cleaning services and breakfast were not included. They also have a 'Beatles Bar', creepiest place on earth... enjoy. Plus side, it was cheap, you had a kitchenette to prepare breakfast and snacks etc. You get what you pay for.. have no illusions.

Room Tip: Ask for a room next to the WiFi hub.

Thanks for your review.

I and other guests walk to Sanur and it takes 10 minutes to walk to McDonald. Maybe you are a Slow Walker? There are many Restaurants within 2 minutes walk from McDonalds, Arena, Six Point, Serenity, Kayu Manis, Bahagia, Pergola just to name a few.
The pool is 12 metres Long and 5 metres wide and the second pool is 4 metres x 4 metres plunge spa pool. Whatever Hotel you stay at, you should take a name card from reception in case you get lost. Or get a new Taxi Driver. There are also maps at our reception. WiFI is new to Bali and improving all the time.
You obviously didn’t turn the remote setting down on your A/C as A/C’s are checked weekly for Freon as we know our guests like the cool room after been out all day.

Best Regards,
Wombat

Pool area uninviting; no holiday atmosphere. Bed uncomfortably hard; staff unhelpful. Water was often black and spraying all around until we took the heads off and removed the grit. Overpowering smell of mothballs, used to camouflage a sewerage problem. Servicing of room, milk, drinking water all "extra" - a local store saved the day. Although elderly, no help was given to carry our bags upstairs on arrival, or downstairs when we left. "Cavern" and Beatles memorabilia room very disappointing; overpowered by cigarette smoke. Early morning wake-ups due to staff members shouting to each other...

Room Tip: Ask for a good room and check it out before you move in; we were put upstairs which was difficult fo...

Although our room was nice, we endured multiple water problems. The lady on reception was not listening to our concerns.
From the beginning of our stay we had very little water from the kitchen tap.
We also had a faulty shower head making it very difficult to have a proper shower. On the third day the shower head came off! We were given a key to another room so that we could have a shower.
After the shower head was fixed, I had a shower with black water! The next day the basin in the bathroom leaked from underneath, flooding the floor.
The following night the basin was fixed but then we had no water in the shower or the kitchen!
We were not able to have a shower that night or the following morning.
Instead of adressing our urgent needs, the receptionist preferred to argue and suggested that we dont know how to turn on the tap!
We paid for 7 nights but they could only accommodate us for 6 nights. There was no offer to supply water for the kettle so we had to ask on several occasions. We received some water which upon checkout, the receptionist wanted us to pay for.
They also had the cheek to ask us to pay for wi fi! This was the most unpleasant stay we have ever had, not having basic running water.

I was a bit reluctant to publish a review of this great place because I don't want people knowing about it because I may find it difficult to get a booking next time. I have done so because they deserve their great review.
The property will not appeal to all simply because it is small and intimate and is a bit off the beaten track. Having said that, the staff here are fantastic, the rooms are spotless and linen and towels are fresh and clean. These are self contained apartments, only 12 in the complex, there are 3 two bedroom, 7 one bedroom and two super sized one bedroom. The complex is two storey, no lift.
Swimming pool is small but adequate for this hotel, with a separate plunge pool. Grounds and pool and well maintained.
There is a little pub ( replica of the Beatles Cavern Bar) where they without doubt sell the coldest beer in Bali. Room service is available but this is brought in from outside from very reputable restaurants. Breakfast in the morning can be pre arranged and is cooked on site but be prepared to wait because if all guests want breakfast they only have limited staff and you may need to alter your preferred time. - Just relax you are in Bali and Bali time is OK.
Tours and day trips are easily organised by the manager and his staff - nothing is too much trouble. They all speak English quite well (and probably a few other languages as well)
The property is not 5 star but the service is.
Have already booked another 9 day stay for just after Christmas so that in itself tells you something. This place is excellent value for money.
We were two couples who shared a two bedroom apartment ( had a bathroom each) and all four of us are still wondering why we have not found this place before having been to Bali around about 20 times each. - Summary in one word - Brilliant

We booked this hotel based on a fax we received from PVB group. For only $198 for one week, the hotel was very nice. The room was spacious with a full mini bar, the bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel was quite clean.
The pool does get quite warm so on a really got day in Bali, unfortunately it is not as refreshing as other pools.
The staff were friendly, happy to call us a taxi whenever we needed.
I was a little bit cautious when they asked for an imprint of my credit card at check in but they return it to you upon check out.
The only negative I can say is that the doors to the room and to the bathroom are glass so it does not give you much privacy.

Would happily return to Sekuta :)

We used a voucher deal and were very pleasantly surprised at the standard and service we received . The local manager Wombat , proved to be an absolute winner and could not do enough to assist us . The little seating area by the pool was a great location for breakfast and the wonderfully cool Beatles Bar perfect for a refreshing local beverage .

I stayed here for a week at the beginning of November and found it to be fantastic value. While it is a good 10 minute walk to the beach, I enjoyed the walk. I got a voucher deal and paid $200 for the week. The room was very clean as was the pool area. There is a convenience store about 25 meteres up the road where we bought out water and snacks. The staff were friendly. The only thing I didn't like was the beatles bar, I wouldn't sit in there for a drink or anything else it creeped me out -sorry :-( I did however, buy another voucher and will return again soon.

Room Tip: a ground floor room near the pool would be nice as the pool is usually pretty quite.
