We spent 4 nights at the Palm Garden and enjoyed the area. The rooms are large but the furniture and other amenities are starting to really show their age.
The bathrooms are sadly a significant waste of space with both a shower and a separate bathtub that is really useless. The grounds and pool are the nicest part of this property as well as it's close proximity to the beach.
The rooms were cleaned daily and we were happy enough with the cleanliness. We also paid to use bikes for a day and they definitely need to get some one new ones as we found newer ones for less later on.

Don't expect luxury for this price, but do expect charm, serenity, good service and beautiful surroundings; plus the location is great. Bedrooms are large with fans and air-con. Décor is a little dated, but the rooms have had a bit of a 'spruce-up' and are well maintained. The breakfast buffet is simple but adequate and there are heaps of lovely restaurants nearby. The pool is delightful, although larger umbrellas would be a good idea. Entertainment (real edge of your seat stuff!) is watching the gardener climbing the very tall palm trees with the aid of nothing but a rope around his ankles, then standing barefoot on the razor sharp edges and pruning them with a very sharp machete! OH and S is a term not well known in Bali!!

Room Tip: Upper level captures the breeze.

Palm garden is one of my favorite accommodations. It is a small complex, the rooms have a large veranda, the garden is beautiful and well maintained and the pool not too small. The staff, employed for many years, is extremely friendly and helpful. Do not expect great luxury or modern gadgets however. Palm Garden is an old-fashioned hotel, which did not see much investment. Some people will find that the hotel is not adapted to the demands of modern times

The breakfast is not very extensive

I was very surprised at the Trip Advisor Accreditation proudly on displayed at the reception of this resort because in my view the hotel has many issues. Firstly, I was told a considerably lower price on the phone, only to pay almost double on arrival. The rooms are dated and smell stale and old, the air conditioning unit was something from the 70's or 80's, I've never seen such an old unit. All the cupboards had that old musty smell when you open them and the bed linen was also drab with a blanket which I personally hate from a hygiene perspective. The TV was old (not a flat screen), there was a flask in the room which still had liquid from the previous guest in it, the bathroom suite is a salmon pink / beige sink and toilet bowl which is one of those awful trends from way back in the day, further highlighting how overdue a refurb is needed. At breakfast the milk jug was full of severely off milk which I had to point out after almost gagging on my tea. When I looked in the pool it was cloudy and I wasn't brave enough to jump in. I've stayed in many places throughout SE Asia and this did not meet my expectations at all. I also thought the staff made little to no effort and showed no charisma whatsoever.

I have for many years been an annual visitor to Bali and Palm Garden has been my home away from home when I am in Sanur.I find the accommodation very satisfactory for the price .... the rooms are large, the beds comfortable and the bathroom facilities adequate and reliable. The rooms are cleaned and the linen changed daily. AC., fridge and TV.are not modern but serviceable, and in other hotels not always included in this price range.
The hotel is set in beautifully maintained gardens. Because it is small, it is quiet and peaceful and the outdoor breakfast area is an ideal place to have a chat and swap stories and shopping tips with other guests.A highlight for me is the friendly helpful management and staff. I always feel safe, secure and well looked after at this hotel.

I have been staying at Palm Garden for about eight years and have just returned from another great three weeks stay.
The poor reviews I have seen have no relation to the hotel I know.
The staff are friendly and can't do enough for you. The manager is friendly and goes out of her way to assist.
The rooms are a little dated but are clean and spacious and the beds are comfortable. The hot water is really hot so you can always enjoy a hot shower.
Breakfast is adequate but has improved recently and if you want extra you can pay for it.
The hotel is close to the beach and the shops but in a quiet street.
If you prefer a quiet and peaceful holiday away from the rush of Kuta then Palm Garden is just the place. Rest in the beautiful garden and swim in the pool

Another successful stay at the lovely Palm Garden Hotel. The gardens are looking wonderful and the hotel is just as welcoming, accommodating and friendly - just the place to relax and unwind around the hotel pool and on your own private verandah. Absolutely good value for money and very conveniently situated to good shopping just up the street and the beach just down the street, and a great place to return to after spending time at the great restaurants very nearby.
The hotel restaurant has a more comprehensive menu now, with local Indonesian dishes which looked very appetizing.
This hotel is very small with only about 16 rooms but that is what is appealing. The staff all know who you are and are very friendly, you don't feel that you have to fight for a space at the pool - it feels like you could be in your own home, sitting out in your own lovely garden, enjoying the peace and ambiance that is Bali.

Room Tip: The rooms on C Block are great, looking out over the garden and pool. C3 and C4 have twin beds and a...
