Zen Villa's is amazing! I will not bother to stay anywhere else. I was initially hesitant at the location and unsure what to expect. The perfect combination of peaceful relaxation, whilst still being close to shops & restaurants.
The staff were friendly and thoughtful. The villas CLEAN & luxurious.
Can't wait to take our kids next time.

Room Tip: Villa G was great, but did have chickens & rooster next door in the neighboring property.

Looking for a place to clear your mind and to charge your battery, Zen Villa is the place to be.
We have stayed at the Zen Villa mid June 2012 in the Peace Villa.
We didn’t know what to expect from the Zen, but the experiences was great.
I would like to start with the first day, we were welcomed by the front desk team with a smile and a refreshment. The Peace Villa was above our expectation, all that is necessary for a good and pleasant stay was available, for example. The kitchen was well equip, the living-,bed- and bath room was nice and clean (especially clean). The thing that really surprise me during our stay was the breakfast. Each and every morning your breakfast is prepared by one of the Zen team member and you can enjoy your breakfast on the veranda. Each and every Villa has there own swimming pool and every morning one of the team members will drop by to check the quality of the water and the cleanness of the pool. The Zen Villa is not far away from the town centre and the beach, a 10 to 15 minutes walk. In the town centre and on the beach you can enjoy a perfect meal, because there is so many restaurant to choose from. Also you can shop until you drop. Our stay in the Zen Villa and the city of Sanur was remarkable. The Zen Villa team did there very best to make our stay very pleasant.

Room Tip: We had a tour at the Zen Villa and all the villa are good to stay, depending on the number of people...

We stayed at the Zen Villas in early July with our parents and 2 young children - 2.5 years and 10 weeks. The villa was perfect for our family and was good value for money. We stayed in the Peace Villa - it had 3 bedrooms and a small plunge pool, which was all we needed with young kids - older kids would need a bigger pool. The 3rd bedroom contained a single bed which was perfect for our 2.5 year old. The kitchen was very well equipped and they had thought about the little things like adapters etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff would come on demand (when the baby was awake) and we had a lovely breakfast every morning cooked in our villa. The villa had nice furnishings and we loved the vegetation surrounding the villa - much nicer than a brick wall.
The Villas are located on a back lane and it took around 10 minutes walking with the kids to get to the beach - but we were happy to be off the main strip and the beach was very windy, so we were thankful we were not staying on the beach. We hired a bike with a babyseat which made it a great spot to go riding from and easy to pick up takeaway at night. Reception also provided DVD's if required.
Overall, I would highly recommend Zen Villas and we are looking forward to going back one day.

We have just spent a lovely week at the Zen Villas, staying in the Harmony Villa. The pool, villa and staff were great. The Villas are a good ten minutes walk from the main road in Sanur, the road is shocking, only permitting one car in each direction at a time. You have to duck into a drive way to let cars pass. The only thing that we didn't enjoy was the mosquitoes, the first night my son woke up with at least a dozen bites. The staff fogged once while we were there and we had plenty of coils and Rid, etc. the Harmony Villa needs mosquito nets as there is a gap of a couple of inches where the walls meet the ceiling, this allows access to mosquitoes. They either need to fix the gap or provide nets. It was the only negative aspect to an otherwise great holiday. It's not a new problem as you only have to look back to see a similar review. I stress again, the villa is lovely with a huge pool and the staff delightful, it was a pity we had to spray every night before we went to bed.

People who know Bali will know that down the little back lanes, you can find some real Gems; Zen Villas is one such; The complex is a lush tropical Oasis set behind the bustle of the main streets of Senur. Very well kept gardens and private Villas instantly gave me the feeling of being in a paradise of my own, making it easy to relax an unwind.
The Villas themselves are spacious, clean and finished to an elegant standard. They all have names like "Tranquility", "Peace", "Harmony" and "Serenity" - I stayed in Serenity Villa "F" with firends - it is a three-bedroom Villa; the two larger bedrooms being ensuite and the third bedroom having a door that led into the second ensuite. Both bathrooms had two showers - an internal and an outdoor shower (open to the elements, but very private) for that extra sense of the exotic. Really nice.
Housekeeping staff attend very unobtrusively, and are very friendly and obliging. TV picture was a bit fuzzy, but when we mentioned it to staff, they had the TV/Cable-guy out right away - the fact that it was a on a Sunday was no problem at all. Sorted. Couldn't ask for better than that.
The kitchen/cooktop/bench etc was immaculate, but with so many good little restaurants in the area (ask Reception for some great suggetsions), I doubt they get much use; they didn't when we were there - except the one day, we "ordered in" breakfasts (mostly we would go out for breakfast) - the Zen staff then come in and cook and serve it in the Villa, or beside your pool, as you please (each villa has its own pool) . Nice if you want to have a day in, or a nice way to start the day if you're going to have a day out.
"F"'s pool has a huge day-bed in the Bale' , plus two loungers by the pool, and the garden was simply a pleasure to relax in.

I was very impressed with the standards; very comfortable beds, linen that always looked fresh (thanks to houskeeping!), and immaculately cleaned rooms each day made for a welcoming place to return to each day.
Reception staff were great, and organised Taxis, and Drivers whenever needed.

My only whinge was more a complaint about Denpassar itself - the smell of burning rubbish in the air every few days - but that's something that everybody in the area has to put up with, and thankfully the sea-breezes each day fan those away. Once inside the Villas, the aircon was very efficient, and it always smelt fresh.

Room Tip: Speak to the Manager when they're available, and tell them your likes and dislikes, that way the...

Well maintained accomodation with efficient friendly service in trying conditions. On my arrival at Zen, following heavy rains for a couple of days, there was a stormwater flooding issue. Access to all the villas was ankle deep in water. One of the staff carried my bag on his shoulder whilst I waded along behind. Very pleased with the accomodation and facilities. Clean, fresh, well provisioned. Very surprised to find full selection of crockery, cutlery & stemware. Breakfast is brought to your room each morning at the requested time & the friendly staff cook the eggs to your preference. I would highly recommend a stay at Zen, even though it is at the more expensive range of available accomodation. Make sure you get your bearings, tricky getting back if on foot (I got lost twice, but had all day to do it).

Room Tip: I stayed in a tranquility villa, which has it's own outdoor spa (not heated)

We stayed here in May 2012 Our villa was spacious and of a high standard. The living area were spacious. The bathroom in our villa had some issues - you had to climb into the bath to turn the taps on as the shower blocked access to the taps - the bath was tiny. villa more suited to families.
Unfortunately there were renovations happening in one of the Villas so not very restful during day but Manager Fiona was apologetic and provided a free massage. I have read other reviews of this occurring so i would suggest checking if any renovations occurring as we only knew after checkingn.
The only other detractor is the level of privacy. The perimeter fencing of the villas is not solid walls, but vegetation. This is a nice green touch, but does not provide 100% privacy, as we have experienced in other villas in Bali. When you walk along the lanes to your villa you can see into other villas’ pool areas. If absolute privacy is a requirement, then this may be a detractor.
The reception staff are brilliant, Ari and the others are so wiling to help with anythg - butit is not 24 hour receptin although there is 24 hour secuirty, the locality if you are on foot is not easy to beach and altogh taxis were easy and cheap many had trouble locating the Villas. if you had pushbikes, scooter would have life much easier but wiite a way from earing and beach, and although several restaurants apparently deliver reception is shut at night and the book listing them is locked away. breakfast is okay if only staying for a few days and is cooked for you in your villa but gets no hum.

Room Tip: Not much privacy if that is what you are after and check building program
