very nice, value for money. room and bathroom were clean and very pleasant. got a room on the first floor facing the pool which was very pretty and homely. david and his wife are hospitable. its not beachfront but close enough to the beaches.

By far the best thing about Ellie's is it's lovely staff...followed closely by the yummy french toast. We stayed here for 6 nights total and found everything from the recommendations of the staff for activities, the view from our room to be above and beyond the usual B&B standards. The only downside is you have to take a taxi everywhere as it's slightly off the beaten path. Still, great place to stay! We look forward to going back again sometime soon.

Room Tip: We stayed in two rooms and both were GREAT.

Stayed here a total of 3 nights in August, 2012. David and his staff could not have been more helpful - there wasn't anything they couldn't provide assistance with. Nice accomodations, including a delicious breakfast. Room was spacious & clean. WiFi available around the lobby. Nice pool and lobby area.

I just had the best holiday ever at Ellie's. It is a small hotel which has retained its Balinese character and is run by a lovely British couple. Rooms are large and clean, it has a nice little pool and the breakfast is delicious, served in a beautiful open air setting. I am a single traveller but met many interesting people to chat to at breakfast.
Dave and Caroline will listen to the kind of things you want to do and give advice on how to go about it from arranging transport to suggesting shopping venues, beaches and restaurants. Dave is a paraglider so a tandem flight was an unexpected bonus to my holiday.
Ellie's is a gem of a hotel with the best service - so much nicer than being in a bigger hotel!

Just off the main drag on the way out of nusa dua, Ellie's has a rather forlorn driveway but don't be unsettled the place is great..!
Marble floors, big rooms with comfy beds and great showers makes Ellie's a top place to stay..
The breakfast is also really good...
Overall, terrific value for money and the expat English guy who is looking after the place had some great travel tips and very helpful guiding us on our onward travels...

Thanks trip advisor folk for rating this one highly and guiding us there...

Our first time in Bali and we were lucky to choose Ellies. You don't feel you're cocooned from everything as you could do in a resort.Yet Ellies provides a beautiful haven away from the busy markets and streets..you feel you have the best of both worlds. The staff are very friendly and happy to share information with you so you can plan your day easily. We miss Ellies and Bali..hope to return.

Room Tip: we were happy with hill facing room

We stayed here for 5 nights on our first trip to Bali and can't recommend it highly enough! We chose it based on the reviews we read on trip advisor and can honestly say that it lived up to our expectations. We found this to be quite a quirky little hotel with a great pool and wonderful, friendly staff.

The hotel is located is just off a busy road, but is tucked away so once you're there you don't realise just how close you are to it. We did attempt to walk to a local Warung one day, which would have taken about 10-15 mins but the road was pretty busy and it was so hot that we ended flagging down a taxi after about 5mins - the air conditioned car was a god send in that heat! After that we used taxis to get everywhere - they're cheap and plentiful and probably the easiest way to travel. The staff at the hotel were always more than happy to order taxis and help us to tell the drivers where we wanted to go.

Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable although we didn't have the best view! if you have the option we'd recommend asking for a room with a pool view, rather than a hill view. We were fine with the view we had though as the rate we paid for our room was so good.

The hotel serves breakfast in a dining area beside the pool. Breakfasts were simple but delicious and we recommend both the french toast and the pancakes. Unfortunately they don't have a restaurant for lunch/dinners but they are more than happy to order food in for you and plate it up - you can eat in the dining area or your room if you prefer. I unfortunately had a bad stomach after our first dinner in Bali (at a beach restaurant we found ourselves and now regret going to!) so my husband ordered food in for the few days I wasn't well and couldn't eat - he thoroughly enjoyed the food and it was a relief that he didn't have to go find somewhere to eat by himself while I stayed in bed ill. Once I was better we went out to eat at restaurants recommended by the manager David, both of which were great. We particularly enjoyed Kat's Kitchen, a local Thai restsurant which we went to on our last night, had we stayed longer we would definitely have returned there.

By far the main asset for this hotel though is the staff, we found them to be incredibly friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. They were always happy to help, whether it was booking taxis, ordering food or arranging day trips for you. One highlight of our trip was a tandem paraglide arranged by David, a fantastic way to see some the Balinese coastline. If you stay at this hotel then the paragliding is a must do activity!

If you're looking for a 5 star luxury hotel then this is not the place for you. However if you want a fantastic stay in a comfortable, friendly hotel at a reasonable price then don't think twice! If we return to Bali we will definitely stay here again.
