I was reading Tripadvisor for months before we selected the Hyatt. There was mixed reviews, some saying it was dated, too big etc. We found it not as dated as some resorts in Australia like Hyatt Sancturary Cove, Sheratone Port Douglas and Sheraton Gold Coast. The grounds are big, but it is a pleasure to walk around. Kids love the pool, the meals were all good, so 5 stars from me. You go from the traffic, noise and rubbish from outside the Nusa Dua entrance to perfectly manicured gardens and clear roads in seconds. Will be back.

Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua - fine if you plan to remain in Nusa Dua otherwise you spend a lot of time travelling to/fro other parts of the island. This Hotel is in dire need of a renovation-rooms are adequate, fairly well appointed, but tired-looking. That said, we had a Deluxe Room facing a lovely pond filled with lotus flowers and glimpses of the ocean. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing and we could easily walk to the beach. As many have mentioned, Opt for a Club Room - Club Privileges are well worth the extra and there's a private Club Pool - but the beach is much prettier. Watch the undertow when surf is in. The STAFF here are wonderful - very friendly and accommodating and we were greeted with infamous Balinese smiles daily.

Room Tip: Club Room; level 2 upward affords you a sea-view.

As someone who travels a great deal for work, I am very picky about my hotels. I can say without at doubt that the Grand Hyatt Bali was fabulous. We were there during the low season (April 2013) and had the run of the place. Everyone on the staff was super friendly and very accomodating. The hotel spa (Kriya) was amazing!

The hotel is right on the beach and there are several restaurants on property if you are not interested in doing anything more than enjoying the beach and pool etc.

My only dissapointment was the night market. It was not what I expected and it was very expensive for what it was.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to vacation in Bali.

Room Tip: It's a very large property so choosing a room in advance is not easy. We did not have a room facing the ocean, but if you can get one, I would highly recommend it.

THe property is excellently situated with a massive beach front. The timing of our trip was not good as it was raining every day. So I would say that it was rather depressing.
The only saving grace was the beach front italian restaurant - The Salsa Bar. Food and service was excellent. The Japanese restaurant was pretty good too (but expensive). The lobby bar, however, was average.

This place has an amazing view, great staff that takes excellent care of you. The only down side is if you want to go anywhere else on Bali besides Nusa Dua, it is very remote to get to other places on the island.
