“Great value for price, very nice resort”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012

Excellent 5 days vacation spent in this great resort. We chose one of the less expensive rooms and was just alright. A little wear off and requiring refurbishing / redecoration but we didn't spend much time on it so was fine. Wifi in rooms which was nice. Bathtube available but not separate shower. Room was ample and the bed comfortable enough. OK terrace which we didn't use much. Complimentary water every day. Please, note the room was one of the cheapest ones. The area of the rooms was in pair with this rate range in terms of decoration and location relative to seafront. Still the area is very nice with many impressive decoration details. There are other areas of the hotel where the perceived quality of common areas and rooms is much higher so seems like here you can find what you're looking for.

This was not an adult-only resort but we found that not being at all an issue in this resort in terms of tranquility.

Resort is huge with a huge lobby impressively decorated. Many restaurants and bars with gastronomy from all over the world. Good enough quality in all we tried. Breakfast buffet quite good and with plently of choices.

There are many pathways from Lobby to Rooms to Sea / Swimming pool, profuselly decorated, with lakes where you can find impressive lizzards and other animals. Very interesting.

Swimming pool is big and nice, with a bridge conveniently communicating both sides of the swimming pool. No problem whatsoever to find free sunbeds here of by the beach since hotel removed those towels from unoccupied seats. Beach area and beach itself is nice. They were works in progress during our stay to build up a new swimming pool closer to the beach but we didn't notice any noise. There is a bar serving the beach where you can order drinks and food (pizzas and so). Prices in restaurants and bars are quite affordable.

Service is always nice and usually helpfull.

Beach is quite nice and long (I believe more than 2 kms of sand). Nice excursion by walk in beach to a place nearby where you can get showers from sea water crashing against rocks.
You can also buy motor sports (jet ski and others). One thing I didn't like from beach was the female vendors which place themselves literally in front of your sunbed for hours waiting for you to buy them something obstructing the see view. Other thing was the people with huge kites. The wind was quite strong and I feel they can be dangerous if not properly controlled.

Shows are nice but you need to pay for them. Normally include dinner. We went to see a local dance and was very nice.

Is quite conveniently located from airport (20 mins) in a secured area (a barrier and a lot of security to access the resorts area).

There are several shops in general quite expensive.

In general, great value for the money I'd be happy to recommend. No luxury though, at least in the rooms we booked.

We spent 7 days in Ayodya Resort Bali and I think we made the best choise. Not only the architecture of the hotel is impressive, but the entire concept and the "story" that the hotel is telling you, about the balinese architecture, art and traditions! Ayodya paid very much attention to every small detail, providing a great experience during our stay. We found at the reception that the hotel was rewarded as the 2-nd hotel in Indonezia in 2012.

We were surprised even from the gateway with long alleys and a huge place with many fountains and balinese staues, and after that, by the big and elegant lobby.

The hotel is very big, beautiful decorated with statues and interior gardens. Rooms are big, balinese style decorated (we enjoied very much the furniture). We stayed in a grande room at the ground floor, having garden and pool view.

The hotel has a big lagoon and beatiful tropical gardens, with a lot squirrels, fish and birds - very relaxing!

There are 5 restaurants: Waterfall (at the lagoon), Octopus (sport stayle), japanese, balinese theatre and pool restaurant. Lot of choises, great food! We liked especially at Balinese Theatre which is a magic place for dinner, and the japanese restaurant, but all of them are great. We were surprised by the fact that just few people choose to have dinner in the hotel, and the restaurants have only few tables occupied. The restaurants' staff was very desirous to serve us.

The pools are great, especially the beach front pool. The beach and the ocean - amaizing.

The staff is very smiley, polite and kind.

Everithing was perfect! If you go to Bali, choose Ayodya!

Ayodya resort is BIG! It is so big that it takes a few minutes to get to the beach LOL. I love the concept of ayodya. It is not a new resort and it is in fact a 5 star hotel in bali and that is why i picked ayodya for my one night in Bali. I was happy with my stay just that the room is kind of old fashion. We didn't get the best view but what the heck, we were only there for a night. The room floor was sort of wet and i guessed it must be humid? I'm not too sure myself even after the aircon was running, the floor is still a little wet. It is strange but all is good.

We wanted to go out at night to the famous night market so one of the guy who works in ayodya told us to go to KUTA. I assumed thats the one with many stalls and bars. He quoted us the price to go there with hotel car and that is Rp.150,000. Of course it is pricey so we asked if we could have "blue bird" service taxi as they runs with meter. But he said 'no' so we didn't have much choice now do we? The driver drove us along and we were talking for a bit. He told me the night market is in Legian road. Well, first of, i don't live in Bali therefore i've no idea where the heck legian road was. He recommended it so i was happy to say "yes" bring me there please. after we arrived, he said Rp.180,000. I know it wasn't a lot but come on, one man said one thing and the other said another! I was a bit unhappy with this. He could have told me before proposing me to head to legian road. and of course my man wasn't happy about it. i gave him Rp.200,000 as i didn't have the exact amount. He asked if i have the exact amount as he didn't have the change! In the end, he charged me lesser than Rp.180,000. (I guess)

The next day as we were waiting for our time to go to the airport, i asked the lady who worked at ayodya that if we could have local taxi with meter to drive us instead. miraculously, she said YES! So i guess not every workers at ayodya are honest. Some trying to rip us, some are just honest. So for those who wants local taxi, YOU CAN!

Breakfast was... CROWDED! but the foods are ok, no complains. The huge pond has alligators(or maybe komodo)! that was the coolest part they have in ayodya :D

The beach is perfect :) but VERY STRONG WAVES! i was scared :P

a smiling welcome after a long flight from home, takes off half the fatigue, inspite of the large holiday rush, a quick checkin, a beautiful room with a wonderful view of the sea. Variety of food served in the restaurants. A large breakfast spread covering practically the whole globe.a exclusive beach area where one could just laze around.
variety entertainment shows Balinese cultural events in the evening were an added bonus.
the architecture of the hotel with its huge frontal lobby had great ventilation where one could feel quite comfortable in the humid climate.
shuttle bus service to the nearby shopping complex was an added advantage, all staff members right from the bell boy to the front office staff, the restaurant staff where always ready to serve with a smile,we really enjoyed the week we spent here and would not mind going there again.
for a holiday.

Room Tip: choose a room on the upper floors with a view to the pool and the sea

We stayed here for 12 nights on our honeymoon. When we arrived the staff knew that it was our honeymoon and offered their congratulations. When we arrived to our room we found a personalized card from the Hotel General Manager welcoming us and congratulating on our marriage along with a complementary bottle of wine and fruit basket; nice touch!

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. The property is beautiful (designed as a traditional Balinese water palace) and very large. The staff do an excellent job at maintaining the grounds; the landscaping is immaculate! Service was slow at all of the restaurants but it should be kept in mind that this was consistent with all of our dining experiences outside of the resort as well. I think the term I would use to describe the service speed is "island time", which was an adjustment for me as I come from a very busy city and myself am always "on-the-go". Anytime we encountered a staff member they immediately stopped what they were doing, moved out of our path and greeted us with a warm smile. Although we traveled during Bali's busy season (August) we never felt as though the resort was too crowded and a staff member was always a stone's throw away. The staff were helpful and when we requested a late check-out due to the timing of our flight's departure, the front desk agent was very helpful and eager to accommodate. We would return again.
