The hotel is in a touristic area Nusa dua which is all artificial and looks very different from Kuta or Denpasar. But it's really beautiful, calm and safe place to be. I would recommend it as a place to rest after some active time in other sites of Bali.
The hotel itself is a big, touristy place crowded with people. Though it has a magical feeling because the buildings are not so tall ( 3 story) and surrounded by beautiful green gardens and narrow walk ways. The staff in comparison with other hotels in Bali could be better. I believe it's because there are so many people they loose a personal touch to every client. It's more what you expect form a standard resort: restaurants and spa are way overpriced, but in general it's a nice place to rest and do nothing.
The "Bali collection" a big shopping mall nearby was a real salvation, cause we spent all our evenings there shopping, dining and getting some spa treatments.
The breakfast at hotel was really good. A real 5 star for that one. Every nation can find something theirs in that restaurant.

Room Tip: Lagoon access suites are really worth the price. They have unlimited internet connection, two spacio...

Dear Aiste P,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing Meliá Bali to accommodate your holiday and taking the time to write your review of our property in TripAdvisor.

We are happy to learn that you had a wonderful stay at our resort with the service and facilities provided.

Unlike Ubud and Kuta, that developed by itself following the economic growth. Nusa Dua area and the hotel buildings, the complex was designed by the Indonesian government to give a luxury atmosphere tourist destination in Bali yet still maintaining the Balinese architectures. Therefore the area is really integrated and blend with the green concept and environmentally friendly. The hotel building, according to the local Bali government regulation, it should be no more than 4 stories or lower than the height of the coconut tree. The main reason is to avoid Bali buildings become skyscrapers concrete jungle.

Once again thank you and we look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip.

The Melia is a really lovely hotel. We stayed in a family room and although not huge quite comfortable. It is a big hotel but it doesn't overwhelm you with crowds at all. The pool is great and the occasional pool activities kept the kids happy. You can enjoy lovely beach walks past all the other resorts! Nusa dua is quiet so be aware of this, we did 4 nights there & then followed up with 10 in Seminyak and enjoyed our time there but any longer with kids may have been different.

Room Tip: Ask for ground floor, the lifts are very slow

We took the shuttle bus as did so many other Tanjung Benoa-based tourists to the Bali Collection mall in Nusa Dua. This area has been purpose-built and when you drive through the manicured entrance you can tell it's private property as there are no mini-marts and massage shops along the road. We did some shopping at department store Sogo after having a beer each at Melia Bali.
Here, we had walked down wanting to enjoy a beer by the water, sheltered by an umbrella. About 10 or so hotel resorts face the beach directly (Club Med etc) so it was just a case of selecting the one that appealed most. Almost all were deserted at 3pm which was kind of creepy, especially the Pirates Cove one for kids, but this Melia Bali trumpeted that it had free WIfi. And here's a trap for young players - how do you think they subsidise the free Wifi? With incredibly expensive beer of course...
Andrew ordered a large Bali Hai while I had a regular Bintang. So we were gobsmacked to get a bill including taxes for $24!!! Was there a scenic view and umbrella tax too??? It's not even this expensive in some of the fancier bars in Sydney or Melbourne.
Avoid.

Warmest greetings from Meliá Bali!

Dear visitrequisites,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting and spent some time at one of our restaurants at the Meliá Bali and also taking the time to write your review of our property in TripAdvisor.

Unlike the all-inclusive hotels type where you stayed in Tanjung Benoa; most of our in-house guests enjoy the food and beverage at our hotel in different ways, for examples: the dine around voucher will give you a 25% discount, half/full board meal plan for couples or families holidays. In addition to that, each restaurant also have different promotional set menus offered to our guests, one of our outlet also provide a 3 courses set menu that started with IDR 165k net/person (approx. US$ 18). In our beach restaurant where you had the beers, IDR 164k net/person (approx. US$ 18) also with 3 courses set menu. On beverages consumption, our bars also promote the "2 for 1" - 2 same items for 1 price, different time for different bars.

In regards to the Wi-Fi access rate; most of the hotels in Bali charge an additional rate for this (considered new) service . Yet, we found that our Wi-Fi broadband speed is the highest among the hotels in Bali. Currently, we are in progress to provide a free Wi-Fi access only to our in-house guests.

Once again thank you very much for your feedback

We stayed at the Melia Bali - The Garden Villas last week, and enjoyed every second of it.

Our Garden Villa was pure luxury, the staff catered to every one of our needs and always with a smile and we found the property overall to be simply stunning in natural surroundings, and the beach to be gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant on the beach offered some great snacks we sampled. We had a massage booked and where so impressed with the environment of the spa as well as the professionalism of the massage therapists.

We cannot wait to go back, and we'd highly recommend this property to anyone!

Dear dsquare2012,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing our Garden Villas at Meliá Bali to accommodate your holiday and taking the time to write your review of our property in TripAdvisor.

We are happy to learn that you had a wonderful stay at our villa with its service and facilities provided. Just like our previous respond, we are proud to maintain this unique Balinese architectural concept to make the guests really feel that you are having your holiday in Bali. Unlike the new modern minimalism concept that you could find in any other part of the world.

Once again thank you and we look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip. Please send e-mail to executive.office@meliabali.com for further detail information about the hotel.
