In short, the hotel is fantastic. Service is great, food is excellent, staff is very friendly and there is a lot of attention to detail in every area. The rooms are a bit dated but everything is in working order and very clean. We stayed in a Laguna Access Room however I don't think it matters since all rooms are of very high standard. In short, it's perfect for some very lazy but luxurious days in a tropical resort.

As a satisfied customer I also have to say that I am glad I didn't just stay at The Laguna for my vacation on Bali because there is a downside in my view. This hotel could be standing anywhere in the (tropical/sub-tropical) world. If it weren't for the staff and the little temple on the grounds you would have no idea you are on Bali or even in Asia. If you want to explore the island and get to know its culture, look for a different place (ideally north of the airport and away from Kuta/Denpasar) since Nusa Dua an island on the island. It would be a shame to be just tugged away in this Disneyland kind of resort without having seen and experienced the real Bali.

Really nice and relaxing place, and pretty good value for money ... A bit of a drive away from everywhere, but otherwise fantastic and really quiet with no traffic noise. And the breakfast is amazing - cheaper if u commit to having the breakfast for a certain number of days at the sart (200 000 vs 250 000 Rp per person)

Hi there,

me and my gf stayed at the Laguna for approx. 10 days in mid-to end April 2014.
I'll keep this as short and concise as possible:

Breakfast:
This Balinese & Breakfast of the world fusion astounded me every morning. The range (Asian-pacific, Anglo-American, as well as European continental), the quality, and the staff that delivers, are all just par none! It is the kind of breakfast you cannot wait to get up for in the morning! My favourite was the local Balinese juice. Never have we had any sort of stomach upset, instead we felt boosted with energy and encouraged to eat healthy, but still in delicious fashion.

The Rooms:
I've seen a lot of people on here comment on age. Hm. The Laguna is not your latest-hipster trendy-flashy hotel. The rooms have a certain class and heritage to them, in my opinion they carry pride within their luxurious wood and marble (bathrooms) decors. Clean and well-kept, we were always happy to return, be it from our lagoon (direct access), the beach (literally a 1-minute walk), or town.

Staff.
I once had dinner with my parents in Las Vegas' "Stratosphere tower". After a while, we saw a signpost by the kitchen door of the inside of the restaurant, reminding all waiters to "SMILE". As far as we can tell, this is neither necessary nor appropriate on Bali, because staff carry an AUTHENTIC, inert smile towards guests. I mean it.

Pool & Beach.
The lagoons are all lovely, clean, ubiquitous = a pleasure to swim in.
The beach is quiet, maybe too quiet if you're into big surfing waves, but there are other areas on the island for that - for a couple / family swim, Nusa Dua beach is perfect.

Specials:
Trust me, have the "Fresh young coconut"! Totally worth it, and, according to latest US / AUS research, very healthy.
Squirrels: there are lots of funny & cheeky squirrels entertaining guests, you will see what I mean (check out our pics).
Looking for coffee in your room? Need a "pick-me-up" infusion of caffeine? Just pick up the phone, dial "butler", and you can order free Coffee brought to your room.

To sum up,
we can def. highly recommend the Laguna,
it is a truly luxurious, well staffed and well-kept place to relax in!

Room Tip: The "Lagoon access rooms" are def. worth their money!

We stayed five nights at this lovely resort hotel. Right on the beach at nusa dua. Although the resort it quite large the location of our room meant that we were never very far from any of the facilities. The first night we had dinner in the restaurant and whilst this was satisfactory it was really nothing too impressive. We therefore chose to eat out on the other nights of our stay and found much cheeper places and more exotic in the local area. The breakfast I though was included in the room rate and was disappointed to find on arrival At hotel that I had made this mistake. The buffet breakfast was sensational but of course it wish it had been included in the room rate. We did indulge in an hour and a half massage in the spa and it was beautiful. I have to say that every staff member in all areas of the hotel were exceptional. Another nice feature was the complimentary butler service..very nice to order a hot cup of tea or coffee brought to your room on waking, and actually at any time you wished. In all our stay at this hotel was great.

Room Tip: I would have liked a room that had lagoon pool access from your balcony. They seemed to be great.
