Overall an ok experience. Went for a holiday with my girlfriend, a special occasion since it was her birthday. Stayed for 5 nights courtesy of SPG points. Got an upgrade to a lagoon access junior suite which was quite spacious.Unfortunately, the suite smelled strongly of mildew, and I had to have them freshen the place up daily, which they did promptly and without reminding (kudos to the staff). Not so great was the fact that they used a very artificial smelling air freshener instead of something more natural. Overall that sort of sums up the hotel; it is nicely renovated, very complete, and has a great set of facilities, but some of the small things just aren't quite right for a luxury collection hotel. Restaurants were ok - the free breakfast was appreciated, but somewhat lacking in variety if you are staying more than a few days.

The spa experience was similarly mixed; we did a moonlight massage recommended by the hotel, and it was mediocre from a quality perspective, but more oddly, was conducted in an extremely non-private setting. Some people may be ok stripping down in an only semi-screened gazebo, but we certainly were not among that group of people. Overall, very expensive massage by Balinese standards for an indifferent experience.

Beach and pool were both nice, beachside bar was good, and service staff (butler, driver, concierge) were all excellent. They really save the experience and make up for the other weaknesses of the place. Would have been much more unhappy if they hadn't done such a good job overall.

We spent 10 nights at the Laguna as part of our honeymoon and we were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived we received flowers, a welcome drink and a small gift in the room to congratulate us on our honeymoon.

We stayed in a Lagoon view room on the third floor and we were really pleased with the room. The room is spacious and we had a lovely view from the balcony. We both agree with previous comments regarding the bathroom, however it was exceptionally clean and had no complaints. The tea and coffee 24 hr service was excellent, and only took 5-10 minutes to be delivered to the room. The bed was large and very comfy!

The pool area is lovely and we felt that with sun beds throughout the gardens/pools made it feel like a small cosy hotel and not as big as it is. Unfortunately you do need to have an early start if you want sun beds with an umbrella as these were generally reserved by 8.30am. The hotel is right on the beach which was lovely and clean.

The hotel has a nice selection of restaurants, we particular enjoyed the arwana restaurant on the beach which offered a seafood BBQ or al a carte. We were regular visitors to the Kul Kul bar for lunch and for drinks during the happy hours (6-7 and 10-11), we particularly enjoyed the 'very berry martini'! The bar offers simple food for lunch as well as local cuisine, being right on the beach and by the pool was very good. We would also like to mention Martawan working in the bar who was full of personality and made us feel very welcome.

Price wise, the hotel food and drinks were similar those at most 5 star hotels. We went to the Bali collection some evenings where there is a large selection of restaurants.

Nusa Dua is lovely, but not the 'real' Bali, we spent a day up in Ubud which we would recommend and you can hire a driver for the day to take you around.

Overall we had a lovely time and a perfect honeymoon. Our only complaint is that we were there during the start of the APEC conference where hundreds of business people descended on the hotel. For these 3-4 days we felt that staff were more focused on this rather than on the paying hotel guests with staff paying less attention. We understood that this was a important conference, however we felt it should have dealt with better.

However we loved our honeymoon and would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Spent 5 nights at Laguna resort and had the best time. All made possible by our awesome taxi driver Ngurah ( English no problems) who took us to all the white water rafting, knew where to take us shopping to avoid the tourist spots and the most delectable authentic Balinese restaurants. His rate was very reasonable too ( hery_ngurah@yahoo.co.id) Back to Laguna - the bar staff situated on the quiet side area was extremely helpful and so nice. I enjoyed great pizza ( I can say that coz hubby is Italian) and several cocktail beside the pool. One could while the way the afternoon hours quiet easily beside the pool before going for a stroll along the boardwalk to decide which restaurant to dine at dinner.
Coffee and macaroons at the café also highly recommended for those who like a morning coffee.

We were visiting Bali for the first time and we had our 9 month baby with us, so we choose this hotel after a lot of research.

The hotel was a short distance away from the airport. It took us only 20 minutes via the new toll bridge and Usd 15 to get here by blue bird taxi. The hotel is located in a closed gate Nusa Dua complex. So good security, well maintained lawns and roads, very secluded from the noise and crowds of tourist crowds.

Yes, in a way you are not experiencing the real Bali. You are only experiencing luxury of a beach resort. But then this is a place for people who want to totally chill out, relax, sun bathe, swim, romance, and not for people who want to live with the locals and see local Bali life.

The room we got was on the 4th floor, lagoon view room with a nice balcony. It was very peaceful and quiet and the view was lovely. We of course spent as little as time as possible inside the room because the hotel was so vast and lovely. There were 7 pools and some pools had sandy beaches too! The water was very clean and our baby enjoyed being in the pool a lot. I found that there were quite a few romantic couples in the pool also. And many of the pools are secluded and you can enjoy a quiet swim or romancing with your special someone.

There are a lot of chairs for sun bathing, however even at 9 in the morning most of the chairs were reserved by towels - and only occupied much later. So I suggest if you are keen on sun bathing at a particular place - pool or beachside- do reserve your chair by placing towels. The hotel has many poolside shacks from where you can take as many towels as you need.

We had some nice drinks in the pool also - cold coffee, ginger tea, smoothies etc. They were just Ok, not great. I don't think the food was too good here, considering how expensive it is. There are also many sun beds scattered all over, but you need to book them for IDR 220k for full day and IDR 135k for half day. They are actually great and especially great when you have a baby with you. We saw many people having poolside massage in these beds. Looked really relaxing.

The walk from the room to the beach is quite a bit, but since the resort is quite vast walking any and everywhere is quite a bit. The beach was clean and lined with sun bathers. We found very few people swimming in the sea, later discovering that the water barely reached our knees and the sea is not really for swiming. If you are the sort who likes waves breaking on the shore and sea shells etc, this is not the beach for you. On the other hand this beach is great for babies, children and the old. Very calm and very safe.

As for the room itself, our lagoon view room on the 4th floor was very ordinary and very basic. It was not too big. The shower leaked. The toilet and bath were old and almost shabby. But everything was clean and that mattered a lot to us. The resort grounds and pools more than made up for this. If you want you can pick up 2-3 DVDs from concierge and watch them in your room. Our butler was also very helpful. We got an electric kettle and baby cot. Also our butler helped us by heating baby food we were carrying in the kitchen microwave every day.

So all in all it was an awesome vacation, romantic, stress free and enjoyable for our baby as well. Go there if you want to forget the world and just chill!

Room Tip: If possible close to the lift so that you don't have to walk a long way to lagoons.
