“Amazing Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013

We have recently returned from an amazing family holiday at the St Regis Bali. We (myself, wife and twin daughters aged 8) stayed in a plunge pool suite. We upgraded at a discounted rate from a suite originally offered with a view of renovations going on nearby. The plunge pool suite was spectacular with a tropical garden, bale to relax in,decking with luxurious loungers and a plunge pool and jacuzzi. The suite was lovely with elegant furnishings, well maintained and fantastic bathroom with rainshower. The butler service was very attentive and night time hot chocolate/fruit tea and cookies for the girls was a lovely touch.
The hotel design is very Balinese and there is the sound of water flowing everywhere. A lot of thought has gone into the architecture which is stunning ranging from lobby, gardens, restaurants and pools. We have never seen a pool as tropical and tranquil as the salt water lagoon. My daughters loved the main pool and it was difficult to get them out of the pools. The bales by the pool were a wonderful place to relax whilst the girls swam. The beach was also stunning.Golden sand with the waves calming by the afternoon. The loungers on the beach were luxurious and the service very attentive.
The pool bar served some amazing cocktails and our favourites were the passiflora mojito and passion cosmopolitan-true tropical flavours. It was also a great place for lunch. The staff were great and on one day one of my daughters was feeling a bit shivery and within minutes a hot chocolate drink was brought for her without us even asking or thinking of it. We were so impressed.
I celebrated my 50th birthday at the St Regis, Special thanks to Putu Yuliana and his bar team at the King Cole Bar who went out of their way to make my day special. They arranged a cake and sang me Happy Birthday. He also made us a special apple martini. I don't think we have ever had this level of service in a hotel before and have travelled extensively around the world. In fact this is the first hotel that has inspired me to write a review on Trip Advisor.
The breakfasts at Boneka were the best we have ever had. The set up is a mixture of buffet and a la carte. The cinnamon French croissants,Bircher Meusli and delicious fresh juices were something to look forward to. We are vegetarian and the staff went out of their way to accomodate us. The chef made us special Indonesian breakfast dishes without us asking and special turtle shaped pancakes for the girls.
The Gourmand Deli and Kayuputi were also amazing. Please see my separate reviews for these. Didik in the Gourmand Deli looked after us very well.
I must also mention Chef Agung Gede. He went out of his way to make sure we were looked after. He made special breakfast dishes and arranged delicious gourmet sandwiches for when we left. But most importantly he arranged a vegetarian degustation menu for my birthday at Kayuputi. We have not tasted vegetarian food of this elegance and exquisiteness before. The staff at Kayuputi also gave me a cake and sang to me. Lunch at Kayuputi overlooking the beach/ocean was also unforgettable.
My wife went to the spa and also felt the treatments were some of the best she has had. The setting of the spa was beautiful.
Thank you St Regis for the wonderful attention and memories.

My wife and I came to the St Regis to start our honeymoon in Bali and have been impressed with every single thing at the hotel. From their arranging of our pick up at the airport until we were unpacked (they handle the unpacking) in our room the service was top notch.

The facilities are truly amazing from the beautiful beach where there are a number of people there to help you get anything you want, the spa where the people couldn't have been any more pleasant and welcoming making for a fantastic experience and the restaurants which are all top notch.

The Butler service is a great touch, our Butlers Andi and Rita were fantastic and the Chief Concierge Agus was always available to help us with any and everything we needed. We had one incident where a cab took us to the wrong place intentionally and the hotel took this very serious and ensured that this would be addressed. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt great about everything.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a beautiful beach, top notch service and a spectacular overall experience!

Room Tip: We were very fortunate to have a room on the 6th floor facing the ocean, if you aren't going to...

Our stay at the St Regis Bali was pure luxury. The suites were beautifully appointed and spacious with every amenity available. The dedicated butler service was a lovely touch and WaWan was extremely helpful, friendly and discreet. He helped with unpacking, took time to explain what excursions would be suitable for us given the age of our kids. Little touches such as the family tradition serving of hot chocolate or milk for the kids went down very well. I was a little worried that this hotel would cater more for adults than families but I was pleased to discover that there were lots of families visiting at the same time and that it was very family friendly. Despite the number of families, it was not rowdy or overcrowded even though the hotel was at full capacity when we were visiting.

The only negatives were limited availability of high chairs at breakfast time. In addition, the little service touches around the beach / pool that I read about in other reviews were absent during our stay. We hardly ever had anyone ask if we would like a drink by the pool / beach despite spending a great deal of time there each day.

The food was lovely and the semi - buffet arrangement at breakfast was lovely in addition to the rotating dishes from the kitchen that were offered by waiters at your table. Service however at breakfast was not very personal and staff seemed run off their feet and less than attentive. However I think this was due to the hotel running at full capacity. Overall this did not detract too much from the enjoyment of our breakfasts each morning.

We also enjoyed a few spa treatments and the staff at the spa were professional and skilled.

Overall a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Our suite was on the top floor but not ocean facing. We had a view of a golf course being renovated...

I have never stayed and anything even remotely comparable in Bali. I choose the St. Regis a the place to propose to my Girlfriend, so I needed it to be an experience which neither me nor her would ever forget...and I can say that the St. Regis staff did everything to make the stay a true experience.

The Property itself: The Suites are a little closer to the lobby and hence it's a little bit further to walk to the beach. Ground floor suites tend to have a bit of shade (a bit too much for our liking) on the balcony - but that's merely our opinion.

We stayed at a pool villa, and even though all the villa's have access to the laguna, it still feels like you are the only ones there. The level of privacy is just out of this world, and the only time you see how many people are actually staying at the hotel is at breakfast...but I'll come to that in a minute.

So if you are planning on going on honeymoon, proposing or just surpising your better half - take a pool villa rather than a suite...you will know what I mean when you get there. The villas are fairly big, have their own freshwater pool in addition to laguna access (unless you opt for a Gardenia Villa of course). And there is nothing like waking up, and just quickly jumping in the pool.

The Food...well what to say: Breakfast is both, buffet or simply order for them to bring it to your table. A huge amount of fresh juices and other goddies. You really feel that someone has sat down and thought about what to serve, not just the food itself, but how it should be served, how it should look and be presented...very nice experience.

I proposed to my GF at the chappel at the beach side. Hotel staff made sure she thought we were there for a conference, so she didn't suspect anything. The subsequent private dinner in the Chappel was also a moment to remember.

Last but not least, the butler service. They are always cheerful, and one thing we never heard during our stay from them: No. They always found a solution to any issue we had.

Would I come back? Any time.

Room Tip: 806 for one bedroom villa

We stayed there with our friends. Each, family of 3 (1.5 years toddler).

Got an upgrade from our booking through ASIAROOMS from the Suites to Pool Suite Garden for both of reservations.

First impression of the room was what you would expect from St.Regis resorts & their price tags, almost everything is first class, although they do look a bit old & outdated compared to the new resorts. Nevertheless, they are still maybe in the second tier of Bali luxury resorts standard.

The best thing about the trip is probably because of the timing of the trip which was just before the peak season so the hotel is not too overcrowded. Strangely enough, they were overbooked. Hence, our upgrades, However, no body seemed to around, we rarely meet anyone when we are lounging around in the beach or the garden gazebos.

This was our daughter first ever trip to Bali & first ever beach experience, which was why we chose Nusa Dua for their pristine beach & St.Regis. It didn't disappoint at all, during our time in their private beach, it seemed that we owned the beach since almost no one was around, this was also the case for their incredibly fantastic salt water pool. We loved it, it was like having a private 5 stars resort.

The staffs were incredible. The Butler service was magnificent, as in all St.Regis' premises.

The quality of the breakfast might be one of the best that we ever experienced. Wagyu, Foie Gras, Lobster, you named it & they have it :) I like the made-to-order for some menus instead of buffet for everything. They were always offering us incredible food that we never taught possible for a breakfast. Beside the beach & salt water pool, breakfast is definitely the highlight of our stay.

Airport transfer for each family was with brand new Toyota Alphard. They also drive guests from the parking drop-off to the domestic check-in in a golf cart. We found out when we saw our friend whizzed through while we were walking. Unfortunately for us, our driver didn't mention this service to us, which was very disappointing indeed. Service would have been 5 if not for this incident.

Beds are a bit too soft & pillows are not as comfy as other luxury chains. Nevertheless, they are still great.

Spa needs a major upgrade, especially compared to Hotel Mulia's spa next door.

We arrived here after landing at another unnamed Nusa Dua hotel that left us less than pleased. The St. Regis Bali delivered.......and delivered with class. This property is highly recommended. Amazing suites with plunge pools, well groomed property, and professional staff. I can't imagine another hotel in Nusa Dua comparing to this one.
