“nathan is not as bad others review”

I and my family had stayed in nathan hotel from 11-14 feb'12. When I read the other review of this hotel I really worry. However when I came to the hotel I cant create a bad review here. I rent 3 rooms and all room is clean. The aircon is cool. Even the door lock system is very primitive, logically it is save. The street to hotel is about 3 minuteswalking distances to kartika plaza, in front of musro. A few things must be improved are :1. Always use buffet mechanism for breakfast. 2. the shower in bathroom must been upgrade because pressure of the water is a bit weak. The conclusion is the hotel is not as teriblle as other review.

Shampoo n soap were not provided on first day,had to buy fr nearest store. Towel very tired n worn out, bring your own, breakfast not much choice, overall sucks!

Overall: hotel is in a good location less than 5 min walk to Kuta beach and is right in the middle of all of the shopping, restaurants and bars/clubs. The pictures and amenities listed on the website are very deceiving as many if the amenities such as wi-fi and tv room are not available.

Cleanliness: room was very dirty and showed a lot of wear and tear which is surprising based on the pictures provided of the room. Stains all over the walls,bed sheets and mirrors basically a very dirty room and had a strange smell. We bought incense the very first day to handle the smell.

Rooms: have all the necessities and they all worked but that is about it. Everything was very old and not well cleaned. Air conditioner was very loud making it hard to sleep at night. Also there were not real locks on the room doors. When you leave the room the outside 2 door handles are locked with a swinging pad lock you would use at the gym and when you are inside there is a wooden bar that you put through the door handles. Needless to say we always made sure all our belongings were locked up in our suitcases before we left.

Service: was decent and the staff was friendly and helpful when needed. Our AC broke twice and it wa always fixed in the same day. Only complaint would be that we were told we have to pay to use the phone to make a local call and the staff will always try to get you to book a driver through them so they make a commission. We paid $50/ night for the room and were disappointed despite the price.

If you are looking for something very basic for a good price then maybe Nathan hotel would suit you but I am sure there is better quality in Kuta for similar prices. The hotel is also at the end of a very long alley that is not well lit which could also be a safety concern.

Im reading a lot of bad review bout this hotel before... and surprisingly it's absolutely true.... Dont ever2... book for this hotel....the breakfast suck....and dont trust the staff which offer you a free transport for any activites... they actually charge you even expensive for the activity. They offer free wifi..but when we ask for the password, they will told you that the internet line is down....Deluxe Pool Site Room very small and the toilet are SUPER..SUPER smelly.....No tea and coffie amenities and if you need hot water you have to PAY for at least 6000 rp for a jug of hot water....

after book the hotel, only search the advisor's advice. i have almost like to give up ..already standby hotel list. anytime can find another hotel.
finally we have arrive the hotel, served by a small glass of welcome drinks, staff are freindly.. and not lose than 5 start hotel, if compare to other country's 3 star hotel, this is more advance.
the door still using old type lock, this is the tranditional, what they told me..^^, since this is the way thier like to present with bali style..i can accept this^^
room is clean, big bed, only tower is a bit old.. so we didn't use. we have our standby.
a small freeze & with cool drinks, average price rp10 to rp18 for soft drinks and beer.
breakfast is simple.. served simple western & trandition bali breakfast, coffee is good! bali coffee..^^
the road is really narrow, only one car can go. but bali people are helpful, if really facing the problem in give way.. sure will someone help u^^
for those people used to stay in 3star hotel,all here is not a problem, if you like to enjoy a high class hotel with good facility, then maybe not your choice^^
the renovate is still going. but not effect for those torist will leave hotel in earlier morning and back on late evening like us.
only we been effect by Kuta trafic. better if walk or motorbike

Friendly, helpful staff and a comfortable bed, but that's all. It is a good 15 minute walk to the lively bar and disco area, but only 5 minutes from the (less than desirable) Kuta beach and shopping mall. This hotel has just started a very badly needed renovation program, with work commencing really early each day! It is really tired and outdated, both in facilities and quality of rooms. Previously reported poor breakfasts have improved slightly, but only slightly. At the end of the day if you are on a budget give it a go because it is tolerable but, if you can afford a little more, shop around and get somewhere else.

Room Tip: Do not pay extra for the poolside rooms or suites.

Dirty, Dirty, Dirty and did I mention Dirty?
Breakfast............................3 x warmers Full of Cold Unknown Stuff
Toast yes if you can coax the death trap crappy toaster into operation
Eggs to Order except the cook couldn't cook Hard Boiled Eggs
Telephone in your room unable to dial out due to their system not working!?
Bathroom, Smelly, small and Oh Yes Dirty
Location down a dark and dingy back alley..............Don't Go There!!!!!
