“Great Location, Shabby, Smelly Bathroom”
Reviewed September 27, 2010

We stayed for 8 nights in a superior room (room 102). The location was great, handy to everything, with some great restaurants in the vicinity. Check in was painless. Our room was large and clean, but the bathroom was horrible, it was mouldy, the shower screen didn't work and the drains smelt awful. The air con was great though! The balcony off the room was lovely, with a view down to the pool bar. The pool area is great, although the service at the pool bar was lacking. The breakfast as previous posters have mentioned was awful, we ended up bypassing it altogether after 2 failed attempts, I ordered room service once and that too was very poor. All in all, the saying you get what you pay for is really true in this instance, if you are not inteneding on spending alot of time in your room this hotel is fine. We would probably stay here again and would recommend to friends who are after a clean, budget hotel.

Spent 9 days at Satriya 4/9-13/9 in 3 superior rooms one upstairs 2 downstairs. I have to say that I was really disappointed with the rooms here. The deluxe rooms are just lovely at $120 US per nite i did try to upgrade but with Ramadan it wasnt possible. The superior rooms are very shabby, bathroom are mouldy and in desperate need of update shower screen doors do not work properply same in all our 3 rooms, ceiling black and mouldy, toilet seats scratched and stained, bedroom the bedhead plastic peeling on headboard ceilings black as well, the only positive was with the ground floor rooms had lovely patios. As i commented you get what you pay for, so it was lesson learnt for me. Mind you the staff there are excellent, they will do anything for you. Breakfast was average but adequate and included in tariff. Satriya is also a great location. So all in all if you pay 120US for a deluxe room you will have a lovely room with adequate breakfast, great location and good pool with swim up bar. Also have drivers out front of hotel which we used and were really reasonably priced and great guys.

My husband and I stayed here for 16 nights and it was wonderful...We stayed in the new deluxe rooms which were beautiful...the bathroom was just fantastic. the service is quite good although they could have someone at the Pool Bar a little more often. Food was ok, not great...not a huge selection but where your situated it wasn't far to other restaurants. Overall, we found the Satryia was very clean and friendly and will definately stay again.

Room was clean, very beautiful and romantic (we lived in room 201) starting from a hand made door to bathroom.
Large room has 2 zones: "living room" and "bedroom". Air condition is directed to living zone, not to your bed, this makes your sleeping comfortable with no risk to get a flu.
King size bed is beautiful and comfortable.
Staff is friendly and not disturbing.
I really loved location: quite, but walking distance to the beach (3 minutes). 10-15 minutes from the main street with clubs.

my husband and i stayed in the deluxe rooms for 2 weeks they were fantastic. airconditioning really cool we actually turned off sometimes. a first in bali. the kids had the standard rooms for a week and then moved to the deluxe. we'rent that happy with them though i thought they looked fine. except for the steps.
pool was great. not sure what the others reviewing this in august were talking about. i never heard loud music or lots of people. i actually thought that even though fully booked it was quiet hotel. sometimes no one else at the pool. staff really friendly. nice gardens. Looked a bit shabby as you come up to it but that's bali. would def stay again. though the deluxe cost us 950 000 a nite and now are going up to 1200000 but that's still quite reasonable. breakfast was ok no worse than anywhere else i've stayed. go out to the waffle shop like my kids did if you don't like it. kids hired bikes from hotel was cheap. money changer honest not like some of the others we kept getting ripped off from.
all in all it was a great place had people of all ages ... highly recomend.

Near beach, near but not too near nightlife and airport, good swimming pool area, nice enough rooms, breakfast was okay. All round, did the job nicely if you're not looking for luxury or anything too expensive. Was quite a quirky hotel which I liked.

A pretty hotel, which is close to the beach, but bigger and livelier than we were expecting.
We stayed in a standard room which was a good size with good facilities and was good value for the price. We had read several reviews saying how poor the breakfast was; maybe it has improved, but we thought it was fine and there was a good choice which you could eat as much as you wanted of. They didn’t charge us any extra for our children to eat it either.
The hotel is a short walk to the beach (maybe 50m), however, just by walking 5 minutes along the beach (towards Legian) we found that you can hire sun loungers and it is less crowded than if you go straight onto the busy bit of beach opposite to Poppies ii lane.
There was a real mix of nationalities and ages staying there, although the average seemed to be people in their 40s and 50s who had visited there before, and several staying there with a big group of friends.
It seemed a friendly enough place, if that’s the kind of place you’re looking for. For us the pool was just a bit too noisy with loud music from the pool bar and lots of people loudly enjoying themselves – nothing wrong with that, we’ll just stay somewhere a bit more quieter and low key next time.
