We were craving Indian food while on a long holiday in Bali. Found Atithi on trip advisor and decided to try it for dinner.
Location - on a inner lane between jalan legian and jalan melasti. The location is a bit off as marked on TripAdvisor maps.
Ambience - not much to talk about. very unlike any traditional Indian places. Not a air conditioned place, so choose a table near to the many tower cooling units. Toilets average cleanliness could be better maintained.
Food - service takes time as we understand they prepare the dishes fresh. The waitress knew the difference between whole meal rotis and parathas and refined flour nan. The dishes were flavorful, the right amount of spice but may be a bit hot for people not used to spicy food. Very authentic flavour better than many places in Mumbai. Parathas were prepared with ghee and accompanied by panchranga pickle in mustard oil. Portions are adequate. Suitable for vegetarians.
Price: about 30 sgd/aud for 2 people including 2 drinks, 1 tandoori veggie platter, 2 main course dishes, 2 flat breads and a pot of rice.
Overall a good experience, will return for the food... hats off to the cook!
