“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

My wife and I stayed here for 4 days 3 night ( 08 Jan 14 - 11 Jan 14 ), The hotel is more than nice. Friendly staff with huge smiles. Willing to provide services as our expectations within few minutes. Quality of service amazing. Reasonable price. About the food, Fantastic. My wife most enjoyed on their breakfast. Should give more than 5 star. Thanks for Grand Mega Resort to make our days beautiful in Bali. Surely I'll recommend this hotel to my friends who will visit Bali in future.

My partner and I stayed here for 6 days in December and from start to finish the service, room, food, everything was just 5*! upon check in we were given towels and drinks to freshen up and helped up to our rooms by staff. The room is just beautiful and the bathroom is so sleek and modern! we ate from the hotel every day, was such tasty food (chicken fillet with mash and mushroom sauce is my fav :) and breakfast every morning had such a selection with western food, cakes, pastries, juices, fruits, everything you could want! the location isnt the best but a short and cheap taxi ride is easy with the reception ordering for you and if you want to go to the mall across the road the security guard will help you across the crazy traffic road! I cannot recommend this hotel enough, we are already booking our next stay!! thanks so much!

Room Tip: everything is amazing!!

Our family stayed here for just 1 night. We booked 2 rooms for 2 adults and 3 older children)
Pros.
We got rooms cheaply (approx $80 per room per night incl breakfast)
Comfy beds, and good rollaway bed)
Friendly staff.
Reasonably close to airport (was half hour drive in very busy New Year's Day traffic)
Reasonable food.
Free wifi ( strength variable between rooms)
Cons.
Horrible location(on very busy road - shopping mall across the road but you risk your life crossing the road)
Dark rooms with bad lighting.
Quality of fixtures in rooms very poor.
Very impractical bathroom (big but poorly designed and low quality)
Musty damp smell in corridors and rooms.
Asked for 1 twin and 1 double room but got 2 doubles.
Asked for adjoining rooms - got rooms on same floor but not together.

I would not stay here again due to location and poor quality of rooms. It was ok as we were just transiting thro Bali for 1 night - I would not have wanted to stay any longer. Not particularly family friendly as they didn't follow our booking request re bed set up and need for adjoining rooms.

We reserved a family suite at a steep discount rate six months prior to our trip. Since we had reserved the room, I have been reading comments on Trip Advisor and other sites and found out that there were some negative reviews, and thus we thought that we had made a mistake. As it was a non-refundable rate, we just hoped everything would be OK.

Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by cold drinks prior to check-in. Check-in staff were friendly and helpful. In contrast to many reviews, the noise level from the pool has never caused any problem as far as our suite (Rm 229) was concerned, partly because our room was located outside facing the highway, and there was a door between the pool side corridor and the corridor in front of the room.

The suite was wide enough to accommodate two adults and two teenagers (we added one extra bed-no extra charge). In the suite, there were flat screen TV, another TV in the bathroom, two wash basin, shower, bathtub, a dining table, a refrigerator, and a microwave oven. Four bottles of water were supplied every day. Staff members are friendly and helpful.

The breakfast including a combination of Western and Indonesian foods, as well as different kinds of fruit juices are also served everyday.

I would also like to add that there are shuttles running to Kuta (Center) a few times a day, and if you plan well, this would be a convenient service.

The hotel is located right across the street from a major local shopping mall, where you can buy virtually everything at a reasonable price. While the security guard may be able to cross the street, I would advise you to walk for 200m west to the roundabout to cross the street using zebra crossings as traffic is always heavy.

Despite the various complaints appeared, I would say that this hotel will be among the choices I will make next time.

Room Tip: As many people have reviewed, rooms facing the swimming pool may be noisy, though they have better...

We stayed here in Dec 2013 for 2 nights.
Rooms are average but the bathroom is exquisite and as big as the main room.
Breakfast spread is good with many options.
Only disadvantage is that its a little far away from Jalan Legian which is the main street in Kuta for shopping and nightlife. It takes 20 mins to get there from the hotel by Taxis which are pretty cheap in Bali.
Staff was helpful and courteous.

Doesn't deserve the four star rating. More like a 2 or 3 star resort. We checked in at about 3.30pm and was told by the front office GSA that we will need to wait for a moment as they need to check the condition of the room before we can proceed to our room. Hence we waited for quite sometime but still no room for us despite we saw a few guest who came later than us and got their rooms. After that we were told that we are given a complimentary upgrade to pool side view due to the high occupancy, so we thank the GSA and proceed to our room, but when we entered the room, we were shocked to see the room was with double bed instead of one king size bed. We then called the operator and expressed our concern over the bed. The operator rudely told us that the room was upgraded on complimentary and if we insist on the king bed, then they will have to downgrade us. The operator then requested us to go back down to the check in counter to collect the key card, which makes us even more angry, so we insisted that the key card should be sent to us instead. This is not the service standard that a 4 star resort should have. Yes, we understand that this was a complimentary upgrade, however we should be informed in advance that the upgraded room is with double bed instead of a king bed as they clearly know that we are travelling as a couple. After that is up to us whether to accept the upgrade or not. After all the hassle we finally went into our room, but to our surprise the room has no view at all. All the windows are sealed tight, which means there were no supply of fresh air. Also there was barely any sunshine as the decor outside the resort nearly blocked the whole window. Overall the resort's service was poor and not up to standard.
