We stayed for 9 days over the July school hols and the Patra was very nice but I thought a little over priced for Bali at $250AUD per night. A beer by the pool was R55k ($5.50AUD) when available elsewhere for <R20k and a small fries cost R65k. The room was 1 bedroom studio style so the kids slept in the lounge and traipsed thru our room to the bathroom. Breakfast was great but the egg line was very busy, perhaps a few ready cooked during the rush hour? A bit far from town to stroll so spend a lot of time waiting for a taxi though it is only $1 into Kuta or 20 min walk along beach. Beach this end is very tidal and not good for swimming with a lot of coral.

Room Tip: Close to beach and pool villas are best

We have stayed at the Patra twice now in the last 18 months. In June this year we had our wedding there, it was simply amazing, they took care of everything and were very easy to work with. We had 60 of our guests also stay at the wedding and they all loved it, the service was great :)

We used Stacey at Beli Edge for our wedding planning and hair and make up, she was amazing. She was very easy to work with as she is an Australian girl originally from Melbourne. I would highly recommend her if your thinking of getting married in Bali.

We stayed the first 10 nights at The Patra with all of our guests then after the wedding we went up to Ubub and SEminyak to end the trip. On our last night in Bali, we were in Seminyak and our flight got cancelled, the hoetl we were in was booked out so we had to leave. We went back to the Patra, and got a free nights accommodation, breakfast and transfers.

Yesterday was my return visit after the first one in thirteen years ago. The place has been changed, today is better. The name has been changed from Patra Jasa bali to Patra Hotel that brings positive spirits. I spent about two hours at the Lobby Lounge chatting with its GM - Pak Nyoman - who has successfully directed his squad as professional hotelier. Friendly, warm and refreshing place. No wonder the occupancy rates maintained high at roughly 80% all over the year.

The good news is that the place is great for any ages including children and pensioners. Right on the beach front and it has also a tennis court for dynamic guests.

Room Tip: Must book in advance!

Booked the Patra after reading other reviews. Last minute decision to go to Bali - the family needed a change of scene and some R'n'R!
The hotel location was our main disappointment - It is a good 20 minute walk to the Discovery Centre in the main part of Kuta, and there is very little in between except other big hotel frontages. We found this a problem as there is nowhere close to patra to buy a cold drink, ice cream etc so you are stuck with paying hotel charges - Expect to pay Australian prices! ie:$4.20 for a latte. Room service meals and babysitting were the same - we didn't use it as a result. Also noticed the pool bars were very quiet & never saw the poolside massage service being used!! The costs in the hotel was a big surprise to us as, 3 years ago in Sanur, we had been paying about half of Au prices in the hotel, & less again at restaurants / cafes.
The only positive to it's location was being so close to airport from a transfer aspect and we really had NO problem with the planes, as noise was minimal.
Breakfasts were fab - my kids (7 & 6) loved it! Great choice of foods - continental and cooked choices and just about every other food imaginable - watch the waistline!!
Delux suite was fine for us - nice to have a small "dining area" as well as bedroom. Kid's beds were fine and everything working and clean. Looked out over the pond and italian themed restaurant - very pretty and tranquil - all the grounds were kept impeccably and were an asset to the hotel.
Main pool was just warm enough - ok, not really!! Weather was warm, but often overcast so maybe without direct sun, this had an effect... would hate it to have been a deep pool as it would have been way too chilly! Depth perfect for kids with a bit deeper area for adults. 2 other lovely pools as well. Kids enjoyed themselves and met new friends. used kids club - fine, and not busy. Kids were well looked after and had plenty of activities.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but wouldn't stay here again due to location and pricing.

Room Tip: we had a ground floor room - garden delux room - very nice. Lovely big bath and great separate shower unit.

I've only had limited time at the Patra Bali, as it's typically an overnight stay while traveling for business. However, each time I've stayed in the Deluxe Suite and have thought of returning for a few days with the family. The grounds are immaculate, the food is very good (I haven't tried the Japanese restaurant though). The location is very convenient to the airport ~ 5min.

The staff is very pleasant and greets you with a nice cool juice at reception.

I'll have to do another, more accurate review when I return in 2 months, but wanted to finally "join" the TA family by posting up some overdue reviews.

Room Tip: I enjoyed the deluxe suite; a substantial bedroom & bathroom with a similar sized living area.
