Me and my fiancé came from perth to check in on a Tuesday morning and to our surprise our booking mysteriously had been cancelled- 4 weeks before we came up - my partners mum was already here and made sure that everything was all good for us for when we came over and double checked with the staff at the reception, all was fine and everything was in order for us apparently according to the reception member.. The staff were not friendly and didn't want to help us out in any way at all- we were just standing there for well over an hour ,wanting answers but instead the staff were attending other people and kept on waking away pretending that we were not there. They even had the decency to charge us nearly $50 Australian to use their phone to make calls to my mrs mums phone which by the way had not even gotten through because she didn't pick up the phone....this is by far the worst experience ever, we had nowhere to stay and we ended up coming back home on the next flight that we could get back to perth... Thanks for wrecking our holiday..

We will definitely investigate this and I assure that i will get to the bottom this and ensure action is taken. In the meantime, I would sincerely appreciate if you could provide me more details of this.

There could have been some miscommunication on your reservations. We normally accept our guests first if there is some glitch in their reservations, and then later we contact the travel agent who made the reservations for them for more details.

We apologise for our staff's poor handling of the incident and would assure that this will not happen again. We would certainly appreciate if given an opportunity to redeem ourselves to serve you both again, and please let know how we could do that.

Please do not hesitate to contact me and I personally would like to welcome both of you again to the Ramayana Resort & Spa.

Thankyou to Sam, Neva, Nofi, Emi and Raka and many others, who worked in the Stadium Bar endlessley to meet our expectations of a fun filled service plus and outstanding stay at Ramayana Resort & Spa in Kuta. Thankyou to the desk clerks and kitchen staff, whom without cost or fuss made my husband a birthday cake, sang happy birthday for him with candles lit, a very memorable time that we will treasure for ever. We cannot fault this hotel in any way possible, from the room to the food to the endless smiles from all of the staff. Dont be shy to ask for anything as you will recieve within reason. Ramayana i believe, for a first time visit to Bali is a must stay Hotel as it is central to most commodities within walking distance, ie the beach, money exchange, grocery shopping, small chemist and also ideal for taking in the atmosphere at Bubba Gumps (crazy fun ), Matahari's, Poppies lane ii, the Shrine, Tubes (lunch), Bagus Bar and many others. Thankyou to all at Ramayana we definatley will be back xxx

I understand now why people get upgrades, some of the rooms are absolutely terrible. We ended up getting a beautiful room by the pool after two terrible rooms. The hotel were quite understanding that these were awful rooms and happy to move us which we appreciated. We had a great stay, the breakfast is exceptional but a sour taste was left in our mouths after the hotel tried to charge us extra on our departure. Apparently the exchange rate had gone up since we had paid for our room so they wanted to add on $50 or so. Even the exchange rate they were using was ridiculously inflated, so everything we bought at the hotel cost a lot more on departure. They advertise things in Rp then convert it to US and then it is charged on our cards in AU. I thought the hotel was good enough to not have to rip money off their customers.
We had a lovely time in our beautiful room by the pool with the great breakfast. It is in a central location but I think we would prefer to stay a little out of the hustle and bustle next time!

Dear Valued Guest

Thank you for your review of our hotel on Trip Advisor.

It was good to know that you did have a great stay..and enjoyed our sumptuous breakfasts served at the Gabah Restaurant.

We do have different type of rooms, and guests who make bookings online through our website can actually choose the rooms they fancy...You are always welcome to send us email for more details....

As for the changing exchange rates....Most hotels in Bali are quoting rates in US Dollars, and naturally prices will go up and down according to the fluctuation of USD following the official exchange rates set up by our government. ...but there are times when AUD is much higher than USD....

Thank you again for your review, we look forward to welcoming you back to Ramayana Resort & Spa in the future.

With best regards
Sincerely yours

I had traveled for two days to get to Bali, and had arranged for a pick up with the hotel before arriving as I knew I would be too tired to try and figure my way around. The driver was standing right outside the airport holding a sign with my name on it which kept things nice and simple. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a room ready for me when I got to the hotel as well at 10:00am. After a quick freshen up, I headed out into Kuta and was very impressed with how central the hotel was. It was just minutes to the beach, and there were plenty of restaurants and shops all within a short walk. The location is ideal if you are looking to be submersed in the hustle and bustle of Kuta.

The pool was very well kept as well, and there are even a few restaurant choices right on the resort. I only had the free breakfast that was offered, and it was quite decent with a few different options to choose from.

The room was ok. Certainly not a 5 star, but decent with two single beds, TV and bathroom. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable.

The only downside I would say was the wifi wasn't working for the entire time I was there. I'm not sure if that is an ongoing issue, but there are plenty of free wifi spots all around Kuta so you won't be without a shortage of internet access.

Overall if you are looking for a clean room close to the action in Kuta, then this place is just what your looking for.

Can't go past the position of the Ramayana, right on Kuta Square, breakfast was fantastic with lots of variety, everything we had was fresh and tasted great. Our room was always clean and the beds were really comfortable. There was a DVD player in our room which is handy. I do think that wifi should be included in the price of the room as many cheaper hotels do. I would not hesitate in recommending the Ramayana to others.

Room Tip: We upgraded to an executive delux room. Well worth it as we like to have a balcony.
