I had traveled for two days to get to Bali, and had arranged for a pick up with the hotel before arriving as I knew I would be too tired to try and figure my way around. The driver was standing right outside the airport holding a sign with my name on it which kept things nice and simple. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a room ready for me when I got to the hotel as well at 10:00am. After a quick freshen up, I headed out into Kuta and was very impressed with how central the hotel was. It was just minutes to the beach, and there were plenty of restaurants and shops all within a short walk. The location is ideal if you are looking to be submersed in the hustle and bustle of Kuta.

The pool was very well kept as well, and there are even a few restaurant choices right on the resort. I only had the free breakfast that was offered, and it was quite decent with a few different options to choose from.

The room was ok. Certainly not a 5 star, but decent with two single beds, TV and bathroom. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable.

The only downside I would say was the wifi wasn't working for the entire time I was there. I'm not sure if that is an ongoing issue, but there are plenty of free wifi spots all around Kuta so you won't be without a shortage of internet access.

Overall if you are looking for a clean room close to the action in Kuta, then this place is just what your looking for.

Can't go past the position of the Ramayana, right on Kuta Square, breakfast was fantastic with lots of variety, everything we had was fresh and tasted great. Our room was always clean and the beds were really comfortable. There was a DVD player in our room which is handy. I do think that wifi should be included in the price of the room as many cheaper hotels do. I would not hesitate in recommending the Ramayana to others.

Room Tip: We upgraded to an executive delux room. Well worth it as we like to have a balcony.

It is not mystery why most of the reviews are 3 or 4. We stayed for a total of about a week.

PROS:
-Best location for the Kuta area. 30 seconds from the market, 3 minutes to the beach, right on the strip with many great hotels either way you want to walk
-The one thing that cannot be knocked is the service. Service with a smile, and prompt and genuine efforts from ALL of the staff.
-The food is good enough. Huge menu, and you can always go back to some comfort food if you have had too much Nasi Goreng.
-Breakfast every morning is buffet style, and is not too crowded.
-The Resort Club room was acceptable, the balcony was very nice.
-The pools were well maintained, and the pool bar was alright.

CONS:
-Breakfast is pretty much the same every day
-The rooms need a serious upgrade. I felt like I was waking up in 1997 every morning with some of the appliances.
-The Resort Club is not worth it. The perks are good as far as discounts, but I dont think the room, or the resort club area is worth it at all. Its just free tea, and an awkward lounge
-WIFI. Absolutely unbelievable that a resort and spa does not have free wifi, and is nickle and diming people on this, and it is of terrible quality as far as connection too!
-Although the gardens are well maintained, the rooms had some general grime and uncleanliness to them
-The spa was average, and very overpriced in relation to the spas outside of the resort

Bottom line: Ramayana is acceptable, decent, and pretty good. Do those words jump out at you? No? Well, there are definitely better places in the area and in Bali, but the value of this place is pretty solid. Yeah it has its problems, but I didnt pay that much at all to stay there, so it really comes down to how much time you will be staying at the resort, and how big your wallet is.

Room Tip: Go pool side view. Street is noisy. Don't go for resort club.

Kuta is chaotic. It can be fun. ..or tiresome. The hotel is in the centre of it all. A good location if you are happy with the hustle and bustle...I found it tiresome and my wonderful wife didn't.
The hotel is pleasant if you can look past some cleanliness issues. These would be so easily corrected if they were keen!
Pool area quite nice. Included breakfast buffet a reasonable standard.
Not a special place. ...a pleasant place.
We probably won't stay again.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor.

We are indeed located in the centre of everything: restaurants, cafes, shops, art shops, supermarket, ATMs….and even the beach is only 4 minutes walk from the hotel….

Naturally there are hustles and bustles.

We will certainly put the extra effort in maintaining the cleanliness at the resort at all times.

Hope you will come again in the future and do contact us or send a message in your next booking that you want a quiet room. We will do our best to assign a quiet room for you….

Thank you again and with warm regards
Sincerely yours

We stayed 3 nights at the Ramayana in the normal 'deluxe' room with garden view. On the positive side, we liked the pool facilities and the breakfast very much. Also the rooms were ok. The only drawback is the noise during the day, until about 11pm, caused by high volume music from the bars in the street. Not a big issue if you are away all day, but don't come here if you are looking for a quiet place! Finally the tour desk next to the reception can be useful, but it's a pity that they also initially try to rip you off, just like all the street vendors in Kuta. Finally, the location was good, in a central street of Kuta, very close to the beach.

Dear Valued Guest

Thank you for your review of Ramayana Resort & Spa in Kuta, Bali, where you stayed during your Bali holiday.

We are happy to hear that you have enjoyed our pool facilities and our daily buffet breakfast at Gabah Restaurant.

Being located in the centre of Kuta, we are close to Cafes and Restaurants where at times they were featuring their music too loud to attract customers. Sorry to hear that it has disrupted your wish of tranquility…which we actually could provide if only you notify us. We could relocate you to the garden rooms away from the noise…..

About the tour desk, we would appreciated if you could provide us with more information so we can improve.

We do look forward to welcoming you once again to the Ramayana Resort & Spa in the future.

Wishing you our best regards
Sincerely yours
