I feel as though the photo of the pool suckered me in...the lobby looks highly impressive as you first arrive. A gorgeous leafy Balinese garden with a zen pond, water features and statues. Its beautiful.
But our room was less than impressive, it was rather small which isnt so bad, we werent planning to spend much time in the room as we wanted to explore Bali. The room was also very dark, not much natural light at all. The worst part was that one of the drains in the bathroom really stank, and so the room just smelled like a sewer drain as a result. It really needed a good clean out with bleach or some draino, it just stank.
Additionally, the bathroom was tiny and felt very cramped. Old amenities too, it appeared clean as in wiped down but due to how old it was it just felt a bit dirty and used. I also am not a fan of shower/bathtub combos, i will never have a bath in a shower, but I understand they needed to save space as it is a very small bathroom.
We had the balcony door open to try air the room out, and noticed we needed to have the door and blinds open anyway to allow enough natural light in to see.
The infinity pool on the roof top was amazing, the photos of it convinced me to book this hotel in the first place...might pay a bit more attention to the room next time. The view over looks Kuta Beach and we did spend an enjoyable afternoon and early evening up there before heading down to the beach for sunset.
Overall, we only spent one night here. We spent 4 nights previously at another hotel, but they didnt availability for the full 5 nights, hence our 1 night stay here (our last night of the trip, too). It was OK for 1 night, but I wouldnt have put up with the horrible smell any longer than that.
I dont think I would return here... or at the very least id ask for a better room with a view of the lobby garden but it was OK as a cheap option in Kuta, the location was excellent, very close to Jl Legian and Poppies Lane. Next door to Hard Rock Cafe/Hotel. Wasnt the best stay but as I said, it was OK for 1 night and if you plan on spending most of your time out of the room, exploring, having fun etc.
