We took our 4.5 year old and 3 year old here on Saturday as a fun last activity in Bali. I had read many reviews, taking the good with the bad, really hoping that the people writing the bad comments were just being picky. I hate to say, but they were not.
It cost us approximately $50AUD to enter, paying for just 2 adults as we wanted to take advantage of a promotion we had spotted on their website - pay 2 adults and 2 children are free. You had to email ahead though, which we did. When we arrived they did not have our email, the lady spent a long time on the phone trying to sort out the missing email. It took 20 minutes to get a ticket; then we were told we needed to pay $10AUD as deposit for a locker and to buy things inside so we waited some more. Finally, we get in . . .
We were expecting the park to be a little older and not so perfect and we were OK with that. There was often not enough water for the slide to carry the rider to the bottom. I watched one Mum waiting for her very small child at the bottom of a slide, I could see she was worried. Turns out the child had got stuck up the slide as there was not enough water to bring her down! My 3 year old rode on my lap several times, my legs threatening to stick to the slide because of the lack of water. I would go so far as to say some of the small slides are dangerous for young children due to the pitch of the slide and lack of water. The water is murky with a slight green tinge to it, we couldn't help but feel a little uneasy about the water quality.
There is a Park Photographer that wanders around, taking photos of your visit in order for you to purchase them on departure. I would not have had a problem with this except for the fact that the park was quite busy and he would not leave me and my kids alone. It made me feel very uncomfortable and we made effort to evade him but he kept following. My husband and I were quite upset about it; when I decided I had had enough of the pervert, er, I mean photographer, I got out of the water and covered my whole body with a sarong, leaving my husband and sons to play. He then moved along and took photos of other people, ironic, hey? . . .
Our boys were not tall enough to enter the lazy river and the bigger slides even with us accompanying them. We were disappointed as this does not seem to be mentioned anywhere on their website or at the ticket counter. We wouldn't have been so keen to take our young children if we knew they couldn't enjoy the whole park as we can visit a splash park in our own town.
We also saw a couple of small childen urinate in the water and then young babies in the water with no nappies, no one seems to bat an eyelid. That was the last straw for us. We bribed our kids out of the water with iceream . . . from a shop outside the park.
