The hotel is situated at the end of the narrow alley away from the center of Kuta. A major, six-lane boulevard (Sunset) separates the hotel from the center and is not crossable without a serious detour. The area around the hotel is not pedestrian-friendly and there are limited shopping and restaurant options.
The hotel itself is decorated in bright orange and 'young and trendy' style that resembles a lot like Easyjet. The staff is friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable.
Yet my main problem is that the hotel exploits its isolated location: a hotel taxi to Kuta center costs RP 85,000 while a radio taxi costs around RP 20,000, or a 4x markup. The staff constantly tries to upsell you services (dinner, taxi, etc), making it feel even more like a low cost airline carrier. The room itself is littered with promotions and advertisements on little cards scattered around the room.
The problem is, it is not a particularly low cost hotel, as many other better are more convenient options exist in this price range in the area.
Some times, you'd just like a nice quiet hotel in which you can relax (you tend to look for that in a destination like Bali).
