Owner description: There are very few places in the world where ordinary people can dive in a real submarine. There is an option to add watersports in order to make a complete day at beautiful Amuk Bay.

Despite lots of rainy weather, this was a fun activity for our family, (2 kids age 9 and 10). Submarine was very well maintained and professional. And yes, there is a machine that goes "ping"!! Transfers from hotel, bbq lunch included, and staff were friendly. Drive to venue was also interesting as you go through a different part of Bali. We all enjoyed the morning.

We took the family package which includes shuttles to/from our hotel and buffet lunch. The driver picked us up at the lobby of our hotel on time, using nice and clean air-conditioned van. Drive time from Kuta was 1.5 hours.

After we arrived, we were ushered to the reception area, where we were greeted and then showed us our table where we sit and wait. Many people around us (from previous group, I assume) were eating the lunch buffet, and we only sat down and drank hot coffee as we were told by the staff to have our lunch after the trip.

A little bit clueless as no more info being given by the staff, I decided to walk to the beach, then the staff started to gather people for the next trip. A short boat ride to the submarine then we went to wander the depth of Amuk Bay.

As a scuba diver, I was truly disappointed by the reef (or whatever left) condition there. It was like wandering through the rubble of ground zero post 9-11!! I saw some metal cages has been planted to re-build the reef, but they were still in their premature stage. The submarine operator has to put a scuba diver with fish foods in his hands around the submarine in order to attract fishes for us! After about 45 minutes of Captain Nemo's experience, we resurfaced and boated back to shore where we had our lunch.

It was around 2pm and we were (I guess) the 3rd batch of guests of the day. Lunch were pretty much leftovers (plural usage was actually a little bit inaccurate), and the wifey was very unhappy with this. She inquired about this to the kitchen staff, hoping to get a simple apologetic response, but instead she get a snappy sarcastic reply. Off to the manager she went. The manager quickly approached our table and apologized, and somewhat magically a bunch of fresh grilled prawns appeared on the buffet table.

They seems to run the operations rather amateurishly, which I wonder why, as I know they are big (and rich) operator, having been in the business for years. Their staff are nice (except for the lady behind the buffet table) and ready to help, but then the service should be standardized, guests are to be well-briefed, and they should try to sell extra water activities harder.

Don't set your hope too high, just come for the submarine experience.

Dissapointing, no colourfull coral, very few fish, Zebra fish
mainly. the service was good, the B.B.Q. was very nice.
the experience in the Submarine was new.
However I would liked to have seen lots of colorful fish and coral.

When goggling for activities to fill our kids summer vacation in Bali, we stumbled upon this submarine ride. I thought..... "wow a real submarine experience.....why not."

The price included pick up and drop off from the hotel, BBQ lunch and the 30 minute submarine ride, including safety equipments and guide.

Our hotel was in Ubud, so it took about 1.5 hours to get to the submarine dive location, which was a clean, clear, black sand seaside with the mountain as a backdrop. Very serene and quiet.

The submarine it self was well maintained and operated. The guide spoke many languages and was very intertaining. The underwater view was wonderful and we saw many tropical fishes with bright colors, corals, and a few sting rays and turtoises. They also showed us the coral " plantations" that they were working on to help with regenerations of the corals and fishes in that area.

After the dive, we were served a BBQ lunch, with fresh grilled saefood and some local fares. Then we each got a " submarine dive certificate" with our picture on the submarine as a souvenir.

All in all, an interesting and fun experience for my entire family, kids and adults alike
