I have been to Bali many times over the last 20 years and eaten at many a so called good restaurant throughout the island. Warung Malang serves a mix of traditional Balinese with Javanese and Cantonese thrown in, and the freshest of seafood. On any given day you will find a mix of locals, tourists and expats enjoying a gastronomical feast. Takeaway also available. Dinner time (around 8.30) will see an almost full house. At most other times seating will generally be abundant. The restaurant is a leisurely stroll down Jalan Paltimura from Jalan Legian passing local homes, tailors shops and night market on the bend is the christian church on left (balinese style building/compound) then a little further down on the right you will see Warung Malang. The cost to feed 3 adult aussies, 2 adult balinese and 3 adolesant balinese children including soft drinks and Bintang is less then AUD $50-00 and all will leave with very full tummies. The avocado and chocolate drink is a must try. Highly recommended.
