Landed in Bali with an Air Asia flight at noon - didnt get to the hotel until 2:30PM. :( This is because of 2 things:
1. There are 2 Mercure hotels in Bali. If you didnt tell them Harvestland, they will take you to the one in Kuta. Like what happened to us.
2. And if you do get taken to Kuta. You will have to be stuck on the most horrible traffic at Sunset Rd caused by some road construction that the taxi driver said had gone on for more than 1 yr, before reaching Jl Simpang Siur, where the hotel is.

But upon reaching the hotel, the staff was nice and courteous.

Our room was small but neat and clean. There was some lingering cigarette smell in the bathroom, but no trace of the actual cigarette.

In the bathroom, there are small tubes of shampoo and bath gel. As we were staying for more than 1 day, they did not replace the shampoo and bath gel, which was too late to call for replacement when we showered the 2nd day only to run out of them in the middle of showering, which wasnt nice.

The hallway was echoey and we can hear people going up and down the hall as it was un-carpeted. But most people were decent enough not too make too much noise.

The breakfast was OK and standard.

It is a bit far from other attractions, though there are some big souvenir outlets within walking distance from the hotel.

Going out of the hotel is easy as the taxi can help call a cab. But the traffic on that intersection at Sunset Road is going to get you one way or the other. Especially if you want to go to Kuta. It will get you on the way back as there is no other way around them. But traffic does get better in late evenings though.

Funky Hotel with good well serviced rooms, service was well up to the standards you expect of a Mercure Hotel. Breakfast was adequate be it biased to Asian food. I ate dinner a number of times and was satisfied with all the food I tasted and the chef made me food off the menu without hesitation. If you no your way around Kuta you can walk to the beach in 20/25 minutes . The hotel has a shuttle. Only issue is that if you want to walk crossing the By-Pass can be difficult.

The hotel has a nice, clean and spacious room. The front office staffs were friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is small. At 3:30 am, there will be sound of prayer. The location, it is right in the centre of traffic jam. If you leave the hotel after 8 am, there will be major traffic in front of the hotel. The traffic will last until 6pm.

We stayed 2 nights at the Mecure Harvestland, firstly because of the excellent value for money but also the proximity to Kuta. Having been to Kuta before, we knew our way around so weren't too bothered about not staying right in the centre.

The hotel is located on a very busy main road, which at the moment is undergoing a lot of road works. But I have to say I never heard the road or any noise from our room. The walk to Kuta beach is around 45 minutes, just be careful because there isn't pavement everywhere and with all the road construction it can be dangerous, especially when attempting to cross a road!

On arrival our booking couldn't be found. We booked through Expedia many months in advance but they didn't have our booking. Nevertheless, they showed us to a room and said they would contact Expedia to resolve it. Which they did and in the morning it was all sorted.

The rooms are lovely and spacious, very comfy beds and a nice big shower. Tea and coffee in the room and also free WiFi in the hotel was a bonus. We didn't eat here, just had room only so I can't comment on the food. We would definitely return to this hotel again for a short stay in Kuta.

The hotel is new, clean, comfortable...but those thin walls killed it all for me. Located very close to the airport this is hotel is in prime location for people who want to land late and then leave for Ubud or elsewhere the next day. Check in is a snap and the breakfast is good. The free shuttle to the beach area is a nice bonus. But all night I was kept awake by loud people marching up and down the stairs and the hall. It sounded like the walls were made of paper. Not a restful experience. But if you are looking for a fairly luxurious place to crash after a fun night of drinking this is your place!
