We stayed only 2 nights as our main trip was to go to Balian (2 hours north) for 2 weeks. All we wanted is a place to recoup from the long trip (fm QLD Australia with small kids) and pick up supplies before our journey, so it suited our purpose. We got 2 rooms side by side so that hubby & I can alternate having 1 decent night sleep and 1 with the kids for a not-so-decent night sleep. As far as baby proofing the rooms were ideal for that. Cleanliness in bathrooms was an issue. Everything that the negative reviews is correct, although we didnt go out late at night so we had no issue - we are confident travellers anyway. Staff barely speak english, especially staff who serve breakfast. I loved that part of it as I was intending to learn as much Indonesian as possible this trip. Also, I think they market to the local Indonesians who visit from Jakarta etc so dont expect a western experience. First morning we trundled upstairs to breakfast/pool area and waited 20 minutes before anyone came to serve. Remember this is a SMALL hotel and no traditional type western serving area. What we found is that they gave you 2 choices say, noodles or pancakes and you just picked. What we found is that it was better to stick your head into the kitchen door and bumble to ask what the choices were (as we saw visiting Indonesians do) rather than wait. Pancakes were FANTASTIC! Pool is very small, splash pool, so not great if you intend to lounge around. Lovely to stand on roof and watch the locals. Would I stay here again? The price of 2 rooms for a very quick stay, yes I would. If you need budget but you are staying in Bali for more nights then go elsewhere. It is a "stop-over" place, not a traditional holiday accommodation

The hotel is located inside some alleys with no lighting. At night there were dogs out in the alleys and it wasn't nice walking through them at night.

The hotel room was nice and new but not maintained. There were mushrooms growing out of the bottom of the sink! The staff were really nice though, and the communal area at the front of the hotel and the dipping pool on the roof are nice.

I would say you could probably do better than this hotel in Kuta, but not a disaster if you stay here.

Our experience with this hotel was a bad one from the start. First, the pictures are deceiving. It's not as clean or as new as it is. Our rooms were mouldy and not well cleaned. Secondly, the location is horrible. While it may be within minutes of walking distance, it is located in the far end of a very very dark alley. There were 4 of us but we felt insecure as we had to pass by a few unlit street, a disused building, and a dark field to reach our hotel which was 10 mins walk off the street. During check in, blackout happened. We dealt with it but what was worst was that the hotel quoted a very high USD to IDR exchange rate. When we decided to pay in USD, the hotel did not have enough USD change and only accepts USD notes of a certain year onwards! When the reception wanted to return our change in IDR, I insisted to be given the same rate, but she only agreed with displeasure and then admitted that her hotel rate is higher than usual. The hotel provides free airport transfer. The flight out was 6am and we have arranged for airport transfer at 3.30am. However, the reception tried to deny this. The next day, the driver only arrived at 4.00am after much hassling and calls through the security guard as there was no reception in the morning. Had it not been for the complimentary airport transfer, the hotel is not worth a stay and from the services provided and the price charged, it seems more like a motel than a hotel. Btw, the pool is really small, just for dipping. One kick and u'll reach the other end.

Located in the back alley opposite Green Garden Hotel among the local abodes is this 5 storey, roof top pool affair. Its a simple, small budget hotel with appealling modern minimalist/zen decor. I was upgraded from superior to deluxe room. The hotel staff were amazingly super helpful and personable - they assisted my hubby with the wi-fi settings on his mobile phone courtesy of written instructions left behind from a previous hotel guest who managed to change settings on his mobile. Wi-fi is only available at the front desk zone only though, the best spot is under the clock on the wooden 2 seater.
The guests are a mostly made up of backpackers, singles and couples, and they have a common open living area on each floor in the building and premises are pretty quiet and tranquil with the breeze blowing on the suspended lanterns/lights hung from the 5th floor ceiling. The rooms are clean and equipt with mini fridge, safe, a wall mounted lcd tv. The deluxe had a small balcony and a bath tub instead of a shower stall. No facilities for making hot beverages. My balcony faced the back alley overlooking local residences and not at all noisy. The plunge pool/jacuzzi at the roof top is a nice feature as the hotel building is taller than the rest in the area, its nice to laze and look at the planes crusing to land and lights all over the island at night and enjoy the night breeze. There is an sheltered area next to the pool set up with 2 massage beds but there is no indication anywhere if this service is available. Anyway the main road is lined with salons offering massage and spa/beauty services all within the same price range of each other.
Breakfast is a simple affair of fried Indonesian rice/noodle or sandwiches and coffee/tea.
The hotel is about 350m away from Waterbom park and Discovery mall with all the fast food outlets and banks. There is a shop located within the building near the front desk that sells bottled and canned drinks, biscuits and light snacks, which is cheaper than what the minimarts and Circle K charges!
The hotel do provide free airport transfers so please check with hotel for this service even if you book through a travel portal. They have space for motorbike parking but tight parking for maybe 2 vehicles. We will check with front desk if we want to return and rent a car the next time. As said, I will return to this hotel as it offers not decent but amazing value for money.

We stayed here at the start and end of our 3 week trip to Bali. Rooms are nice all with TVs and fridges. Small pool to dip into. Free breakfast which was always nice. Friendliest staff always around to help. Bit of a walk to the main road down an unlit road, around 5/10 minutes to discovery mall. Would recommend this hotel
